It has been fantastic to see our centre buzzing with activity as a result of today’s hugely popular Build A Bear event. Due to higher than expected demand, we’re sorry that the queue for Build A Bear is now closed and no one else will be able to join the line. This is to make sure there are enough bears available for those already in the queue.

Visiting from Glasgow and I came to metro centre today with my 4 month old son and would just like to say how amazing the baby changing facility next to primark are! in the 4 months I’ve been using public baby changing this is by far the best one I have ever been to, usually I’m dreading using them as they are stinking, dirty, and generally so hard to get in and out as they are tiny but not this one today, thought it was brilliant having lots of baby changing areas with sinks and bins underneath and then an area to make bottles and even two tommee tippee bottle warmers, then 4 seats and a breastfeeding private area, even an area for older children to play with an interactive tv, actually blown away by how well thought out this baby changing area, thank you intu metro centre

The Metro Centre has a nice relaxing atmosphere. Loads of free parking spaces plus the car parks are undergoing a revamp to make the parking bays wider which is a big improvement. There are maps to be found in plenty of areas to find what you're looking for or customer information points in each quadrant staffed by very pleasant people. A very clean and tidy experience maintained in a high standard. A place for 'us in the north east' to be proud of.

User

Metrocentre is really setting a new standard with its christmas decorations and now, with festive fragrances all over the store. As i walked in, I instantly felt christmassy and felt that you have really set the scene for a festive shopping experience! Thanks guys! x

I want to give my sincere thanks to one of your employees who I believe is called Chelsie.

Whilst sitting near Shakeaholic today (21.01.2018) with my husband and three children, she approached us and said she had to comment on how beautiful my children’s hair colour is. My children have red hair, and Chelsie’s comments couldn’t have came at a better time. My daughter is currently going through a really difficult time with bullying, due to the colour of her hair. It put a smile on my daughter’s face to get a compliment about her hair from a total stranger.

Thank you Chelsie, for the much needed confidence boost for my daughter.

I visited with my family a few weeks back and my seven year old daughter ran straight into a glass fronted shop. She had a huge bump, was crying and in a shocked state.

I nipped into Starbucks to ask if we could have some ice (worth noting my daughter didn’t hurt herself in Starbucks). We were given plenty of ice, told to take a seat until my daughter felt better, the manager even brought her a drink to help calm her down.

So a big thank you to the Starbucks staff, we weren’t even customers but the customer service they demonstrated was fantastic.

I always enjoy a day out at the metro centre. There seemed to be a lot of refurbishment work going on this time and my favourite Costa seemed to have closed. Made up for it by having a cocktail at 'oh you pretty things " which was lovely and the staff were very welcoming. It's a great place to shop and have a cocktail!

User

Couldn’t praise all staff enough thank you for all our goodies and helping to occupy inpatient children whilst queuing hours for build a bear yous went above and beyond to entertain children whilst waiting well done

User

After several days trying to track down an order that was delivered to red mall, yes that's the only delivery address I had, it was finally found by the wonderful Chelsie and Kev. What superstars, Hollister delivered it to new look who thought someone had dropped it in store, so they put it in their lost property bin! Hollister were no help at all, but you're staff were amazing, can't believe they found it. I can't thank them enough.

I ve always enjoyed the metro until recently, I bought a fur bag from a shop called amon in the metro centre for my daughter for Christmas. The bag in January started to come apart on the strap all the stitching came loose. When I went to ask for an exchange they refused and told me I had 28 days, I did point out that is only if you are unhappy with a product which I was nt it was unfit for purpose. The number they told me to ring on receipt is not there head office or anything to do with them it's a pharmaceutical company which told me they d be millionaires if they had a pound for every call they received.

User

Love the Metro centre. There's always lots of places and choice for food and drinks. Lots of places for bathroom breaks too and usually spotless. By using the app you can get free wifi and get updates etc.

I have noticed quite a few empty units and this is a bit sad. It would be great to get local independent traders and shops opened to help the local economy. In the larger units a farmers market type area selling local produce would be fantastic!

User

I was working at the metro centre in house of fraiser. I'd love to spend the day actually shopping there. Looks like there's loads to do. They only down side for people working there is the distance that the staff car park is from the loading bay. I got lost collecting my van from the car park and if it wasn't for my razor sharp wit I would of taken a wrong turn and ended up going south bound down the A1 which would have been disastrous.

A few more signs would be a great addiction.

The distance between the two locations are so vast I heard Sir Mo Farah does he's marathon training there.

Howay man, it's still a great place

User

Parking is almost impossible here at busy times and even if you do get in, it's a pretty soulless experience.

Customer service I got from this young girl and this other women in primark was awful felt so embarrassed. Went to the counter to pay my things amoung the stuff was a pair of bikini bottoms which I tried on but with my underwear underneath as I normally do. It was the only one in my size and there was only maybe a few 3 others in others on the hangers. Before I tried them on I noticed the sticky protector what's meant to be left on was stuck to the price tag.knowing this I defo tried on with my underwear just to see the fit and ask when I go to the counter if there's any more in the stockroom. The girl wouldn't go near the knickers and said sorry I can't, I can't touch them and threw them down as soon as she seen that it wasn't meant to be there. Making my face red as a tomato, she tried to make out that i done it which made me even more Embarrassed. I tried to explain to her and the other women who then got involved just to ask if there was any more sizes. At the end of it I didn't get the bottoms and took the top off as it wouldn't match with any others bottom I already have. The girl was so unpatience ringing the bell every 2 seconds for someone to take it off. I think the girl just needed to have a look at herself the way she came across so bratty it was awful. Metro center overall is always good. This experience in primark not so much ☺

carpark is meant to be covered by cctv yet a young lad had his car scratched and they say there's no cctv, disgusting

Today me and my children and partner traveled from Middlesbrough to metro centre for shipping and food as we often do. Today we had 2 children with us one whom is 4 who really wanted to go round the centre in the children’s cars you can hire as any one with children can relate to what it is like having to walk round a large shopping centre after only a few shops legs are tired they can’t possibly walk any longer and so on.. I approached what I later found out to be let say a jobs worth of a woman at the desk in the red mall. I asked about hiring one of the children’s cars. My son ran round them all excitied sitting in them carefully selecting which one he wanted it was like his dreams were coming true... the “jobs worth” said oh I need to see how tall he is so I said that’s fine excited he stood up against the height chart being a little bit over the line she barked no he’s to tall and started to walk off as u can imagine the horror on my sons face he started to cry when I explained he wasn’t allowed one obviously he was totally past himself. As she has just rushed of with no compassion or explanation for him to try and console him I had to approach her again and I said to her his shoes have quite a large sole on as you can see if he takes them off he is not over the height she then barked well he needs shoes on in the car I explained I understood that but he wouldn’t be stood up on the car and would be sat down she totally brushed us off and the screaming 4 year old on the floor and just sat back down like we were not even there. He was literally less than 1cm over I would argue he was actually over the line if he was a lot taller I would explain but he wasn’t I’m totally disgusted at the lack of compassion my son was shown how she could snarl no you’re to tall and walk off leaving him screaming not one ounce of remorse for the little boy crying on the floor. She should hang her head in shame probably gets kicks out of making little boys cry.. absolute power trip over the children’s cars

The Metrocentre don’t deserve its customers. I got a £90 parking ticket today for parking over the lines between two bays. Reasonable you might think, except for the fact that the car park was half empty and I was only there 10 minutes. If they put the same effort into cleaning he place up the experience would be so much more pleasurable. I’m tempted not to come back and spend my money elsewhere, no wonder shopping centres are on their knees when they at run by such small minded and jealous individuals.

User

Parking fine for parking in a disabled bay with a disabled badge. Caught the parking attendant doing it he admitted he was wrong and removed the fine. 3 months later a letter through the post demanding payment.
