Dusofe Description

The School of Education is one of the leading departments for education in the UK, regularly featuring in the top ten in national league tables such as The Times Good University Guide and The Complete University Guide.

We are a large department composed of some 50 academic staff, 400 undergraduates and nearly 700 postgraduate students (including our PGCE students). We are also supported by a large number of partners from schools and colleges across the region. We have a strong international links welcoming international students, postdoctoral fellows and visiting scholars from all over the world.

We have courses to suit many prospective students, whether you are looking to become a qualified teacher or already working in the education sector and looking for further or training and development, or whether you keen to study education as an academic discipline in its own right, at either undergraduate or postgraduate level. While our standards are high, we have always welcomed students from all walks of life - those changing career direction or looking for further professional development, as well as recent graduates.

We are based at two locations: the Durham city campus (which is the home of our Education Studies degree, PGCE degrees and postgraduate programmes), and the Queen's campus at Stockton (where our BA in Primary Education is based).
