King Con Announcement
We regret to inform our followers that at this present moment there are no events planned for this year. While we have loved the majority of the convention process in particular getting to meet dedicated con-goers and families immersing themselves within our interactive activities which we strive to promote, we have taken the decision to concentrate on other areas of the business. We would like to thank you all for your support over the last 3 years and ...look forward to working with you on future projects hopefully within Durham City again, at this present time King Con is on hiatus for the foreseeable future.

User

What a brilliant event. Well run by a great team! Hope we get asked back next year. Photos will be on the Oak Photo page shortly!

User

The Geek Asylum had a fantastic time at our tombola table!! Raised lots for charity, thanks for the opportunity to do that!! Great atmosphere, great guests, great to be part of the experience!!! Favourite bit - the Red Dwarf bunks!! xx

User

My 1st convention was amazing can't wait for the next one loads of choice of stalls and everyone was friendly xx

User

Me and my family really enjoyed the weekend. Loads going on, very interactive - superb value for money!!!

King Con, Durham's first event of it's kind launched with great success. An enjoyable event with a good atmosphere and turn out all thanks to the friendly and hard working individuals from Dark Matter Comics, Durhams comicbook store cafe.

The event has a slightly different flavour to the usual convention format, not only do you feel more personally imersed in the surrounding cosplay, but the venue it's self is an imersive themed experience dressed with scenery and props.

Exhibitors at this event are primarily interested in what they do, and are more than happy to discuss their crafts. There is much less focus on the selling aspect, and in most cases the purchasing of items being left entirely to the onlooker.

Definately worth your time, and why not come along in cosplay!

Just spent a fantastic day here. So much to see and do. Richard the T Rex was marvellous. Roll on next year.

User

I was at the Durham Greenpeace stand and we loved it. Everyone friendly and all the cos play outfits were fab. We even got the awesome Jerome Flynn to come to visit us. . Thanks Dan Pye for letting us come. Hope we can do the same next year

User

I quite enjoyed the convention and I am glad I could have both carers without having to buy extra tickets. Autographs seemed expensive to me but I can probably understand why that may be the case. I was also disappointed that I needed tickets for the talks which I don't remember reading was the case. So I went home because that is a big reason I attended. Overall you did a great job getting some great guests so I won't and can't complaint about anything else. Great job to Dan and his dedicated team thanks very much.

User

Had a great time! Really friendly atmosphere and loads of great things to see and do. Well done!

User

Great experience friendly people overall amazing.

User

Brilliant day had a ton of fun and met some really cool people can't wait for the next one!

User

Absolutely fantastic experience! Plenty of stalls and entertainment for everybody, very well organised. Let's hope this is the first of a regular, annual event! Brilliant!

User

Absolutely brilliant would go next year as well, and really fantastic meeting Norman Lovett

My first experience of a comic con, loads to do just wish there was more food choices maybe get some burger vans or some different types of food I was really shocked at the crap me and my daughter got served in the bar scabby frozen chips and what looked like a rustlers microwave burger even my 3yr old daughter was disgusted and she eats anything. Hopefully next time if it's at the stadium maybe a proper food section maybe curry, sandwiches or other selections? Overall tho my daughter loved the characters and I got to meet the celebs I wanted to please say there will be more celebs next time aswell would really love to meet some of the long standing game of thrones stars or maybe vampire diaries or supernatural or something else would be fab x

User

For me the best part was the talk with Gerald Home, a very good guest signer and very nice with it. The event being so spread out was a bit of a let down and overall not quite as good as last years at Gala Theatre but still enjoyed it.

User

Wasnt a lot going on and less ther than was told about some things were not able to do an some thinks we not on and personally ther was a lack of stalls and the lay out of the place was a joke spent more time walking about trying to find things and was also told to leave on one floor by staff. I bought a weekend early bird pass and was not worth it at all.

User

Disappointing amount of traders, main reason I attended and was let down, the advert said there would be more than 150 trader stalls and there was around 50 if that. For what you pay for a ticket you expect more to be going on, schedule for activities continued to change at the last minute aswell.. Overall a bit of a let down
