the best meal i had in Newcastle, been there for few days and tried some restaurants, decent prices and lovely place also the staff were very nice.

We just moved to the area and we’ve been in here quite a few times already! We’ve also brought friends & family. Quality food, generous portions, vegetarian options that are delicious and I think they are adding more shortly. I also requested vegan options. The manager and staff are really very lovely and attentive. It’s in a cute location right next to Brandling Park and their vegetarian Nut Roast dinner on Sundays is great. Atmosphere is friendly, if you have a dog they have a section for people with dogs but I never see it over run with them. It’s a large place and you can quite happily sit without being around them. It’s all round a good pub offering great food and service.

This pub is great, it serves amazing food and drinks. The staff are all really friendly and the acoustic nights provide a great atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back and would definitely recommend to anyone

User

Sunday lunch was great! Recommend getting the pork but everything comes with 2 Yorkshire’s, so you’re laughing either way.

Good range of beers, great service and the pub has been done to be a lot more comfortable than it was before these guys got their hands on it.

Squirrelled away behind Clayton Street this place could be easily missed - but you shouldn't if you can help it. I got blown in out of the cold North wind and received the warmest of welcomes from both manager and chef alike. The cozy atmosphere matched the welcome - recently refurbished, there are snug booths, a restaurant area and a conservatory which leads out onto a fairy-lit beer garden. The food was delicious - mussels in a creamy sauce, freshly baked toasted bread and home cooked peppered fries - and a HUGE winter carb-laden portion it was too. This place is one of those hidden gems which someone else normally tells me about but this time I am gifting to you. You're welcome. :-)

Popped in for a bite to eat this Sunday, and was very pleasantly surprised, the place has been refurbished since i last went in, and is looking great. The food was very tasty and the portions were a good size, highly recommend!

Our running/walking group met there on Wed night. Lovely pub and atmosphere, Hot Chocolate was very welcome after a cold walk. The couple of lagers I had later were good as well. Will be back for food as menu looks great

Myself and my friend are two young professionals who were eager for a weekend stay in Newcastle- a city we had not yet ventured to before. We browsed air b&b and found an inviting advertisement regarding a central apartment above the Dun Cow. Upon arrival we were greeted with a gloriously decorated apartment with every facility I could have hoped for - something I wouldn’t have expected for such a highly affordable apartment. We had a great evening and tonight have ventured down to the Dun Cow pub- not only did we receive great service from the staff including Gary the manager, but we also enjoyed a delightful meal. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our needs were satisfied. Would highly recommend- wonderful weekend stay!

Me and my boyfriend have just came back home from an amazing meal at the dun cow, we were the first to try out the new menu and were more than impressed. The food was absolutely outstanding. We ordered a sharing board and every piece of steak was cooked perfectly. The service was lovely too, very friendly, approachable staff, we'll definitely be returning here!

User

Just returned from Mother's Day lunch, great food, great service, would not hesitate to recommend this pub, will certainly be back.

I came in for a Birthday party with friends. Gary was an amazing host, very attentive, going out of his way to make sure we had an amazing night! F’reez and the band were awesome as usual! Food and drinks were great too. Highly reccommended!

User

Gem of a bar, stumbled upon it while wandering- wide selection of drinks available, plenty of decent bottled beer and although we didn't eat, food looked beautiful as we vicariously enjoyed someone else's burger from a distance.

User

Fantastic place to eat and drink, the music is great and easy going and when they have live acts on they are perfect. The staff are friendly and easy to chat to. Would recommend to anyone who is after a good drink and a great pizza!

User

Came here last thursday (for the weekly quiz) and definitely will be coming back. The atmosphere at the quiz is brilliant and the quiz master is really friendly. Lovely venue, and an excellent selection of Gin. We had food as well, and the service was exceptional, very accommodating and our meals were great. Looking forward to coming back next Thursday for the quiz.

A quality place, superbly refurbished and a must-visit for all those Jesmond Hipsters, middle-aged parents, and lonely hearts who thirst for a range of brews & chews to help unwind from the stresses of the modern world.

!!~WOW¿¡? Last I stayed here it were stunning. Food for all the family. Ryan and James, my children, thoroughly enjoyed their roast. What a warm atmosphere, with lovely staff. Anyway the Yorkshires were just perfect, really got me ready for the afternoon. I thought that the carpet was nice and I like that there were toilets that were available due to multi level restrooms. My partner, Connor enjoyed it greatly. I am still here and i may order a dessert. More updates soon, but for now, i am a fun cow. Anyway me and my family are gonna drink today

This revamped pub is new to us. We dropped in one Sunday for an excellent roast Sunday lunch. We were quite early and the food was served very swiftly. Good portion of meat, huge yorkshire puds, side dish of fresh vegetables and plenty of delicious gravy - good value at £10. We came back two weeks later and it was exactly the same. We plan to visit on a weekday to taste their other menu. Staff on the ball and efficient. Large area including conservatory and outside 'beer garden'. Dogs allowed on the uncarpeted area. Private parking.

User

Dreadful food. Had to send beef & ale pie back twice as the pastry was raw. And how you can f*ck up peas I have no idea!! Did get scampi as replacement finally. Ale was watery & cloudy not like it was a few weeks ago
