It brings me sadness to tell all you amazing customers that Hunters will close its doors for good this Wednesday the 25th of April. I’d like to thank every single person who came in and who supported us from the start. Our last service will be Wednesday night so please book in so that we can make it a night to remember! I’d personally like to thank all my friends and family who have supported me this year, your constant hard work this year will never be forgotten!
To the sta...ff, past and present, with out you guys doing what you do, this place wouldn’t of been the same, your hard work will always be remembered and appreciated.

Would just like to say thank you for a gorgeous meal tonight which I won on a FB competition the steak was absolutely cooked to perfection and the sides were really nice the Diane & peppercorn sauce were really good myself & my daughter loved it once again thank you will definitely recommend Hunters to anyone xx

Stumbled into hunters with my husband looking for some lunch and was so impressed we booked for xmas eve. We started with pork belly which was lovely and Parmesan crispy potato skins they were lovely but the best was to come with the cod. The staff were accommodating when we asked for the skin off when it came it was beautiful full of flavour and the fish was just breaking up it was cooked to perfection with not a bone in it. We then had a brownie with home made salted caramel ice cream which was light and not at all sickly but the chocolate taste was lovely and a Eton mess which was delicious. We ended up chatting with the chef a lovely fella who when he talks you can tell he is in the right profession as he has a real passion for food and asked on numerous occasions if we were happy with the food as he wouldn't want us to have something we were not happy with. Me and my husband were thouroughly impressed and will be returning regularly. And to top it off which is a big plus for me the toilets were immaculate. Couldn't reccomend the place more highly.

Just had a gorgeous meal cooked by our good friend Jack. Belly pork starter melted in the mouth and salmon with butternut squash risotto was to die for. Highly recommend folks get yourselves there for top quality food.

Had the most amazing dinner with my boyfriend. Had the turkey from the new menu and it was stunning highly recommend this restaurant to any one who loves good food. �

Had a wonderful meal for our Silver Wedding Anniversary at Hunters. Food was absolutely delicious and service was excellent we even got glasses of fizz with meal from the owner for free (nice touch) thank you. We will definitely be returning and recommending Hunters to all our family & friends

Had a meal here today with family and ordered from the Christmas menu (£13.95 for 2 courses). It was our first time at Hunters and we were all really impressed with the decor, atmosphere, and attention to detail. The menu had a large selection to choose from and we tried things such as, wild mushrooms on toast, chicken liver parfait, beef cheek, and the turkey Ballentine - every meal was cooked to perfection and can honestly say it was the best food I've had dining out in Hartlepool.

Fully recommend the taster menu, delish! Some of the best food I've ever eaten, and the soup was amazing! Well done Hunters restaurant

Dropped in for tea last night without booking.

Started off with lovely cocktails and we had the Hunters one and a Whisky one but can’t remember the name!- both absolutely lovely.

All of the food was so tasty and we couldn’t fault it- I just wish I’d ordered the Baba now for dessert after seeing it on the FB page - I was torn �

We waited quite a while between our starter and main course- I don’t like to feel as if I’m being rushed with my meal- but even for me it was a tad too long. But that was the only observation- not a complaint.

Drinks were reasonable we thought compared to other restaurants we’ve been to- £15 for a bottle of wine is cheaper than most.

The service was attentive, it’s a nice atmosphere and the menu is small but perfectly cooked.

Looking forward to our next visit �

Amazing restaurant, fantastic food, service and atmosphere! Loved everything we ordered! Every course and the home made bread was delicious! Deserts were absolutely amazing, brownies and caramel sauce. Think my partner regretted not getting your Eton Mess after sampling your meringue! Compliments to your chef! Would highly recommend and cannot wait for our next visit to sample more of your delights!!!

Smashing little place! Food is lovely, service is attentive and overall quality and value is great. For some reason it seems quite hard for places on the marina to be viable and many close or change hands after a few months in business but I hope that is not the case with Hunters - this place deserves to be a success.

Went today for Mother’s Day Sunday lunch, food was really nice, but waited such a long time for each course. We waited an hour between starter and main, and especially with young children this is difficult and too long. Lunch took 3 hours! It was not busy either. Asked for a few things that never turned up. I feel service and atmosphere could be better, such a shame as delicious food.

We went to Hunters for my Daughters birthday. We had the christmas dinner. Everyone enjoyed the main courses and the meats where cooked beautiful. However it was ore booked only to be told for one guest that there was no trifle which was ordered in advance. The customers service was ok but they seemed to be more interested in a table that were family friends. To me the atmosphere was flat. Im probably gonna give it another try but I didnt get the wow factor last night after reading all the good reviews

Was really looking forward to trying here for my mums birthday and was disappointed by the lack of choice on the menu.. We also had to wait ages for starter to come out and then another long wait for main course! And there was only our table and one other table in entire restaurant at the time. Whilst eating staff were tidying around us and just got general impression that they were waiting for us to leave so could close up. Food was nice but service and choice let the experience down.

Not sure why this restaurant gets mixed reviews from both ends of the spectrum, when it's more than capable of getting 4 and 5 stars all the time. We've given it 3 stars (good), as the Sunday lunch was lovely, but a few small things let it down. No crackling arrived with the pork, we never received our mashed potato, roast potatoes were missing off one meal and I'm always suspicious when venues have regular problems with their card machines and you have to pay cash?? Other than that, I know we'll give Hunters another try, as the food we did receive was very nice and I hope it strives to get better so more people give it a try and help it stay open and improve. Children also eat free from a select menu, which is a great idea.

So dissapointed our first time trying Hunters we decided to go for a Sunday dinner. We entered and after standing a while(no staff about) we seated ourselves at a table. No one came over again so we thought it must of been self service. could see the other few tables all eating sunday lunch. After a while husband went up to the bar to order our food and drinks and the lady said we are fully booked?? There was loads of empty tables and people eating did they not think to mention this as soon as we came through the door no staff to be seen? Such a shame as the inside looks lovely will not be returning unfortunatly poor management.

It was Date night tonight, but unfortunately it all went down hill with the meal at Hunters Restaurant.



The waitress that served us is the only saving grace for the evening Shame she wasn't the Chef.



I ordered the Rib Eye & only regret not taking a picture to show you all, as it wasn't fit for the plate. I let them know when the waitress came over. She could see that it looked bad & said she would tell the manager.



The disappointing part of the experience is that no one came over to speak about it (-1� for bad customer service). Any good chef that cares about their customers & cares about what they put on a plate before it gets served, would have never let it leave the kitchen. No such luck at hunters....



The bill was delivered & I paid for a steak that wasn't eaten & no apology or reduction of the bill & no more custom from me & everyone I know!
