Went to the comedy night on Monday. Great food, friendly atmosphere and very funny comedian. Excellent value too

User

Stumbled on this place by chance ,The atmosphere was lovely and the food was excellent . The waitresses very lovely , friendly and very helpful , all with Smiles on their faces. Will definitely be returning soon .

User

Really lovely meal and plenty of it. Staff are very friendly. I’ll definitely go again and would recommend to family and friends.

User

My wife and I have visited George's Hall again but this time it was on a Wednesday night which was a 2-4-1 Steak offer night. Apart from being excellent value for money, the service was brilliant. The manageress is exceptional, very attentive and welcoming as are the rest of the staff. When the food arrived, it was also superb and really, really tasty. All n all, we had a great night with great food and great service, can't fault it <3 THANK YOU

User

I came last night on my works do . The food was amazing, very generous portions to the extent I couldn't eat it all . I had the Christmas dinner , which was just wow ! ( please tell me how you cook your carrots ? ) staff were friendly and looked very well presented . Lots of our group enjoyed the disco too . Bouncers on the door were equally lovely . Will definitely be back . Well done to you all at this busy time of year . Happy Christmas to you all

User

Great venue, the food is fantastic - deals most days of the week - we love Wednesday "steak night" = 2.4.1 - unbelievable quality of meat. And Sunday roast - if you do not book, you snooze you lose because they are packed out = love it!!! It's great to go somewhere that is not a mega chain , who do not care , but the staff care and always look after us!!! Well done everyone xx

User

First time we had been to Georges and only went because we stumbled upon it. Very happy we did! Gorgeous restraunt, fell in love with the decor. More importantly wonderful food!! Everything was lovely. Plus friendly staff! Cannot fault it and cant wait to go back. Definetley going to be our new go to place, made new regulars here!

User

The food is always really really tasty! The vegetarian options limited though, the portion sizes are getting smaller each time we go, such a shame! Please put some more interesting veggie options on the menu and increase your portion sizes, we eat out a lot and bring friends too, would come here more often if you do that

User

It was a last minute call for some food. Stumbled across this place and on the way back up north from Surrey just off the A1.

Lovely venue.

Main courses eaten...

Ribs....very nice and meat dropped off the bone.

Pepper sauce burger..nice flavour and moist burger.

Fish and chips....too many bones but nice.

Lasagne...a little dry but nice.

We got a deal... buy a main and get another half price so for a total of £50 inc a drink for 4.....happy overall.

The bones in the fish was mentioned to the staff member but nothing was really done or said. Never mind.

All in all...worth a visit!

User

Rib starters were nice, as was the house white, but the mains (chicken and fish cakes) were pretty bland. Had quite a long wait for food too, despite it being relatively quiet. We'll give it another go sometime as I'd like to give it a second chance, but the first visit was a bit underwhelming

User

Nice venue but watch out for the minimum charge on drinks for your party. A friend of ours recently had their birthday do at Georges Hall and was asked at the end of the night to stump up £800 surcharge because the minimum spend of £3K had not been reached. At no point were they warned that the spend rate looked like they wouldn't reach the limit. Also at the end of the niight, they weren't offered the chance to spend up to the limit, thus GH made an extra £800. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I won't be using this venue as a result of this sharp practice.

User

Long wait for food. Both children’s burgers so heavily spiced they could not eat them, despite being really hungry. Both adult meals over priced and very average. Friendly staff but extremely rude manager who accused me of lying when i said my children were unable to eat their burgers.

User

Had a cream tea was not what happy with it sorry was a let down x

User

Food was ok, 3 meals were so cold but it took so long to come out we ate it anyway! Waitress was very bubbly and nice but the service was just so slow and disappointing

User

Wow, where to start? Lets start with the good stuff: lovely decor, nice food. Now: everything else.

The service was awful. Not just offhand - awful. When we arrived, the bar staff asked us if we wanted to sit in the bar area, or the restaurant. We opted for the restaurant, but that meant they seemed to assume we wanted a bar tab (we didn't). When we tried to pay for our food in advance, at the bar (not unusual behaviour, I think you'll agree) we were told, 'You can't, it's cos you're, uh, ordering food.'

Two people in the party were driving so opted for virgin mojitos. Virgin, ie without alcohol. They arrived with alcohol. We sent them back. They grudgingly (no apologies, just tried to push the blame around) replaced them with actual virgin mojitos, but had put in so little sugar syrup it was, and I quote, 'Like drinking soda water'. So they asked for more to be put in. This was done, but it's not really acceptable to have to replace drinks twice.

There were seven of us, so we sat on a long table in the middle of the room, that was free. One of the bar staff told us, 'It's OK for you to sit here, but it's been reserved from 7.45 so you'll have to move then.' Thanks for making us welcome! Clearly, the concept of a reserved sign has not yet reached the dizzy heights of Biggleswade.

The final item in the list demonstrating the best of Biggleswade customer service was when we came to get the bill. We originally wanted to pay separately, on ordering, at the bar, but as this was clearly insane behaviour, the alternative meant we could take advantage of the 'buy one main course, get one half price' offer, clearly advertised on the wall. Of course, this wasn't honoured so again we had to go back to them and get it changed.

So the food is good, the surroundings are good, but for the love of God, sort out your customer service!

User

We ate here last Wednesday enticed by the lovely ambience. sadly we were very disappointed in the steak it Was very gristley and when we mentioned the manageress was rude and we were made to feel like it was our fault. Our waitress was lovely so it was a shame the good quality and management let it down.

User

Usually we have a great meal but last Sunday (Fiancés birthday) was awful, 2 of the people on our table didn't even eat it, and the people that did - only ate it as they were hungry and had waited ages. Over an hour for starters and again for mains. I ordered the veggie stack for starters- which consisted of a pile of roasted courgettes. So disappointing.

The roast dinners were cold, potatoes were under done and veg microwaved as the first lot came out cold.

From the amount of meals we could see being sent back- we weren't the only ones to complain.

Cannot fault the front of house staff- very apologetic and i was told i'd get a call from the manager...i never did. We wont come back now. I wouldn't waste your time or money going there.

Gutted for the waitresses. They were so embarrassed.

User

Unfortunately the food has gone down hill over the last few months, we went yesterday and ordered the salmon, this was swimming in a butter sauce which was off putting, the roast was mediocre and the children’s fish was covered in a thick batter. We used to really enjoy eating here and keep willing for it to improve. Can’t see that we will be returning any time soon.

User

Unfortunately I turned up at George’s hall tonight to celebrate my birthday half way through happy hour only to be told last orders had been called. I couldn’t believe they would turn away our large groups business on a Thursday night. I found the customer service appalling and the fact they advertise happy hour till 11 would suggest you can order until then. False advertising. I will not be back here in a hurry.

We ate here last Wednesday enticed by the lovely ambience. sadly we were very disappointed in the steak it Was very gristley and when we mentioned the manageress was rude and we were made to feel like it was our fault. Our waitress was lovely so it was a shame the good quality and management let it down.
