Well one word for it.... Amazing! We've done most of the Christmas days out in the north east but nothing blew us away like yesterday's day out at kielder winter wonderland! From start to finish was truly magical and busy!! Unlike most events this really is a full day out, we were there from 10am to 4pm dispite the worst weather we've had for weeks- typical!!

The staff are a real credit, they are all so child friendly and all the way through the kids are made centre of attention! Truly magical day out and will become our new Christmas tradition! Just have to wait a whole year before we go again!!

User

We had a wonderful day today at kielder. Could not fault the experience especially when the kids met the 'real' santa. But perhaps the best bit of all was the absolutely amazing customer service we received from your staff. About 1/2 mile away from KWW my 2 yr old daughter was travel sick anf projectile vomited all over the back of the car, herself and me. We arrived at the gates with a crying toddler and a car stinking to high heaven. The gate staff kindly let us drive right to the door of the visitor centre and then the lovely ladies in the vc got us some bags and things to clean our car while I used their toilet behind reception to change her and clean us both up. The lovely lady even brought us some baby wipes and got her an elf from the gift shop to make her feel better. 15min later our day went from disastrous to being back on track. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You're life savers.

User

We had a lovely day at the winter wonderland. There was plenty to do so we were not hanging around in between activities in the cold. The food in the Boat Inn for lunch was lovely and not extortionate. Santa was excellent and really made the day magical for the children.

All staff made sure the children were at the front so could see everything and the theatre staff coped excellently with some very eager children shouting out and joining in the story. Rather than trying to get them to hush they got them on stage and engaged them.

The snow tubing is excellent though there’s a long queue at times.

The old thing that was not good was the ice rink. It was very hard to use as it’s plastic rather than ice. One circuit and we had enough. It’s more of a slippy walk round than a skate.

Overall a fantastic day. Worth the money and the drive. Some very happy children (and adults) after a lovely family outing. Really sets the magical scene for Christmas.

User

We Visited winter wonderland on mon 19th dec. 2 adults and a 5 year old and 2 year old.

We found the event was really well organised and not too busy. Any queuing we had to do wasnt too long. The acts were fab and the staff so enthusiastic throughout. The quality of gifts were great and a nice touch to get a gift for adults too.

Unfortunately we missed mrs claus due to mis reading the time on our itinery but can say our fav activity was the elves workshop my 5 year old loved making the reindeer and we found it hillarious when my husband was picked to 'volunteer'

We were lucky to have a mild dry day as most of the day is outdoors and may have been hard going in the rain.

Only thing we feel could have enhanced the event would be more outdoor christmas lights and possibly some false snow..even if just in the area around santas kabin.. my daughter had pictured the whole place covered in snow and was confused there wasnt any!

Over all a fab day and worth the money

User

This was out first time and we absolutely loved it!

The staff were friendly and helpful and the characters were brilliant. They never slipped out of character and were always making sure the children were at the front.

The ticket price was very resonable compared to other similar attractions and the gifts the children and adults received were lovely.

Our events were well spaced out leaving us time to enjoy all the other attractions.

If you are looking for somewhere to go and make memories with your children then this has it all. If you are looking for a wonderland full of stalls and fairground rides then this is probably not for you.

User

The memories we nade will be memories for a very long time

We had an amazing day with lots of laughter singing and dancing and we still are

Hog roast in a bun with stuffing and apple sauce sat on a hay bale was a highlight that my son is still telling everyone about

The shows were brilliant the performers were brilliant

Daffodilwas so funny and the elves workshop and santa just made a great day perfect

I could not fault one thing

Thankyou keilder for making us all believe xx

User

Just returned from a lovely day at kielder winter wonderland out second time visiting. Very festive and enjoyable but only small negative but is that we felt a little rushed in the workshop to move onto Santa trail through forest. We were told to take our bits and pieces and finish at home. The elf leading us through forest also went a bit to fastg for some of us in group to keep up considering The elves workshop and Santa is the highlight and main part of the day. Other than that thank you for a fabulous day. The other point is we felt anyone could really walk into the wonderland no elves wandering like we experienced 3 years meeting and greeting and checking tickets was only when we got to elves workshop we were asked for children's name to tick them off the list

User

Just got back from our weekend in winter wonderland and we loved it! The staff were amazing, activities were well spread out and had plenty of time to get the best from each area. The food and drink in the boat house was nice and well priced would definitely go back again next year!

User

Im not easy to please as this sort of thing really isn't me, I know bah humbug and all that, BUT

What a great event, my kids wife and I all throughly enjoyed the day and all those involved should feel very proud of the truly magical experience they provide.

The energy and enthusiasm is contagious, we loved it.

It's also worth mentioning that we stayed at one of the amazing lodges and along with the experience is worth every penny.

If there were 6 stars these guys would get that.

User

Hi, we visited yesterday with our 2 children (6 and 9) Our daughter (9) is in a wheelchair and I was a little apprehensive about the experience! I was so wrong....1st stop was Mrs Christmas....she made a point of making sure my little one didn't miss a thing!!! And so did all the other staff throughout the day!!! We all had an amazing day and we will definitely be coming back next year.....i have 2 minor things to maybe point out for next year....a few of the tracks were really hard with the wheelchair (bearable but my back is hurting today haha) the other one is there isn't much time between activites to grab food....maybe half an hour extra between would give a family of 4/5 to take a break and refresh with food and drink xx Merry Christmas to you all....keep up the good work!!! Loved the adult gifts too xxx

User

Had our first winter wonderland experience at kielder yesterday with my husband and two sons (aged 3 and 6). We travelled over 90 minutes each way to get to the event and happily it was well worth the journey. We left plenty of time to travel so we didn't feel rushed or hassled - there was no queuing to get into the car park etc. Our first appointment was the elves workshop and visit to santa which was lovely and my boys were thrilled that santa spoke to them personally and knew special things about them. All of the other experiences were great - the characters made sure the children were at the front in them all so that nobody missed out. They all engaged really well with the children and were happy to pose for photos at the end.

We had brought our own food but did buy a few additional bits from the catering tent which was pretty reasonably priced.

The snow tubing was great although not such a big hit with my 3 year old, however I think he was just tired and grumpy as this was the end of our day. My initially nervous 6 year old loved it!

My only criticism is the ice-rink - I had thought yesterday maybe there was a problem with it as it seemed to be just wet plastic as opposed to proper ice, however looking it people's comments from last year it seems that this is the normal rink. We ended up not bothering with it as people couldn't skate properly and were just sort of clip-clopping around on it! A real ice rink is definitely needed.

Other than that we had a magical day and will definitely return next year, perhaps to stay in one of the lodges if we are lucky!

User

Excellent, performances were excellent, gifts for kids and adults excellent, weather clear but freezing didn't bother us, 4 years ago there were floods! Our 10/11 yr old probably slightly too old but our 7 year old thought it was magic and 9 year old enjoyed it too. Some minor feedack, if you have a performance finishing after 12 it's nearly impossible to get served food for a 1.50 performance - speedier options would be a good idea or self catering if others are visiting later this month - go to the catering tent.

User

5 stars isn't enough!!!!! We had the best day making memories!

Staff were lovely. The beavers were the funniest thing I've ever seen. Getting my husband up to dance is a hard task, but Mr & Mrs beaver managed to get him up!

And Santa! I was in tears listening to it. It was so magical.

We missed the first activity as it's all booked in time slots and our bus didn't arrive in time.

The kids (ages 9,5,4) have not stopped talking about it.

Well done to everyone involved in making our day so magical.

All activities were included in the price, except the £1 coin to feed the reindeer.

Ice skates had no hire charge.

Food was fantastic, the Yorkshire wraps were amazing!!!!! And not overly priced. We didn't try the boat house for the carvery.

Wrap up warm tho cos it is freezing!

User

Santa was amazing, kids loved seeing him and so did we.

Also cuckoo man was really funny and an enjoyable part of the day

Toy workshop was very small and we were last in and my son couldn't sit down as lots of parents in the way of the 2 spare chairs. Very rushed and we didn't get to finish making the toy

Panto wasnt a great story, the kids didnt understand why they were talking about porridge and a dog but the team did put alot of effort into performance thought it would be based more around christmas

Mrs Christmas was quite entertaining, kids did enjoy the magic part

The Beavers was the oddest part of the day, i maybe missed the point but i wasnt sure what was going on. But it was amusing waving the stick of hope in the air but my 8 year old son did not enjoy it

Tube slide, really good

Ice rink was plastic and very wet so kids were soaked and a bit dangerous

Foods and drink was nice , barn was warm to sit in

Toilets were awful, worst ive been in. It was the end of the day when i went. But they were dirty will lots of waste and dirty underwear and nappies on the floor.

We did have a very wet day so that maybe put a bit of a dampner on it.

Lovely place and parks etc prob amazing in the summer.

User

Not enough time in Elves workshop due to the group being so large. We were last to collect the bits to make the snowman so struggled to find a seat at the tables due to the group being to large and had only been sat down 5 mins when we got told to pack away therefore it was still in bits and grandson disappointed. The Welsh Elf needs to have a lesson in politeness as she was just rude numerous times. Restaurant queues were disgusting, no organisation, no communication, twice I asked for coffee and never received it, was not told it was a 2 course set menu so paid £13.95 per person for 1 course. Toilets smelt. Only positive was Santa very authentic.Very disappointing overall

User

Just got back from today's visit its our 2nd time and it will be the last. Far too busy for the amount of room they have for the children to watch the performances. Elf's workshop was a total let down as the kids were shown how to make something but given no longer than 5 minutes to make and finish it before you get asked to leave. Ice rink! What ice rink, blocks of wet plastic. Gifts for the adults are good and kids enjoyed seeing santa and getting a gift. Merry Christmas.

User

Been today; to be honest it was nowhere near what we expected. Can't fault the staff and effort put in but wasn't particularly that festive and was so rushed. Too many children for the elves work shop and the kids barely had time to make anything as we were rushed off to let the next group in. For Mrs's Christmas far to big a group and could get nowhere near to hear what she was saying. We made the best of it but really disappointed, only reason I didn't rate a 2 star was due to the staff as they were good.

Far to regimented, too big a group and not particularly festive.

User

Actors were really good, activities and shows seemed good, very different to all other Christmas experiences I’ve tried. Only problem was too many people in our group. Our children were squashed into seats to try an see the shows, sometimes balancing on the edge of stages uncomfortably with all adults standing in rows several deep at the back. We couldn’t see our children to ensure they were ok or see their faces to share their enjoyment and couldn’t see the shows ourselves. For the price, the groups should’ve been a lot smaller. Such a shame because I would’ve loved it if I could’ve shared the day with my son.

User

Loved it a few years ago, went back last year and they had over subscribed people to activities ratio and we just felt ripped off, loads of better Santa experiences out there wouldn’t go back as the customer service was also rubbish.

User

Well one word for it.... Amazing! We've done most of the Christmas days out in the north east but nothing blew us away like yesterday's day out at kielder winter wonderland! From start to finish was truly magical and busy!! Unlike most events this really is a full day out, we were there from 10am to 4pm dispite the worst weather we've had for weeks- typical!!

The staff are a real credit, they are all so child friendly and all the way through the kids are made centre of attention! Truly magical day out and will become our new Christmas tradition! Just have to wait a whole year before we go again!!

This was out first time and we absolutely loved it!

The staff were friendly and helpful and the characters were brilliant. They never slipped out of character and were always making sure the children were at the front.

The ticket price was very resonable compared to other similar attractions and the gifts the children and adults received were lovely.

Our events were well spaced out leaving us time to enjoy all the other attractions.

If you are looking for somewhere to go and make memories with your children then this has it all. If you are looking for a wonderland full of stalls and fairground rides then this is probably not for you.

The memories we nade will be memories for a very long time

We had an amazing day with lots of laughter singing and dancing and we still are

Hog roast in a bun with stuffing and apple sauce sat on a hay bale was a highlight that my son is still telling everyone about
