It’s Christmas time, there’s no need to be afraid. Well, except Spanish has asked Santa for a gimp mask, several ball gags and some new shackles for his dungeon so that’s the heads up to all of you, just in case you were thinking of accepting his New Years Eve invitation to an intimate gathering.
Speaking of the festive period our hours will be mostly the same. We are buggering off home 30 minutes early on Christmas Eve at 10pm. On Christmas Day, Deadman, Alex and Coady will... be down as soon as they have got their lunch finished which will be by 7pm but may be a touch earlier. They will stay open until 10ish or until they can’t be arsed to stay open any more.
New Year’s Eve will end at 9pm so you can all get off to your next venue to see in Big Ben and Spanish can get home to see in the New Year in his traditional way clad in a red mankini with 12 green grapes in bowl hiding his modesty.
I shit you not, this is a thing. I would have posted a shot of Spanish in a mankini but the nausea would have held back sales

It’s almost that time of year again when we try to forget for a few days that the UK might be heading off a financial cliff edge, the most powerful man in the world has the mental dexterity of a house brick and, if we carry on as we are, the rising seas will mean we will all get to sail to work much more regularly.
To cheer your festive season Spanish (who we may be able to return to his homeland if we get a hard enough Brexit, so things perhaps aren’t all that bad) has come... come up with a plan to improve your Christmas. Gin Advent! Every day a different, new gin will be available for one day only (once it’s gone it’s gone) at the bargain price of £2.50 a shot. We will tell you on here, Twitter and (G)Instagram what’s what every morning so that you can better plan your day. We need your feedback on all of the gins as this will shape our refreshed selection in 2019.

Two posts in three days! What’s going on? Is this a much needed nod to semi-professionalism? Is there more news to share with people?
Well, there is news and this time it’s all to do with Monkseaton. We are two weeks away from our second birthday and as with everything, the only constant is change.
This time in 2016 the windows had just been delivered and we were trying to get the floor finished. This week we will start the process of conversion of our store room further up ...the platform into a kitchen. We are conditioned not to cook in the pub, and we don’t have the room anyhow. That’s no reason why you all shouldn’t get the best food in the region from the best pop ups. To help them serve that we are kitting out a kitchen for the evenings and weekends. Pop ups should be starting just before Christmas so keep your eyes peeled.
If weekend food isn’t enough for you we have a new resident keg tap launching today. For the foreseeable future Cloudwater will always be on the bar. Loads of keg and can happening from 6pm tonight. First on will be the DDH IPA Citra along with all of these cans in the fridge.

Without a doubt my favourite pub in the U.K. Popped in yesterday with my in laws who are frequenters and once again was blown away by the beer selection and how lovely and personable the staff are. Would reccomend to anyone visiting up north well worth it!

User

Very busy dog friendly pub, great selection of craft beers, ciders and lots of gins. Atmosphere is great, a proper pub with no pretensions to be anything else. Don't be put off if it's busy, people come and go so tables available pretty quickly. A real gem

User

This pub is a hidden little gem and it's in Monkseaton metro station. Perfect if you are a real ale drinker and the drinks are from local breweries.

User

The idea of opening a pub on the metro station was pure genius. The reality is even better. I love the atmosphere and the ale is always good too

User

Superb choice of predominantly local Real ales but this isn't a local pub for local people they welcome everyone

User

Only found this place by chance whilst on our Easter break so glad we did, what a fantastic little pub, the beer was fantastic and staff very friendly. We were there on the Sunday night and it was Buskers night so got to see some really good music as well. We will definitely be back when in the area.

I'm actually in LLR as I text/write. It may have outstanding beer, it may have 2 handsome eccentric owners? but what makes this bar/pub/room work? is the bar staff. I love coming here post work, and the silly ridiculous bar banter is unique and priceless.

User

I love this place. Relaxed, quirky and very reasonable. No television, no piped music and no gaming machines. Just nice friendly people, where people actually have a conversation.

User

Hell yeah

User

Great venue, hope it never changes

Johnny and the gang have nailed it

User

Excellent choice of hand pulled & keg craft beers at excessive city centre prices. Good atmosphere & well worth an outing with fellow beer lovers.

User

Sorry not feeling it. Warm stout in an unfinished warehouse with lots of people in jumpers having serious conversations. Could only get seat on stool beside sack barrow. Pretentious methinks so not for me
