Dovecote House has had a very busy summer and it doesn’t seem to be getting any quieter, autumn and winters dates are filling up fast with lots of short breaks and it doesn’t surprise us after all the fabulous reviews our guests have been leaving.

If Ad Grefin gets planning permission to open Northumberlands first whisky distillery in Wooler Dovecote House will be the nearest holiday rental to it. Only a short walk to the visitor centre to sample the whisky and then a short stagger back.

We found this photo of Dovecote House in an antique shop in Wooler today, it was taken in 1940. As you can see the house on the left is no longer there and was demolished not long after this photo was taken due to a huge fire. When we brought Dovecote two years ago we decided not to change the name as we quite liked it, we are so pleased we kept it as we've just found out that the street was originally called Dovecote Lane. Lots more research to be done but we're determined to find out more history about the house and hopefully we'll be able to leave some information about Dovecote for our guests to enjoy.
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Dovecote House has received its first award. The Customer Choice Award 2018. Thank you to all our lovely guests who wrote such lovely reviews.
Great relaxing week in this lovely holiday home. Everything you need and right in the centre of wooler. Had some beautiful walks, visited Holy Island Kelso . We have stayed in many cottages all over the UK and this is up there amongst the best.
Fantastic central Northumberland location, easy reach for coastal route and National Park. Cottage was really comfy and well equipped a real home from home. Had a fantastic week, only wish it had been longer. We will definitely be back.
