'Love coming to genever for a gin or two but today decided to road test the afternoon tea before our booking in October. I wasn't disappointed it was lovely and nicely presented ,loved the nice touch with the chocolate dipped strawberries.
Staff were attentive. You got loads we were both so full afterwards that I never had anything else to eat for the rest of the day. It's excellent value for money too at £9.95 for the afternoon tea ...with tea or coffee and £14.95 if you want a Gin .
I upgraded and asked the staff to rustle up a fruity gin with elderflower tonic it was devine. I'm looking forward to trying it again in October and in the mean time I will pop in and try brunch.'

Went for the 1st time this weekend and what a lovely place. My 1st time drinking gin and the staff were lovely and very helpful. Such a nice little place and would definitely go back.

Took my Gran in to treat her to an afternoon tea - what a treat! The food was impeccably presented, the sandwiches, cakes and scones were beautifully fresh and the customer service was fantastic. My gran can't eat too much so the fact that we were able to take what we didn't eat home was a bonus. I will definitely be returning here, it was such a fabulous day that I know my grandmother will remember for a long time to come.

My friends and I absolutely love this place! The service is fantastic with warm and friendly staff who always make sure you have everything you need! The afternoon tea is delicious and the portions are enough to more than satisfyingly fill you up! The Gins look amazing. Will be returning soon.Thanks for the great service from you all �����

Just had a fabulous 'brunch' this lunchtime at Genever. Absolutely lovely experience. Food was delicious and the lovely girl serving us made us feel very welcome. We're looking forward to sampling a few gins next time we have a night out :)

Have been to genever on two occasions. First as part of a girls night out. We arrived en mass and the girls on the bar got through our drinks orders quickly and efficiently. A really great selection of gins and cocktails.

I have also been to genever for afternoon tea. Absolutely brilliant value for money and i've had a lot worse and paid more. I had my baby with me, pushchair etc. This wasn't a problem either. The atmosphere was really relaxing and staff really attentive. Highly, highly recommended and i can not wait to see what else they have to offer.

Had afternoon tea, and it was lovely! Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, great coffee , Cruzcampo on tap (the only place in Darlington!) and a fantastic selection of Gin, what more could you want! �

Had afternoon tea here the service was brilliant and the food very yummy! Especially the little cheesecake in the jars! Definitely recommend coming here xx

Had a lovely lunch with hubby on our first visit to this lovely little place. Really looking forward to coming back in the evening to make our way through the gin menu!

Fabulous intimate place, staff are so lovely & knowledgable, drink selections are brilliant & the idea of having a plank served to you, with a selection of Vodka/Gins mixers with fruit & ice is genius . Afternoon tea was one of the best i've had in a long time. Well done guys.

Excellent Gin selection , Spanish draft beer Cruzcampo very refreshing as well . Staff were great and helpful with selecting tonics to go with Gin . Would recommend the Peaky Blinders Gin 😁

Booked afternoon tea for my mams birthday, for four people including myself, auntie and nana.. it was perfectly suited to all of us with age ranges (21-82), welcomed with a smiley and friendly staff member and our table was set up waiting for us, took our order for drinks, gorgeous floral teapots and the option to upgrade to gin or prosecco, our afternoon tea arrived shortly after and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount and quality for the price, amazing value for money, everything tasted fresh and yummy, crisps and fresh salad in-between the sandwhich tray as-well as chocolate dipped strawberry’s were a lovely touch. Very clean and relaxed environment, music playing in background but still able to chat comfortably, we did not feel rushed as we stayed for a few hours and staff wrapped up left overs which we were to full to eat so we could take them home, I would definitely return and recommend, thank you very much!! ����

Booked afternoon tea for 12 of us for a baby Shower, clare went out of her way to open up on a sunday for us. Would definitely recommend it was beautiful . Thanks again Clare !

Amazing afternoon tea and gin and vodka planks at this lovely little place, chris the chef made the most gorgeous sandwiches to order, cakes were lush and Sophie provided us with top notch customer service, such a lovely warm, friendly and knowledgable lady, we will definitely be going back and probably pretty soon ���xx
