How not to do it. 🚫❌
We found this during a recent Electrical Installation Condition Report on a domestic property. An incorrectly positioned downlight/spot light cut into a ceiling joist. As you can see in the photo the timber is charred due to the heat from the light fitting. This would have likely caused a fire if not discovered and removed in due time. It just shows the importance of using a qualified NICEIC accredited electrician to do any work, and to get your property... electrically inspected and tested.
