After a very busy week finishing the restoration, Sam managed to get Mono 3 to Duxford this weekend to the Flying Legends Airshow - seen here taking some shade under an Antonov An-2. Mono 3 was out again today for its first air to air shots over Alnwick with Richard at the controls.

Richard & Sam completing the respray on the worlds oldest flying Taylor Monoplane G-AWGZ. The aircraft has had its final coat of paint today ready for a visit to Imperial War Museum Duxford for the Flying Legends Airshow on Sunday. A massive thank you to GA Livery Limited for their help fitting it in amongst a busy schedule!

Pleased to say the new airfield residents have settled in nicely today!

Visited Eshott airfield, and was impressed with the facilities. The runways are in excellent condition, as are the grass parking areas. Landing fees is more than fair, and with a reasonable uplift of fuel, this was waived anyway. Coupled with the good service from Newcastle airport, it makes it a really attractive place to visit. What I was most impressed with though were the people who run and work on the airfield. After suffering a mechanical failure they spent a number of hours trying to get the aircraft back in the air. When that was unsuccessful (components, not workmanship!) I was offered a lift to the station to get us home. A real aviation gem in the North East!

The hub of aviation in the North East. Tarmac runways, cheap landing fees, hospitable owners and club members, newly refurbish facilities and some amazing inbound scenery. The best in the country for GA and can now offer Jet A1 for turbo prop operators. Worth a visit.

Strongly advise a visit to Eshott airfield. not only an amazing part of the country with a gorgeous coastline to fly over but the people there are truly passionate about aviation and very welcoming to new pilots.

The fuel is of the cheapest around and Purple aviation delivers fantastic training and a very good price.

Eshott is a jewel in the crown at the top of England. Located near the Scottish Border it has excellent road communications into Newcastle and the rest of Northumberland. I fly in with a Beech Baron and the runways are in good condition. For preference take the east / west runway if you are in a heavier aircraft as the approaches are easier. There is Avgas at a competitive price and the locals are friendly. Just look out for my brother Peter he may try to get you buy him a pint as he resurrected the airfield in the late 80s after a 30 year period of disuse. Enjoy the views and the company it is well worth the trip. Roger Bell
