We have been going to oak tree for quite a while now tried other places but always go back food beautiful never have to wait long for our meal always well presented waitress all well manered and friendly Sunday carvery is as good as you could get definitely my favourite eating place xx👍

User

We always go to the oak tree quiz on a Thursday and have a choice of whers to sit, this week being the start of the kids holidays there was not a seat to be had! After asking a server if we could use one of the high tables that was advertising upcoming events they could not have been more helpful. As soon as a table was available Leigh informed us immediately which was great for my back.

Thanks guys we will see you next week 5*

User

User

Had a wonderful afternoon tea after winning tickets ,the food was excellent and plentiful great staff thankyou very much we will be back xx

User

Had a fantastic night at the quiz there was over 100 people, the prizes were fantastic. I was surprised it finished only 10 minutes late at 10:40 instead of 10:30. I would highly recommend this, on every Thursday starting at 8:30. Also heard from a staff member they are starting a monthly themed quiz on a Monday the first one is going to be Harry Potter.... love it

User

Great place to eat and drink with family and friends.

The food is great, the beer is better, nice place to chill and catch up wile the kids play.

User

First time there yesterday for Sunday carvery and a must say it's the best av ever had, the food was lovely and lovely and hot not like the carvery at the barnes where its allways cold, a would highly recommend anyone to come here, staff is very friendly and helpful, very busy and a long queue but was well worth waiting for, can't fault the place, very clean, will defiantly be back x

Went for a meal to celebrate my wife's birthday. Our arrival at 6:20pm coincided with the local call centres staff having meals (apparently they just got paid!). Needless to say it was very busy. We were informed that there was a 30 minute wait for food. No problem there. Went to order the meals only to be told that my wife's choice of lasagne had just ran out and the favourite J2O's flavour was also unavailable. However the meals we did have were excellent. I have never had a bad meal here yet. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would have given 5 stars but for the fact that the requested meal and drinks mentioned above were out of stock (and it was still early). I would definitely dine here again though.

User

This is our second experience of dining there, the first time was also a bit of a fiasco as again they had no desserts available and again never served the Sundaes on a plate, it is just carried across the restaurant with ice cream etc melting down the sides and making a mess, surely whoever orders in the foodstuff should realise when they are likely to run out of Bananas and strawberry etc,

User

The meat looked very dry and I was only given a very small portion of Turkey. The veg was cold and hard, although I do like my veg aldantay but not under cooked

We had just sat down for our meal,noþ even knives and forks in hand and a waitress came and asked how the meal was to witch I replied we have just sat down. I don't like it when they keep.coming to ask if the do is was Ok,sometimes you are frightened to complain in case they do something with you food.

Went for dinner today with my baby and my friend. We went to order our food and drinks at the bar and when the drinks were put down they were placed on a menu that my baby had been playing with. He pulled the menu and knocked his juice over and I instantly apologised and both the woman behind the bar rolled there eyes and just walked away, they didn’t even offer a replacement drink. Considering he is only one, he didn’t do it on purpose. I’ve never felt so embarrassed.

User

Food was terrible, had the curry and nan. Nan bread was rock hard that was left. Popodorm tastes very cheap, chips are of the frozen variety, I was offered another nan but to be honest they are not good. Another order was the all day breakfast both eggs overcooked hard yokes, sausages tasted cheap and very bland, I've being to many establishments and paid cheaper for beautiful fresh from scratch food, so why do these chains get it so wrong.

User

Went on Friday 5th January and left very disappointed. Myself and partner decided to pop in for a bite to eat at 7pm. Looking at the menu and everything looked good. Ordered lasagne and the mac burger. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement.

The food was delivered and both plates were just piled with chips some of which weren’t cooked.

The burger was cold and the mac cheese had obviously been warmed up in the microwave.

If I ever return to here I would only ever get the carvery. There was even a couple on table next to us saying the same thing.

User

Went for lunch and was so disappointed as I got.the carvery and to be honest wished I didn't now they was more fat on my meat then they was actually meat my roast potatoes were more boiled with a little burnt edges my veg was all hard that I couldn't even cut them I was so disappointed as iv been before and it was nice but I won't be back again plus my boyfriend ordered a Mac burger without the Mac cheese and when it came it had the Mac cheese on but we had waited that long for it he didn't send it back but had to scrape the Mac cheese off we ordered cake to take away we were stood 20mins waiting for Sumone to come out of back with cake to when which we got the cake and looked in bag it wasn't even wrapped properly just in a sheet of paper never again

User

Very unprofessional and rude staff when you can clearly hear the staff talking about you and not willing to serve you when you have been stood waiting. Really bad experience shame as it's a lovely place and the quiz was really good fun just a let down by rude staff members.

There was blood running out of the turkey as chef was slicing it for my Mum, I told him and he said it's quite normal as it was bruised! I then refused any meat, the veg was frozen and watery though the cauliflower cheese was tasty. The mash was so watery like they'd been well overboiled. The yorkshire puds which you pay an extra £1 for were also frozen and rock hard, I couldn't cut it. Really really disappointing. When I informed the waitress, she immediately offered me something else or a free dessert. I declined. I will never return for food. I am disgusted that the chef believes blood in poultry is acceptable. Where does campylobacter , E. coli, salmonella etc etc come from? My Mum has a low immune system, eating undercooked poultry is actually extremely dangerous for her. Unbelievable.

User

The last 2 times I’ve been here (last time being last week) I’ve had to complain about the standard of their food. Child’s sausage and mash, cold lumpy mash, ridiculously salty gravy, and cold slimy burger, cold potatoes. Never seem to be many staff around when you need them, although they were helpful when informing them about the food. Definitely won’t be going back anymore, it’s gone down hill! They need a decent chef!

User

I've been going here for a few years. But over the last year especially it has progressively gotten worse. It's so bad now I won't be returning. The menu has changed too much (you can't even get hot dogs anymore) the food is cold and stale. We had a carvery last night as it was always the best thing available. However I wish we went elsewhere. The veg was disgusting it was cold and dry the carrots were soggy and wilted. The roast potatoes were just boiled potatoes with one side burnt. And the yorkshire puddings are no longer homemade they are frozen crap (it is really not difficult to make them yourself nor is it expensive so why change them?). The only part of the meal we had eaten was the meat. We were still hungry since the meal was inedible so we got cake to take home (the cakes were always delicious) but alas they were dry and heavy also burnt on the edges. The waitress asked us if everything was fine with our meal but we did not have time to complain and wait about for apologies etc. By the way why do you have waitresses walking about asking if our meals are ok? It's meant to be a pub not a restaurant.....
