After a bit of an issue with finding a deliverer, the new edition of the magazine should be dropping through letterboxes around the estate tomorrow or Friday! As usual, if anyone doesn't get a copy there'll be spares at the Community Centre, Tesco customer services and St John's church, as well as the pubs and hotels and GP/dentist surgeries. If anyone still can't get hold of one just let me know :)

Kingston Park Life website now has a regular page with a calendar of all classes and events on in Kingston Park. if you want to check what's on any day, give it a look up :) www.kingstonparklife.com (and if you want any classes or events included in the next edition that aren’t already mentioned just drop me a line :) )

For anyone interested in advertising their business in it or is considering submitting any articles for the next edition of Kingston Park Life, I’ll need anything in by the 10th/12th September, and the magazine is then due to be delivered around the estates on 25th or 26th September. If you’re interested just send me a message or email to kp.life@hotmail.com or see more at www.kingstonparklife.com :)

Could you help us collect some photos or pictures of children’s favourite play equipment? To help us get the most suitable equipment for different age groups in a new play area we could do with some photos and images to make a portfolio of the things that children enjoy the most. If you visit any play areas or parks over the holidays, would you be willing to photograph any pieces of equipment that seem the most popular or that your children like the best and send them in? Obviously being careful about photographing other children as the photographs will be shown in the portfolio to others, and possibly with a short explanation about why it works well? Could any photos or comments be emailed to kp.life@hotmail.com please? Thank you :)

Hi, just a shout to anyone taking their kids to tomorrows Wacky Wednesday at the Community Centre, it starts at 10 am, not 11 am as it says in the magazine (sorry!) and tomorrow’s going to be a fab day!

Kingston Park Life has finally got a website up and running! :)
If anyone with a tablet or smaller screened device would be kind enough to look it up and let me know if it adapts itself to fit the smaller screens that would be really helpful, and if you spot any errors or mistakes please let me know :)
But feel free to have a look, if you know anyone who might like to contribute or advertise their business do pass it on to them, and any suggestions about the website please pa...ss on too so I can make sure it works well, thank you! :)

Well, after a few technical issues and a few more mishaps on my part causing a bit of a delay, the 4th edition has finally arrived and looking good I think! Out for delivery round the estate tomorrow, hopefully you’ll all get a copy, but let me know any streets or houses that get missed and try and make sure you get one :) As usual, copies also going to Tesco customer services, St John’s church, the Community Centre, Boots, Michael Offord’s, the GP and Dentist surgery and the local pubs and hotels

Well, without a background in anything techy at all, starting the Kingston Park Life magazine has been something of a learning curve! So perhaps not surprisingly, occasionally my lack of knowledge and understanding leads to a few setbacks. This time it’s unfortunately going to mean a delay getting the latest edition to the printers and not getting them back until the 17th, rather than the 12th that I’d hoped, so the plan of it being delivered to you on the 13th, just before t...he World Cup final, will now not be able to happen. You’ll more likely see them around the 18th or 19th (I’ll keep you posted!) but obviously the piece in it about venues where you could watch the Cup Final will be just a bit out of date! Sorry for the delays but I hope you still like it and find it an interesting read! (also, should have some news of a shiny new website for it coming soon too! :) )

Another message from PC Dave Ikin about tonight's drop-ins and other things he's been doing:
Could you please remind people of tonight’s drop-in, from 6pm to 8pm at the community centre, to discuss any specific concerns they have and to come and meet me and Linda who will also be coming along.
Photo attached of the area at the rear of the Metro Line. We need Nexus to fence this off ideally.
... I’m in the process of getting more ticket checkers coming down to KP. I’ve got the name of the coordinator who is apparently very keen to deal with this issue. I was thinking 6pm till 830pm is the peak time??
All taking time but will get there! David Ikin 2724

PC Dave Ikin has asked if I could pass this on to everyone, following the play area meeting yesterday:
"It was a pleasure to meet everyone at the meeting last night. It’s obvious that the park is the root of a lot of the problems and I’ll keep pushing for things to change as its clearly not working in its present location. After speaking to people at the meeting it is going to be difficult to please everyone however Anita from the council stated that moving it next to the Co...mmunity centre would be a good idea and I totally agree with her. This is obviously something for the council to progress along with the possible fundraising from Residents of Kingston Park which was discussed at the meeting. If you could please keep me posted with any developments I’d appreciate it.
I have noted a number of residents concerns and taken on-board some of the suggestions which I’ve noted below.
Fencing at the rear of Kingston Park Metro (area facing the park) – I will have a look in that area and contact Nexus to see if consideration can be given to getting it blocked off.
Having Nexus Staff/Inspectors patrol on the Metro Platforms at KP between 6 and 8pm in order to deter youths “hopping the metro” – Again I will contact Nexus to see what can be done regarding this issue.
Stickers on Lamposts highlighting that the area is a no drinking area
Community Opportunity Patrols – This is something PCSO Jonathan Dunn mentioned to me after the meeting which I think is a good idea. It would give residents the opportunity to come out on patrol with Officers to see what we do and see first-hand some of the challenges we face. I now have the application form should anybody wish to apply for this.
The next 2 Police drop in meetings (The first is tomorrow between 6pm and 8pm at the community centre) are advertised on our Northumbria Police twitter feed in addition to lots of the operations and events which are taking place which may be of interest to you."
