We came to Newcastle for a hen night and went into the glass house, what a lovely place, particularly Des, the doorman, he was above and beyond looking after our group, refreshing change from your standard doorpersons who think they are just there to open a door, to the management, Des is an absolute asset to your establishment, thank you Des, you’re the man!!! X

User

Popped in for some mid week cocktails. Lovely venue, atmosphere and decor, friendly staff and a great selection of delicious and very well made cocktails. Well priced, good variety in a prime location.

I think people need to

Take a a step back tbh, it's a brand

New bar with new staff which is going to have " teething problems " , yes u might have to wait

A while for a cocktail, but what do

You expect ? it's probably there first bar job...not a lot of experience I think a lot of people need to sort there head out..give them

A chance..don't like it ? Go somewhere else! Bigger things Happening in the world than people getting a cocktail in 5mins

User

Had a couple of cocktails before the theatre ordered a platter then changed my mind to be surprised with the lovely gentleman that brought it out anyways absolutley lovely staff and cocktails were beautiful too xo

User

First visit here yesterday evening. Best Caipirinha I've had in ages (I have high standards when it comes to these), made for me by the barman, even though it wasn't on the menu. The service from our host, Sam, was second to none. We were made to feel really welcome and loved the whole experience. We will definitely be back!

User

Fantastic decor and a vibrant yet cool atmosphere. The bubbles are plentiful and the cocktails are incredible, and watch out for the deals that are on. Ask Connor, the superb master at the bar, he will keep you right. All together, a very enjoyable experience. The Glass House delivers - on all levels. Well done Kelly, and thank you Connor for creating the best Daquiris and Espresso Martinis.

User

Amazing venue for a birthday party!! I booked the whiskey lounge for a surprise 30th and it was perfect, it comfortably fit 70 people with separate access to the outdoor seating/smoking area which made it even more spacious. The staff couldn't have been more helpful!!

User

Amazing bar, nothing else like this around. Very different style reminds me of my favourite bar in NYC. Great cocktails too

User

I took my mum to the Glass House for the Champagne Afternoon Tea on Friday ( at 4pm) We found the staff to be very efficient and the 'Tea' very tasty, plentiful and served in a quirky box style fashion. The sandwiches ( Tuna/egg/chicken tika) were more than fresh. The 'dainty bits' like the macaroons etc, were lovely but their carrot cake was fabulous! The house champagne was very pleasant...not being a wine buff, I found it more on the Cava side as opposed to procecco, which suited me perfectly. We stayed on for a cocktail ( or two!) and can certainly recommend their Sidecar and Bramble. There is a beautifully presented Whisky Bar on route to the toilets, which is very atmospheric and well stocked, though probably not advertised well enough. Very pleasant experience and look forward to returning.

User

Visit regularly with friends , visited tonight service was poor , wasn't that busy , ( seen it a lot busier ) loads staff serving behind the bar but after taking my order and paying for my cocktails I was then told there was a 10- 15 minute wait for cocktails , ,staff continued to take more orders it seemed chaos , May think twice about returning , plenty other places ,nearby

User

I do think this is a great bar however tonight one of your staff (male wearing suite with yellow scarf) who was off duty is very rude and kept interrupting a waitress who was serving demanding drinks

He didn't do this just once but three times

Your staff think they have some sort of authority when off duty and demanding service

The waitress was fantastic and looked after us well no complaints about her at all just about your rude male staff off duty

User

Why have you changed the two for one cocktails so that it is two of the same cocktail? I often come in with my husband and we don't like the same cocktail, also there was much more variety for the two for one cocktails when the Glasshouse first opened. We won't be back in a hurry!!

User

Went Saturday night about 18.30 and loved the look of the place. However music a but loud and awful - like nightclub music you hear at 2.00 in the morning. Anyway decided to try out cocktails and was very disappointed. Gatsby was so sour - could just taste lemon juice and nothing else and friends had cosmopolitan which was also awful. Next time we're out will be giving this place a miss - sorry

User

It was probably the worst afternoon tea I've had. The sandwiches were really dry, and the scone tasted like they had been left out for some time, definitely not fresh. The dainty cakes were poor and cheap. Only had 1 tiny jar of jam and cream to share, and when we asked for another they said that was the last one so couldn't have any more which seemed bizarre. The champagne was nice and the carrot cake was lovely. Would not come here for afternoon tea again.

User

Would not return, had an awful experience and even your complains to ‘management’ aren’t taken seriously. Customer service just isn’t great.

User

What a shame, great atmosphere and decor. Ruined by the overly aggressive and abusive door staff who clearly wanted to shoot off early. Ordered a drink at 12:50 only to be sworn at and told to ‘fuck off out’ by the younger, southern member of the door staff at 12:55. “It’s not my fucking problem they served you a drink”. Went on to have a great night elsewhere. Probably wont return so it doesn’t effect me, but if I were you I’d keep a close eye on the attitude of your security team.

User

Used to love it here. Walked in and my partner stood at the bar for ten mins. Some bar staff were just stood there. One girl was just playing with her Hair behind the bar and talking to other staff ignoring customers. One guy then decided to serve but served the last people to join the queue. Ridiculous. Noticed three beers weren’t on. My champagne was very expensive and tasted flat. Doesn’t have a nice atmosphere. Such a shame. It used to be good

User

My friend was celebrating her recent job success and we both wanted nice cocktails and good atmosphere so I suggested glasshouse as our first stop. Once we arrived the girl behind the bar again asked for our ID and took our order, raspberry mojitos. She returned to tell us this order wasn’t possible so we settled for strawberry. As we waited for our cocktails, a male customer started to talk to me and my friend which was fine. Then things took a turn, he began lifting up my coat and making comments on my bum. A male staff member could see I was uncomfortable and asked us if our order had been taken and kept talking until the male had left. The girl who took our order was happily taking other people’s orders so we believed our drinks had been passed to another colleague however this was wrong she just hadn’t made our drinks yet. Since me and my friend were still waiting another male member of staff asked again if our order had been taken. I said yes, he said you’ve been here a while what have you ordered so I proceeded to tell him and joked it’d been half an hour he joined in the laugh and said he’d chase up our drinks. Ten minutes later our drinks arrived (start to finish it was close to a twenty minute wait). The girl returned was rude and aggressive slamming the drinks on the bar saying “it didn’t take me half an hour” I simply agreed ok. I didn’t want to engage we were out for a celebration and it had been a long week. My friend, very unhappy with the service provided asked a male member of staff for her name to which he told us. Within minutes, we hadn’t even reached the toilet the girl and the door man came storming over. We were swiftly asked to leave in a very horrid manner. When I asked why? The doorman continued to tell me to get out, I was vile to staff and he didn’t like my attitude. I didn’t have an attitude which I should have things considered, I just wanted to know why I was being kicked out. We were escorted through the bar told to leave multiple times, without the opportunity to even finish our cocktails. The whole experience was absolutely mortifying as people were around and could visibly see the commotion. I have never been spoken to or been in a situation like it and hope to never experience it again. As we were being escorted out a young bar man (I didn’t catch his name but he was lovely) told the door staff the truth that we had done nothing wrong and his words “girls name was in one”. We were offered drinks and an apology however I am still disappointed at the treatment I received. The manager never came over to offer an apology yet she was in the bar neither did the girl apologise it was just the doorman. We felt like we had to quickly drink our drinks which left us unable to enjoy them. Customers were looking following us being escorted through the bar, two even asked what happened. I also want to add if that boy hadn’t been there we’d have been escorted out the bar, we’d be out of pocket by £17, spoken to like muck and all because one of your bar staff decided to be “in one” and make up malicious lies about us. I will not visit the glasshouse again after this treatment, it was nothing short of the most uncomfortable and embarrassing situation I’ve ever been in and it certainly ruined the rest of our night.

User

Champagne tasting night group of 19, plus platter plus cocktails. Cocktails very poor on arrival. Gatsby's were sent back as they tasted like pure lemon juice. Others poor as well. One of our group was pregnant and waited 1 hr for her mocktail. We paid £10 per head for platter of meat and cheese. This came between 2 and consisted of sliced chorizo that you can get from asda for 89p and 4 slices of blue cheese, dry crackers (asked for butter and were told they didnt have any) and a small ramekin of nuts. Very poor. We waited with baited breath to see what the vegetarian option was and it came without chorizo and that was it!Champagne tasting was supposed to be vintage, non vintage and rose. Didn't get the vintage. Manager looked miserable from when we turned up. Only good thing was the effort by the lad who delivered the talk. Complained at the end and very reluctantly were given some prosecco to share. So over £1000 spent including money at bar and ended up with very disappointing night.
