One of the best places in Newcastle to eat and shop. Full of unique places!

User

Love The Grainger Market, shame Mark Toneys café has now closed after 125 year's.

User

Its our favorite place to visit in Newcastle, the fruit and vegetables stall's are very well priced, and the food is fantastic value and quality. You can get unique birthday cards. A good way to spend hour walking around taking in the atmosphere. Enjoy

I've known the Granger Market all my life, I used to regularly visit with my Nana as a child on a Saturday when we would purchase everything necessary for Sunday lunch. I still visit regularly and think in comparison with similar market halls in other U.K. Towns and Cities the Granger Market is by far the best!

User

I no longer live in Newcastle; however I come home for regular visits. I love the Grainger not only for the shopping but the heritage. It’s great to sit and have a coffee & remembered coming here with my Grandmothers, Mam & then bringing my kids here x

User

I have always enjoyed visiting the Grainger market when in Newcastle and usually get something to eat in there too. If I have the kids they enjoy getting sweets. Some great butchers and fruitier shops too. Then very recently I found out my great Auntie died in there in 1975. Collapsed when out shopping I think. I found it strange finding that out. She obviously liked the place too.

User

I had the real pleasure of visiting Newcastle a few weeks ago what a Fancastic city, the buildings, the friendly people. But most of all Newcastle Greiager indoor market I fell in love as soon as I walked through the door Wow what a Beautiful place. The stalls, the fancastic mix of food stalls I had one of the best meals I have had in a long time. If for no other reason you visit Newcastle It should be to spend a day at the Greinger Market

User

Great shopping experience loads of quality independent grocers, butchers bakeries wine shops etc and to cap it all off tasty food outlets, and a vinyl record store. Keeps me happy on a Saturday morning

User

Good range of meat, fish, fruit & veg, and all sorts. Fabulous dedign if you like that sort of thing. Great place to graze for lunch. Much more interesting place to shop and be human than being in a chain store.

User

Fabulous cheap fresh produce ..

User

Enjoyed the time we spent in Grainger Market one if the best we have seen. Brought a lovely hand bag and other bits and pieces. Had lunch at the Italian bistro and shop really lovely meal and the best coffee we have had in a while. Hope the market continues so that next time we visit Newcastle it is still there.

Always like the Grainger Market even if I don't buy anything. It's a place of character and history and a special place in people's hearts in and around Newcastle. The sad part is the number of units that have closed which gives a bit of a sorry look, but hopefully this will never close as it's a iconic building.

When I'm in town with my two daughters, aged 9 & 11, I quite often take them to Grainger Market for their lunch. There's lots of "eateries" to chose from and very good prices. Much better atmosphere than the over priced restaurants that are popping up elsewhere in town. Loads of other shops too. I'm a firm believer of supporting independent shops. I love the Scented Melts stall and the Boutique Bath shop. my daughter's love the make up shop and obviously their favourite is the candy stall where they can get their pick and mix sweets. It's a must when we're in town

User

We visited the market for the first time yesterday. We live in West Yorkshire but came to Newcastle to visit my son who's at uni here. We had less than an hour at the market. I found it very quaint. Loved the original M&S. We also liked the coffee stall. What a variety of beans! We also bought an aeropress coffee maker, which another coffee store hadn't had in stock. I wish we had more time to look around. Maybe next time we're up there.

User

Took my mum for lunch to the Grainger Market. With mum suffering from dementia I try to take her to places she might remember. When I was a child my mum would take me to the Market every Saturday I remember not being able to get down the isles of the Grainger Market for the amount of people hustling bustling. I was so sad that the Grainger Market is loosing its atmosphere. Took my mum for lunch. The only people that seem to use it theses days are elderly and disabled people. So sad I love the Grainger Market. I'm told the Rates are far to high. So people that have been there for years have packed up and left. Can't Newcastle City Council see what they are doing. So sad. 😢😓😪😢😥
