Went with my Daughter and Granddaughter food was hot and tasty staff were polite and helpful

We often pop in here on the way back from shopping in town, as we did here. The food is always good and the prices are very reasonable.

Staff ate great too.

Me and my husband have been coming here for years In fact we had our wedding reception there when you had the room at your back. We visited yesterday as it was my husbands 50th we found the staff to be friendly and the food to be delicious ÔøΩ hoping to visit soon for our wedding anniversary on the 6th!

I'm a proper foodie and have ate at places all over the country but this is by far the the best place for a steak. I can't comment on any of the other things on the menu as I only come here for my steak which is of good quality and cooked to perfection I've yet to be disappointed by this place.

have been to the hungry horse lots of times when visiting from belfast my uncle lives just round the corner , and have to say have never been disappointed with the food and service we have received, will b back again on next visit to Newcastle

I've been to various incarnations of this pub for over 40 years. We came for the quiz and I have to say a great time was had by all. The recent refurb looks good and I didn't eat but my friends enjoyed their food. Only problem was the mic was muffled which made the questions difficult.

Great family atmosphere, had a lovely curry followed by cheesecake. It was Monday so the children ate for £1 😊.

I will be going back with the family ‚úÖ.

A busy Friday evening pup packed with family dinners,always a good sign. We managed to get a table for ten family members. We all ordered the burger meals as there was a bogof deal. We were not disappointed with our burgers, plenty of chips, coleslaw etc. Staff were pleasant and friendly and our 8month great, great nephew was fascinated with the staff's Halloween costumes. We were asked if we were happy with our meals. Table was cleared away straight after our meal. If I had read the previous reviews, I would have been put off. Glad we went as we all had enjoyable evening and would definitely return again.

Went last night, yes football was on be we were there earlier at about 5.30pm. We were a group of 9 and 3 of us stood at bar to order food. First 2 got served then the barman walked down to the other end of the bloody bar!? After at least 5 minutes the assistant manager eventually served me. This therefore meant there was a massive wait between our meals. I paid 79p for a cheese slice for my daughter's burger. This wasn't on her burger so then I was handed it on a plate. Honestly shocking service and mediocre food.

After being told our food would be 1/2 hour we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food then got told it was because of the weather really never had a problem before but today was ridiculous then food come n it was warm but had waited that long for just coped with it people should be told if there is gonna be a big delay like that kids were restless n hungry

was proper microwave food no mash for a sunday dinner! we go allover for sunday food and leave feedback everywhere we go and this has to be one of the worst, it was like kiddies meals, no enough for a man, food was poor, when we got ours we had already paid for it but would have left it no problem and went to another place,

we did sort of eat it but defo not going back

Waited 45 minutes for food, sizzling chicken skewers on a bed of onions and peppers!!! Dried teaspoon full of non-sizzling vegetables cold chips and rice. Told the waiter to be told “right” then disappeared, I was offered a fresh meal after going to the bar to speak to a team leader who said she would sort it out but had to wait a further 15 minutes!! Cold food, untrained staff and an altogether shambles. Further speaking to the manager Fiona who’s attitude was just altogether rude and didn’t care at all about our complaints. And was extremely sarcastic. Won’t return

The worst fish and chips I've ever eaten (50% of the fish was over cooked and inedible) served by the world's angriest waitress. I thought about complaining but she would have probably headbutted me.

Terrible! Came here after i had just done the great north run, obviously starving! Me and the family had ordered separately but had to wait around 10-15 mins for my food and the rest of the family were finished theirs! I ordered a chicken burger which came in the wrong bun which was also hard as nails, my chips were cold! When we asked to speak to someone they offered me a fresh burger but it would be in the same bun as they had ran out but i was not aware so it was pretty pointless and they gave me fresh chips where the woman told me they had just come out the fryer? They should of anyway? When asked to speak to a manager, fiona who came to our table and stared at us like we had just killed a puppy did absoloutey nothing but make excuses and said i told you i would change the burger however i didnt want the exact same burger i just wanted to enjoy my meal! So disappointed! They need a change of staff.

Not exactly the best place for food now! Order a kids pasta with carrots, carrots come out raw, come on a Thursday, order a cow pie to be told it’s not in stock as it’s off the menu from Monday, what about the rest of the week including the weekend?!?!



Won’t be returning any more!!!!

Myself and my partner popped in here today for a Sunday lunch it was absolutely disgusting..waited ages at the bar.. waitress spilt all the gravy from my plate all over the table and nearly all over my trousers. The beef was not real beef processed. Veg was all frozen.will not return.

If I could give 0 stars I would, my partner ordered a chicken burger which was soaked in grease which he ended up leaving. Then I found a dirty black hair in my corn on the cob, told the staff which they only offered a refund on my corn on the cob.. but this had obviously put me off the rest of my meal then when leaving I got the biggest dirty look off the staff. Biggest waste of money and wouldn't come back ever.

Bought a double JD and Diet Coke and they give me it in a small glass. I asked for a larger glass and to top it up with a splash of coke. I was then asked to pay another 60p for a splash of coke. I contested but was told by a rude barman ‘that’s the rules mate’. Not impressed.
