FabLab Will be closed from the 20th December 2018 and will reopen on 7th January 2019.
2019 is looking like a busy but good year for FabLab as we are already heavily booked for the first weeks of January. If you want to make something then don’t leave it until the last minute. Let us know now and we can get you booked in ahead of everyone else.

As part of Maker Month, FabLab Sunderland will be hosting a free 3D Selfie event during the Easter holidays.
Book a slot to visit the FabLab and be 3D scanned by our team (this is painless!). The team will then give a demonstration of our 3D printers and you will be able to see an 3D object being printed. Final 3D printed busts (max size 7cm) will be printed after the event and you will be notified when they are ready for collection.
After the session, there will be time for ...questions about how to access the FabLab and a quick tour of our facility inside the Hope Street Xchange.
Additional Information
This workshop requires no previous experience and is suitable for ages 5+. Please note that under 16’s should be accompanied by an adult.

FabLab Sunderland would like to invite University of Sunderland staff and students to the second 3D THURSDAY.
Held at our new location in the Hope Street Xchange, 3D Thursdays will focus on techniques and technologies used in 3D printing.
Thursday 6th April:
... Our expert technicians will walk you through the basic steps of making a 3D model using Fusion 360. The session will end with time for questions. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptops and download software ahead of the class.
The demo will last around three hours and spaces are limited. Please book online to avoid disappointment.

On Saturday 4th March FabLab Sunderland will host it's first 'Design Your Own' session in it's new location at the Hope Street Xchange.
This workshop offers the opportunity to work with FabLab's digital tools, including design and 3D printing, to make a bespoke 3D printed vase.

We are now fully booked for our tour on the 4th March.

Thanks to Erin for spending a couple of very patient hours with me explaining how I can bring my imagination to life and where the hidden coffee gems of Sunlun are. Very exciting sounds and smells - can't wait to get back and make some more �

Had a really exciting and interesting morning at Fablab. My boys had a FABULOUS time and we're looking forward to our next visit. Many thanks to Tony for showing us the process of printing t-shirts from the boys own designs. Highly recommended.

Great resource for anyone with ideas & concepts and for anyone who wants to prototype, fabricate or work towards a proof of concept. Great support and insight from the talented Carl Gregg.

Great day for my budding programmer and his sister, who is not quite as interested. (Ages 9 and 10, possibly not suited to much younger unless they're very keen?) The sessions were set at a good level with different activities to keep them interested. Well worth the money considering the tools and equipment that they get the chance to use. Limited free parking.

Brilliant varied workshop areas, lots of lovely kit to play with and proper friendly and knowledgeable staff. What's not to like? Great stuff Fablab, I'll be back soon!
