Well 12 years ago we adopted our first dog Jerry from here and he was loved sooo much and he had amazing life and could thank these amazing people for helping us find the perfect dog unfortunately he went over the rainbow last year but never forgot and will always recommend to everyone

User

We went and as soon as we saw the dog we liked you allowed us to bring her home and she is amazing thank you so much for your help and information

User

We visited today to see a dog we had seen the staff were friendly and seemed to have the dogs best interests at heart. We now have an extra member of our family and couldn't be happier x

We rehomed a border terrier from here and I cannot praise everyone enough! Pauline was fab from start to finish and couldn't have helped us any more! Can't believe we hadn't done it sooner.

We rehome a 7 year girl and she is a lovely dog if we didnt see the centre we wont found a lovely dog that we have now

User

We adopted a 3year old gsd. They were really helpful and gave us as much history about her as they could. She was a bit more of a handful than we thought when she saw other dogs but thats the chance we took. Wouldnt change having her. Keep the good work up you lot

My border terrier has just come back from a 8 night stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful and didn't mind me messaging them whenever my 9 year old son was missing his dog and needed an update on busters progress. We Picked buster up today and he couldn't see us at first but we could see him, he was quite happily walking along on the lead. He obviously was ecstatic to see us but as we walked to the car he did look back at the girl who brought him to us with a wag in his tail! I'd feel 100% comfortable leaving my dog at the boarding kennel again in the future.

Just recently gave a dog a home from this shelter, the staff are extremely nice and welcoming. They do their job the best they can and even now 5 days on from getting the dog the staff are always on hand to give myself advice when needed. Please ignore the negative comments regarding the staff on this page, go down or up depending where it is you live of course and see for yourself and you too will see how hard they work and how important it is to have them here.

P.s deliah is settling in nicely and is up to mischief already :) but she's great no complaints.

Just picked my border collie Jack up from here after his 7 night stay, Jack seemed happy and contented, thanks for having him we will definitely be back

I've used a few dog kennels in the past but this past 18 month ,I've used these and wouldn't send my fur babies anywhere else now , they go in happy and come out even happier . Which is fabulous considering previous boarding kennel used involved a trip straight to vets for 1 of my dogs . Angel & ike say thank you very much for looking after us xx

I have a pressa canario dog who has a few issues since I got broken into a few years back my dog and I where both attacked, since then his trust in humans is nil deerness where willing to let him board there,I was so surprised exactly how much notice they took of faigan, they know all his insecurities and his ways I was impressed, boarding faigan at deerness has brought him out his shell a great deal he gets so exited when I take him now,he loves seeing all the other dogs and bark as much as he likes, the kennels are great there huge with a outdoor part and the bed area is raised which faigan loves perfect place with proper dog staff,Thankyou deerness Tracey and faigan xx

I have 2 rescues from here & i think its a great place lovely staff & they advised me on a dog i was looking at for a friend for my staffy that it wasn't suitable , which i agreed so choose a gentle soul from Romainia he's lush , all happy here ...

I cant fault the excellent customer service and the advice I was given when I adopted an 8 year old Tamaskan on the 29th July. I also went to see the rescue cats and the lady who showed us round was so caring and informative. I was very surprised at the bad reviews on here, ignore them, we were welcomed from the moment we went in and shown around. The staff have found out as much as they can about the animals background, they really care... and it shows!

Brought my little girl Nala home yesterday (now Keisha) and she's settled in so well already, staff have obviously looked after the dogs very well, they do a fantastic job and couldn't if been anymore helpful especially Helen and Natalie! Thank you so much for letting me take my perfect little girl!

I was broken handing my 2 little dogs over today.. the staff were lovely... just hope they find forever loving homes and the attention they need.. our working hours changed so dogs were left over 12hrs a day.. So hard on my heart I had to think what was best for them.. Deerness assured me it wouldn't be long before 2 gentle lap dogs would be rehomed..xx

We have not used the boarding services so cannot comment on this however we have used the microchipping service. The service was fine (free if you live in county Durham area, however we did give £10 donation). However i felt very unhappy with the customer service received. None of the staff spoke unless spoken to and staff were just very unwelcoming! The one who did speak, spoke to me in a very degrading and stern manner! I would never consider using any other service or returning for that matter based on the lack of good customer service.

Four years today since we adopted our very hairy bundle of joy, Leo the long haired GSD. The facilities here are very good and the kennel hands are clearly very passionate about their charges, but the management are truly awful. Rude, abrupt and downright ignorant. Its been 4 years but I`m still disgusted to this day by the insinuations the owner made against my husband about his ability to look after a dog. Come here and see what a happy, settled much loved pet he is! Not that you do go to peoples houses. You would happily give a dog to just anyone. I was told one adoption fee on the phone and when I got there it had jumped £20. Anyhow its in the past, we have our beautiful Leo and when I want another rescue dog...I know where not to go.

Wish this was allowed to have no stars. Went with my sister to take our dad's dog to the kennel as my dad is in hospital and won't be able to look after him and they wouldn't take him because of fear behavior, (my dad got the dog from this kennels 2 years ago) he is a lovely dog he was just a bit scared. The woman didn't even care and just told us to take the dog. Absolutely appalling customer service. Another thing is people donate blankets and toys to the dogs and the dogs don't even get to see them.

User

Phoned Deerness kennels about coming to see one of there dogs, staff memeber I spoke to was nice enough until we arrived at the kennels, dog was brought out from kennels terrified and shaking staff memeber didn't know any answers to the questions we asked and clearly had no clue on how to handle a bigger dog. We were told on the phone to bring our dog to meet her and take them on a walk to see how they got along. This didn't happen their dog was very frightened and looked as though she'd not been socialised with other dogs before as her reaction to been introduced to our dog (in the car park) was to bite our dog on the face to which the very rude staff memeber made out it was our dogs fault this had happened, and we were made to feel we were in the wrong! Thanks for wasting our time!
