5 star Sunday lunch today and I have to say 5 star service. Me and my friend and 4 kids arrived a little lost to say the lease we were met with a huge smile and lovely service. The pub was full so they accommodated us in another room and we had a lovely meal and the kids really enjoyed them self and the staff we very friendly and were more then happy to help xx thank you for a lovely time we will be back when we next visit the forest and will be telling people xx
Unfortunately myself and my two friends didn't have a particularly pleasant experience which is a real shame. We came with our children as we were lead to believe it was a family friendly pub. Theres a play area outside, toys inside and a child's menu. The food was absolutely lovely which he couldn't fault. Unfortunately the downfall was the staff. As we were getting the children's coats on and getting things together, a member of staff approached us and asked if we were going to clean the floor (rather rudely) she came back with a dust pan and brush and handed me it. It took us all by suprise and found it extremely rude. I cleaned up the floor as we didn't want to cause an argument and we swiftly left. My daughter is 16 months old so of course there is going to be some mess on the floor, more food went into her mouth than the floor. Whenever we go out we always make sure the table is in a relatively clean state and always take our plates and glasses to the bar to help the staff, but we didn't even get round to doing that. We were all so disappointed with this situation and won't be returning which is such a shame as its a lovely little place and amazing food. If you're going to a family friendly pub, please relay to your staff.
