i have never had much concern for the health of my eyes until i started experiencing daily headaches. After having a rushed and unsatisfying sight test at a high street chain I booked into Hepworth’s Optician whilst visiting the north.



This was a completely different experience from any sight test i’ve had before. Hugh was extremely professional, taking his time to explain everything to me in an understandable way at each stage of the testing process. He was patient throughout and his impressive knowledge put me at ease.



Having never worn glasses before Hugh guided me through the process of selecting frames (which he knew a lot about) that are fashionable, practical and well within my price budget. He also helped me chose the most appropriate lenses for work/lifestyle. within the same week my new glasses arrived to my address in London. Two weeks later and the headaches have gone. Thanks Hugh, great customer service and value for money. I’ve had many compliments on them in the office.

With other opticians I have visited it always felt like a pitch to sell me a pair of glasses. Hepworth Opticians is the only opticians that I have been to, where I didn't feel like I was in a 15 minute sales pitch for a pair of glasses I don't really need.



The appointment was very thorough, and included a number of tests I have never seen before including a digital retina photograph which was very interesting. I left with a good understanding of my prescription and how my eyes work.



It was definitely the most professional eye test I have ever had, and the whole process feels like you are in a healthcare environment rather than just another glasses shop.

We have been beyond impressed by the service offered at Hepworth's Opticians. All staff we came into contact with were very professional and friendly. Hugh was excellent with our eight year old son and we felt that the testing, measuring and checking of glasses was very thorough. The choice of frames for children is superb and my son is delighted with his Zoobug ones. We will all use this practice for our family needs in the future. Many thanks X

It didn't take long for new specs to arrive. Hugh spent a lot of time and expertise to ensure they fitted perfectly.

I hadn't had my eyes checked since I was little and I was made to feel so comfortable and at ease. The customer service is outstanding and I am happy to be a new customer of theirs! Having had a few problems with my vision I popped into Hepworths and was offered assistance immediately. After a few tests I was informed that I had a detached retina - not the news I was expecting! After further intensive tests in the opticians I was sent to James Cook Hospital where they had been pre informed of my condition and the pathway to the main surgeon was so smooth. At 8pm that same evening I returned home having had my retina reattached and my sight saved. Great pleasure in highly recommending our new optician and wishing you success - you deserve it.
