Pretties or People? Here's one for Couples planning their wedding or who have recently been married.
Recently I posted some photos taken at weddings of guests having a great time (obviously with the Couple's permission). More regularly I post photos of my setup or the room, monogram, uplighting etc.
As a couple, when looking at wedding suppliers which would you rather see? The pretties, the party or a bit of both? I'd love to see some discussion from you lovely couples.

Saturday's wedding for Francesca and Thomas was one of those perfect days which just flowed in the best way. The daytime was great fun and the guests all had a great sense of humour - humour is really important to what I do and keeping things running smoothly yet remaining fun and relaxed. Pearls of Wisdom and my personal Introduction for Cesca and Tom were really well received. Music during the drinks reception and meal just flowed nicely and included songs which had special... meaning, selected by the Couple. Speeches were fantastic - perfectly delivered and well-received by guests.
Then the evening, which was just awesome. Busy dancefloor all night and full for most of it, too! Guests who danced to everything, some great choices from Tom and Cesca too!
I was really delighted to receive this e-mail today from Cesca's mother.
"Just writing to say a massive thank you for your work at Cesca and Tom’s wedding on Saturday and all the work I know you put in beforehand.
It was a wonderful day and I know everyone had a really fantastic time. You played a huge part in this by keeping the evening moving and keeping everyone amused. The music during the meal was perfect and later when the dancing got going the mix of music was also great. The dance floor was full and yet people who wanted to chat were able to without shouting! I know the older guests appreciated that- as did I when Francesca’s crazy friends let me sit down! Loved the way the evening ended too; though I think some people would have had you keep going until 5 am.
It really was wonderful and will be forever a highlight of my life.
Thank you so much,
Anne"
I've added just a few photos from the evening - loads more to work though!

Some photos from Cesca and Tom's amazing marquee wedding

Today we're in a marquee on the hillside with fantastic countryside views. It's a little windy though! Really looking forward to helping Francesca and Thomas celebrate their wedding day today. I'm Master of Ceremonies for the day, plus we're playing a selection of music for the drinks reception and Wedding Breakfast to fit with the Couple's theme and tastes. Then tonight I'll be DJing into the early hours! Apparently there is going to be a LOT of cake, and even more cheese! And not of the musical variety, either!

A quick snap at the end of Bryone and Luke's fabulous wedding yesterday. It was a feature packed day which was full on from start to end, not to mention the 3 tons of Confetti! Fantastic Couple, brilliant guests, great suppliers = a lifetime of great memories!

I'm delighted to be at Bryone and Luke's incredible wedding today. It's unusual in so many ways but I won't say anything until after the day as it really is amazing. I'm honoured to be their Master of Ceremonies for the day, supplying a very personal custom monogram, music for meal and drinks reception and meal then DJing tonight. Lovely hotel with amazing staff.

Discreet system used for speeches and your choice of background music. This photo was from a Wedding and wonderful Woodhill Hall

Back at wonderful Woodhill Hall today for Hayley and Calum's wedding. It's going to be a great day with some brilliant stuff going on. I'm honoured to be their Master of Ceremonies for the day, providing mealtime music and DJing tonight. Will fill more in later including some fantastic suppliers

I have huge passion in what I do, and I often hear back from clients as to how I helped their day run smoothly, how I helped the dynamics of the day, allowed the Couple to relax and enjoy, put in so much work and preparation, got the music spot on and all of those things. And of course they are all true - that's a big part of what I do.
But a lot of Couple still feel that a Master of Ceremonies is about 'being posh', or formal etc and that is so NOT what I do. I love to break... the ice with your guests, use humour, emotion, laughter and music to help present a day which really reflects my Couples' tastes, sense of humour and personality. That does involve a lot of preparation, a lot of getting to know my couples and of course a lot of work on the day.
So I was really touched to receive a comment on my Facebook page just a couple of days after Eva and James' English/Swiss/French wedding which specifically mentioned that one aspect. I hope it's ok to share it here.
"You did yourself proud, Colin. All my family and friends present have said how friendly, funny and professional you were. When people spoke with you they got the impression they were talking to a friend. What a fantastic day and night. Thank you from the both of us from the bottom of our hearts!"

Nicola and Tony's wedding today at lovely Crook Hall.
It's a hot day and I hope the football doesn't interfere with the wedding.
Looking forward to an awesome night tonight with some great music choices.
