Hexham And Newcastle Pilgrimage To Lourdes

Please pray for the coach group from Wallsend and Wrekenton who are setting off about 1.30am on Wednesday to begin their journey to Lourdes, via Lisieux. Safe journey to those pilgrims.

Youth Section 2019: Documents for those in the Youth Section travelling to Lourdes should be with you all by the weekend. The few who are flying will receive their flight info and an itinerary will be sent to all those travelling by coach.

PHOTOS: we have 192 Registered Helpers (adults and Youth) but only 133 Photos for the ID Badges. Have you sent in your photo selfie yet? Do you know someone who hasn't done this yet? Give them a nudge and tell them to send it in to lourdes@rcdhn.org.uk. Photos to be in by Sunday 14th July please.

Our neighbours to the north in Edinburgh are beginning their diocesan pilgrimage. We keep them in our prayers. We will be there doing the same thing in three weeks.

We posted on 13th June stating that we were short of photographs for the Helpers ID badges in Lourdes. We are still short of many peoples photos. If this applies to you, can you take a selfie against a plain white / cream background and send it in to lourdes@rcdhn.org.uk Many thanks.

The date for final payment has now passed and we are still awaiting a substantial amount of payments for the Youth Section. If you haven't sent in your payment yet please do as possible.

Preparation for all Helpers 2019 … we had 47 helpers for this years pilgrimage who didn't attend Preparation Day. This makes it very difficult for those organising the pilgrimage because our diocesan Insurance company expect us to make sure that all our helpers have a period of preparation every year before going on pilgrimage, whether they are people in professional working situations, retired or even young people at school or university. To help this situation which we f...ind ourselves in, all those 47 people are asked to attend a second preparation meeting that has been arranged on …. Sunday 30th June from 5.30pm - 7.30pm at St Aloysius Church Hall, Hebburn. We are very grateful to the people leading this preparation who have gone out of their way to make this second session possible, so it is hoped all those 47 non-attendees will make every effort to attend. Non attendance at this meeting will mean that pilgrimage organisers have to sit down and think about what happens to those who have not attended any preparation for 2019, which may include the possibility of not being able to offer service on pilgrimage.

Preparation Day 16th June 2019

PREPARATION DAY: Sunday 16th June is our Preparation Day for our Pilgrimage. This a day we are required to do by our Insurers. Non-attendance at this day may mean restricted "duties" on pilgrimage. The reason it is earlier is to try to get everyone onto a period of Preparation. There will not be a catch-up session in Lourdes. Non Attendance on Sunday will mean attendance at another meeting BEFORE we go to Lourdes. Non Attendance at the second meeting will mean no working in Lourdes. Please note: the date has not been changed; this is the original date that has been advertised since the beginning of the year.

The Diocesan Hospitalite Mass will be celebrated at St Robert of Newminster Church, Oldgate, Morpeth at 7pm on Monday 3rd June. The Annual General Meeting will be held after Mass in the Church Hall. All welcome to Mass. All members of the Diocesan Hospitalite are invited to come along to the AGM.

Our Pilgrimage Website has been updated this week with information from the Safeguarding Office. Adult Registered Helpers Form are due in NOW and so are Application Forms for the Youth Section. please, if you have yet completed these forms, send them to the Pilgrimage Office as soon as possible.

Today, 30th April, was the day we asked all our Adult Helpers and members of the Youth Section for the 2019 Pilgrimage to register with the Pilgrimage Office. Have you forgotten the deadline? Please send in your Registration Forms or Youth Application Forms as soon as possible
