As you are well aware by now, here in Hunter&Walsh we love a toner! But what we love even more is a Gloss Toner. This is exactly the same as your usual toner but it is mixed with an intensive shine treatment. We recommend that you have a gloss toner if you have spent too much time in the sun ☀ and your salon colour is looking a bit scorched. This will refresh your colour without a full reapplication of your usual colour, giving you back your salon fresh shade. Gloss toners are £15 and can be booked through our online booking app or our website www.hunterandwalsh.com, or if you would like to add it into your next service that you have already booked, call the Reception Team and they will be more than happy to add that on for you 01736360022 . 🤗

If you want to make the transition from dark to light we recommend doing it in stages. Depending on how dark your hair is to start with, it can take anything from 3 sessions up. We will always make sure that every stage is beautiful. We highly recommend WellaPlex at every stage. WellaPlex will repair and maintain the structure and health of your hair. She has previously coloured her hair with red and dark shades and wants to gradually become lighter. Let me tell you about Colour Fresh Create, this wonderful colour is temporary but lasts true to colour for 20 washes. What true to colour means is, it doesn't change and go a different colour it simply fades down through the same shade until it is so pale its gone. It is a great way to have a splash of colour, you can go super bright or we can mix it to make it pastel. The colours are all completely intermixable so your choices are limitless. These colours are at their brightest on bleached hair but can be used on any shade. Watch closely and you will see the toner change before your eyes 👀 like magic.
If you are trying to become lighter over time you will get to know the benefits of toners. Lifting out old colour can reveal lots of warm tones in your hair, to neutralise them we use a toner, this won't darken what we have lightened but it will marry all the tones together for a lovely finish.
We choose the right toner by using the colour wheel, if we see red we will choose a green based toner, i...f we see orange we will use blue. Clever eh?! 😍
Toners do fade so to maintain your tone until your next visit we highly recommend a Glossing Toner service about half way between visits. We charge £15 for this service.

Nadine's happy place 😊 behind the chair, hairdryer in hand, creating beautiful hairstyles for her loyal clients. Nadine's favourite products for blow drying short hair with volume are a pea sized amount of MoroccanOil Thickening lotion with a good spritz of Root Boost then finished with a small amount of MoroccanOil Finishing Spray for hold. No... I am not working on a Sunday but I wanted to show you what I found this week! I have a house full of children, the football is on and in the salon I get distracted too easily by all you lovely clients coming in!! I struggle to find a quiet space to work. My experience at Hunter and Walsh has been incredible. Was given my first appointment with stylist Louise Roberts and she chopped my hair short when I needed a change from my long locks. As someone who is bad at getting a regular cut I will be completely returning here more regularly to let Louise do my hair and avoid my dead ends that I got before coming to hunter and walsh. My second visit was for a baylage which was was very exciting! Louise did an amazing job with my hair was ecstatic with results and colour was awesome!Definitely felt the whole experience in this salon from start to finish was wonderful and would highly recommend to any of my friends and family!

In the area for business, popped in on the off chance they might have a walk in appointment available. Freya fitted me in between appointments, and I have to say I’m delighted with the haircut! A wonderful salon that also does children’s cuts. My little girl loved having her first ever hair cut here today with Freya. It was a lovely touch to give her some little hair grips in a cute little bag, she absolutely loves them and it made the occasion even more special. Thank you ladies x

My first and last encounter with a certain member of staff wasn’t a very pleasant one. Actually my car broke down just in front of the salon entrance. I just managed to get the car on the side so that it didn’t block the lane on the road completely. Being stranded on the side I called AA assistance, got the emergency lights on and waited as the car was unable to move. It took about 10 minutes until Mrs. Morris appeared on the pavement. Instead of checking if either myself or my travel companion are in any sort of trouble (remember the emergency lights we on) she informed us, that parking on a double yellow line and in addition to that blocking the cyclist lane, is not allowed and that the police will turn up soon. I told her, that the car actually broke down and that it won’t be able to move on its own. You could now think oh well, she might have offered some help – no. Mrs Morris at her best behaviour, raised her voice and explained again, that the car can’t be parked there and if the police will come around I will get a ticket. Dear Mrs. Morris: again as you obviously didn’t get it: the car was broken down!!! It could not move!!! So she left and was never seen again. I am German and my knowledge of the English language might not be the best. But dear Mrs. Morris was the first person in 20 years of UK travel experience that could not understand the current situation. It took nearly 2 hours until AA services turned up. Sorry, the salon might be excellent in doing hair – but the social behaviour of Mrs. Morris, especially towards tourists in need of help, is appalling. Watching people from the desk, sitting in bright sun in an overheated car waiting for help and not even offering a glass of water or the option to wait in the entrance are escaping the sun is really showing the best of English courtesy. Well done Mrs. Morris.
