Many thanks to Darlington Golf Club, the course was playing brilliantly, well done for keeping it in such good shape during this prolonged heatwave.
Congratulations to George Musty on a second consecutive win in the golf day. A very impressive 25 points in 10 holes left the rest of the field well behind, it’s almost as though he has nothing better to do most of the time 🤔.
Fortunately the weather held out for us, and we managed to make it round before the thunder and lightning started.
Looking forward to next year.
Tomorrow sees members and guests take on Darlington Golf Club for the annual DRFC Golf Day.
Not many golf clubs can boast they share the same designer as one of the world’s leading courses but that is the case for the Darlington Golf Club. Founded in 1908 and designed by Dr Alister Mackenzie, the designer of the Augusta National, home of the US Masters, the 18-hole parkland course shares many similarities to the Masters’ track.
Players are asked to meet at Darlington Golf Cl...ub no later than 3pm. There are still places available if anybody would like to get in touch.
For those not so keen on ruining a good walk by playing golf, a BBQ will be on at our Blackwell Meadows HQ from 6pm.
Look out for the results tomorrow. And we’ll be keeping an eye on those golfing bandits and their suspect handicaps 🤔

World Cup Wednesday at Blackwell Meadows
Andrew Leach, Alan's son, has advised us that his father's funeral will take place on Monday, July 9th, at 12 noon at St John's Church on Neasham Road, followed by a reception at Cleveland Bridge Social Club.
Andrew has asked that we share this information across Darlington RFC and let people know that wearing rugby shirts to celebrate Alan's great love for and input to the game is welcomed.

Went to the touch rugby session on Tuesday night. Really friendly people. Took you right back to basics (thankfully #completenovice). Will be back next month for the next session. �
We have attended the rugby festival for the last 6 years and it is always very well organised. There is plenty of food and drink.
This was perfect venue for my wedding reception. Lisa and the staff couldn't do enough for us to make our day any better. Thank you all so much. Would definitely recommend x x
The club hosted the finals of the Girls u15 and u18 North East and Cumbria plate bowl and cup. Friendly welcome and good facilities

I was recently here for a friends birthday party and I was amazed. The food was excellent and the staff went above and beyond. I would highly recommend. Thank you for a fantastic night.
I support Bury fc The Shakers. I am a season ticket holder and travell down to Bury for every home match 4 hours round trip plus.i go to a lot of away matches also but lately I have been going to watch Darlo when I am not watching the Shakers.i like the ground and the supporters
The team look quite good for the league you are in.i enjoy going and will try and get to as many
games this year as possible.i love it when you beat Salford and fc united.ian Greason.
I will be there Saturday.

Attended 2 totally different functions on Friday night, one for children and one for adults. Both were very well organised and the staff did a brilliant job!! Thankyou Lisa Upton and her team for a great night!!!

I really enjoyed my day out there , watching a Darlington Football game from the balcony after a two course meal. Everyone's on a learning curve here and this place can only get better. Well done to all the volunteers who give up their time for the pleasure of others.
I went to watch a football match at the ground but there was no indication whatsoever that Darlington FC play at the stadium: signs, flags, wall art... they all mention just the rugby club. And the food is regularly moaned about (also the rugby club's offering). This could be such a welcoming place for fans of all sports.
The worst burgers I've ever seen. Caused a huge fuss. Disgusting. The club should be ashamed of themselves for allowing tat poor excuse of food to be sold!
Shit hole. Rude staff, overpriced shite. £3 for a mince pie???? Who you kidding.
