Fun at plessey woods today! Splashing in the river, mud jumping, den building, tree climbing. A lot of tired children tonight!

Lots of fun exploring today! This morning we had a walk through the woods, splashing in the puddles, stamping on the bridges and writing in the mud. This afternoon We counted raindrops on the windows and then made our own cloud and rain pictures to put on our windows at home. 🌧

Our new topic this term is weather! We had Lots of fun exploring rainbows this afternoon. We talked about when we might see rainbows and the different colours in a rainbow. We used scissors and glue to put our materials in the right place on our rainbow πŸ™‚

This morning we headed to the seven oaks in cramlington to choose an angel off the Christmas tree. On the angel was the name of a one year old little boy and what he would like for Christmas. We took the angel and went shopping for presents for this little boy to open on Christmas morning. We put them (and more) into a lovely bag to pass onto his social worker. We talked about how the children might feel who wake up without any presents on Christmas morning and how we could help them #christmasangels #britishvalues #charityatchristmas

We enjoyed a long walk in the fresh air this afternoon. We spotted lots of animals, talked about what we could see, hear and smell and jumped in the biggest, muddiest puddle we could find. Lots of muddy, happy, tired children. 🌧

An absolutely amazing day today fundraising for children in need. We dressed up, got our faces painted, decorated biscuits, made Pudsey ears and of course did party dances. Overall we have raised an amazing Β£64 to help transform the lives of children around the country! Special thanks to Donna and Courtney for all of your hard work, to the wonderful people of lynemouth for your generous donations and of course all of the children and parents for your amazing support! Ooh and the duck race winner was James pond! I’ll post the link to the race in the comments! Thanks again guys, have an amazing weekend!! πŸ¦† πŸŽ‰

PLEASE BE AWARE: I have been informed by a parent this morning that their little one has hand foot and mouth. I’ve attached the information from the NHS for what the symptoms are so you know what to look out for https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hand-foot-m outh-disease/

Remembrance is such a hard topic to share with little ones, but it’s so important they grow up knowing the sacrifices that some brave men and women did for our country. On Friday we watched this little clip as a starting point to encourage discussion. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04p4zsl . β€˜At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.’

Our topic this half term is colour! Lots of colour activities this week! Colour matching, Diwali patterns, firework pictures, exploring the Duplo bricks. We even popped into Heighley Gate to look at the Christmas lights, and we have even had the Christmas music on this morning. 😏 πŸŽ„
