Was a bit dubious about going here for fathers day after reading the reviews but I'm glad we did. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious, especially the desserts. Our children thoroughly enjoyed their meals too. Would visit again

Very nice staff. The food was lovely and well presented . Had Spanish chicken tomato and basil, garden new potatoes. All meals looked tasty. Hard to choose. Plenty of. Best to book Friday was extremely busy. Nice outside sitting area. Nicely decorated pub. Nice chilled out bar area too.

Just celebrated my parents Golden wedding anniversary and the staff had set the table lovely and made such a fuss over my mam and dad, food was lovely and the prices great. Thanks for a great night.

Friends were visiting from out of town and wanted to give this restaurant a try. It is about a 20 minute drive from my home, so not too bad. I didn't know what to expect, as I hadn't looked into it. It turned out to be one of the best restaurant outings I've had in the past few years! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was great and the food was fantastic! We got 4 starters and shared them: chicken skewers, sweet potato fries, lamb meatballs and garlic & cheese flatbread. These were all a big hit with us! Two of us ordered the mixed grill that was on special and were shocked by how much food we got! We didn't have room for dessert, but we ordered it anyway. I got the chocolate brownie and it was the best one I've ever had! Absolutely fantastic restaurant - I'd recommend it to anyone who likes normal, great tasting food at very reasonable prices.

The only odd thing is the placement of the hand dryer in the men's loo - right above the curved sink. This leads to hilarious water blasting. It's fun to see how high you can spray the water. I am pretty sure it hit the ceiling once.

User

Food was fantastic all round very impressed just one slight thing could of done with being giving a quieter table as the people behind us were very loud but overall very impressed and we will be back

User

Even though the tills and computers were down the staff worked hard to ensure customers were served as quickly as possible. There was a delay in the food orders due this problem but we were pre warned therefore we enjoyed our starters and just chilled with another drink. The food was spot on but service was excellent! A big shout out to Kelly, our server, she looked after us so well. We also noted that her other customers were receiving just as much attention, apologising for any delays etc. Well done to the bar, kitchen and serving staff you all did a fantastic job!!!

Am saying in Premier inn and the food here is fantastic really tasty and great atmosphere always busy which is good as advert for good food highly recommended

User

This is going to be my new local when i move into my new house in April.

Staff were very friendly, warm atmosphere, reasonably priced and tasty food.

The decor isn't the best but you can't have everything.

User

Nice place to eat, food lovely with decent portions and service was friendly but a bit slow between orders. Will return again though. Oh and a few more vegan options would me nice -

Not a lot of choice with just one main and no deserts

I sleep/eat in premier inns/restaurant most week days due to work , and I found this one a refreshing change. Good food and was well looked after by Paul , and if I’m in the north-east working again I’ll be seeing if this premier is available.

User

I see very mixed reviews so I can only comment on our visit. We were there at lunchtime which was cosy, comfortable and not too busy. Staff very helpful and welcoming. My husband not a big eater so he order two starters which seemed to be no problem in ordering- Soup, prawn cocktail both delicious. I had the pate for starter and then the fish and chips both were very good. I would say it gives good value for money in a comfortable setting. I would certainly recommend trying this new eatery.

User

I like it in there it’s nice, the staff were ran off their feet yesterday maybe need a few more! Helen was our waitress and she was very friendly, helpful and to be honest she copes really well!

Food was nice nothing to fancy and there was plenty had the pasta with bacon and an egg yolk! Bowl of chips and a couple of the wife’s onion rings mmm would go again!

User

Waited too long at reception for a table. The barman came along and didn't seem happy that we hadn't made a reservation. It was 6 pm!! Gave us a table for 2. Ok. Food was good. Then a group of 8 or so came in. Noisy and too much in our space. One guy didn't sit down just stood drinking beer and said that's how he liked to drink it. Well try the bar son. Couldn't get out fast enough. Partly spoiled a nice meal. We've been put off going there for....we'll see

User

What a shame we were looking forward to a Sunday night tea out after a busy weekend. Service was so slow and the flatbreads so disappointing. I couldn't even eat mine but was charged despite complaining. When I questioned how well cooked it was I was told that was how it was meant to be cooked...funny I've never seen eggs florentine so rock solid. Not be returning

User

We found the staff very pushy at trying to get us to order straight away. We told one girl at least 3 times we were waiting for more people and she said we’ll do you want to order while you wait? - no we were there to have lunch together! After that another girl came and asked us several times if we wanted to order, again we declined. When we were ready to order, there was no one about! We had to go and order desserts as no one asked us if we wanted any, even though the table had been cleared! I think they were being told to get our order quickly, but we felt very harassed, so I’m not sure I would return.

User

Visited on Tuesday evening, food was lovely however let down by service. Waited 30 minutes for a table, when asked told we were forgotten about, finally ordered, waited 35 minutes for starters, after 25 asked for them were offered an explanation but no apology. Didn’t even eat 2 of the starters as they were meat that had obviously been heated before first issue and left under heat lamps.

In the mean time asked for two of our refill Pepsi’s- received 1 diet.

Waited 20 mins for starters to be cleared, finally mains came out and starter boards were still on table.

Food was absolutely lovely however let down by non existent service and lack of concern from management upon enquiry.

User

Miserable waitress and gravy served in a teapot... Used to be a decent place. Not sure if we just caught it on an off day. Also, there were 9 of us (booked a week in advance) so, disregarding the common practice of putting a couple of reasonably similar tables together, they opted for trying to put a round table and a rectangular one (of different heights) together.

Presumably the gravy teapot is their version of the modern practice of serving things in weird containers. If so, it's one I've never seen before.

I had high hopes for my meal here tonight with my daughter. The place was nicely decorated and the staff very pleasant and it was clean. However it was let down by the quality of food and being so tightly packed in. I did send my starter back. I then became embarrassed to complain again about our main courses (although my daughter tried!) And I didn't get the requested refil that I had paid for. (Maybe people should be charged for one drink but then if a second requested and received they are then charged for refilable).

Not sure I'll return. I did notice 3 other tables complain about their food.

User

Food was OK but the service was very poor. A lady who I assume was the manager came over to our table and told us to move despite having a small baby with us as there was no space. We were told we would have to sit in the bar with our 4 month old son. Then there was no staff at the bar and again the same manager walked past time and time again ignoring many customers. Very disappointing.
