Meet Matthew Hurst, one of our Athletics Academy students.
At Gateshead College, we aim to support young athletes from any sport.
Matthew is not just a part of our Athletics Academy, he is also very successful in Jujitsu and Karate.
... Jujitsu - Matthew is a Black Belt, and competes occasionally in Jujitsu, but his main achievement here is being asked to coach in classes and some courses, representing World Jujitsu Federation, and being the youngest coach from the North East of England to have this honor.
Karate - Matthew returned to the sport after a 12 month's absence last year to focus on his GCSE's. On his return, Matthew was invited to join the England Kumite Squad, and has a competition coming up in April to with the Full England Squad.
Keep up the good work Matthew, and we wish you the best of luck!
