One of my favourite Pilates mobility exercises that focuses on improving thoracic rotation!

Imagine you‚Äôve got a piece of string on top of your head pulling you towards the ceiling!... ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ ‚úÖ Try to keep your arms the same distance apart throughout the exercise ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ‚ÄĒ ‚úÖ Breathe in to prepare and breathe out as you start to rotate.

Roll down into Downward dog!
‚úÖ Segmental movement of the spine - aim to move each vertebrae (one after another) as if you were rolling the spine down towards the floor.
... ‚úÖ Soft the knees if you need to! Hamstring tightness is common (even some physios struggle with it ūüôčūüŹĽ‚Äć‚ôāÔłŹ)
‚úÖ Aim to keep the lower back flat during downward dog. To increase the stretch drive the heels towards the floor.
Hold the stretch for 30 seconds before returning to the roll down.

Unfortunately being in isolation and staying at home doesn’t mean that injuries don’t happen!
For that reason I have decided to offer FREE tele-health Physiotherapy appointments.
... Tele-health appointments are via a video app called Zoom. I can go through a full assessment including a series of questions and special tests to diagnose injuries.
Following this I can educate on your pain levels, activity modification and demonstrating correct technique of any exercises provided!
All exercises can then be sent you by email so you have videos and diagrams to keep you on track!
