A splash of rain has brought our gardens here at Hungate back to life. Here’s a view up the drive with a glimpse of Hungate Garden Cottage and the path through to Saltersgate Cottage.

We stayed in Danbydale early Feb for a long weekend with family. The cottages are just off the main road, although it's so quiet you wouldn't know it - just a 5 minute walk into the town, which has numerous places for an excellent breakfast (highly recommend Cafe Cocoa!) or dinner, & perfectly located for easy access to lovely walking. The cottage itself was well furnished, with every little thing thought of, couldn't fault it. Richard & Rachel are very welcoming, & happy to help with any queries or advice about the area. Hopefully we will return very soon!

We have just returned from our 22nd visit to Hungate Cottages and before we had even left we had booked our 23rd visit in September. The cottages have always been of excellent quality but over our time we have seen alterations and improvements to make them even better, it is always good to see them. The gardens always are tidy and well booked after. We have only two more cottages to holiday in before we have completed all eleven but obviously we have our favorites where we have visited on more than one occasion. All of the cottages are of the same quality and decor and are unique (it is worth reading the history of the complex in the information booklets in each cottage). The area around Pickering gives something for everybody to see and visit and Pickering itself has everything you need. A warm, friendly welcome is always given.

We had a lovely family stay for 5 days - will make sure we come back X

User

We are currently staying in Levisham Cottage. It's brilliant, lovely accommodation, great town and surrounding area. Richard & Rachel, who run the cottages are superb. Well worth a 5* rating.

User

Visited here for a few days from Australia with my Aunty and uncle who are regulars. What a delightful experience......... so homely, warm, inviting, clean and full of atmosphere. Each cottage has its own little garden spot and is supplied with everything you could need to cater for yourself. Easy walk into Pickering proper and close to Lidl if you want to cater for yourself. Lovely memories to take back with us

User

Me and my family won a competition to stay for a long weekend. We were welcomed by Rachel and her family and shown the lovely cottage. It’s in a great location, right near the centre of Pickering. The cottage was so clean and everything had clearly been well looked after.

Thank you so much for letting me and family come for a little visit. Hopefully we’ll be able to come back again

User

Lovely place. Amazing accommodation. I think they've thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. We'll be back.

User

Just ending our 3rd winter break in the Levisham cottage, sat in front of a lovely log fire on a chilly March night. The cottage is excellent with all mod cons in a great location - so close to all local amenities of Pickering but just far away from the main road to be so quiet & peaceful. There are so many lovely places to visit within a 25 mile radius of the cottage from the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Filey & Whitby to museums as found in York plus good food pubs, churches, county houses & gardens, forests, markets & quaint towns & villages in every direction. A week isn't really long enough to do it all, even in winter, & no one of any age will have time to be bored. I can't praise these cottages too highly & would recommend them to anyone whether it be a quite relaxing holiday they wanted or an adventure packed non-stop break what ever the time of year. Why not try for yourself - you'll not be disappointed x

User
