User

My first visit to lickety split, as soon as I arrived my 5 week old daughter needed feeding, I'm a first time young mam and still not very confident feeding baby out in public yet, I was made to feel really welcome and comfortable and the lady behind the counter brought me a banana and a glass of water straight over to my table free of charge, lovely gesture and very much appreciated!

User

Lovely visit to Lickety Split with my family today. Great ice creams/waffles and I was even given a bottle of water and a banana as I was breastfeeding my little girl Thanks! Great to see the staff doing their bit to normalise bf! X

User

Loved this place when I visited today. What an absolutely delicious range of ice cream, sundaes and milkshakes. Really good friendly service too. Definitely deserves its reputation in the north east - I’d highly recommend it and would go back.

User

Love it! Gorgeous home made ice cream in original flavours. The staff are VERY charming and helpful.

First time, we thought it was really nice, lovely friendly staff, our sin had a chocolate sundae which was HUGE and my husband and i had a latte which you got a small cone with icecream on the side which was a nice touch. Plenty of tables, nice clean toilets and the decor was lovely too. We did probably arrive at a peak time in the kids school holidays but we waited along time to get served, after 15 minutes of standing waiting to be served i asked a passing waitress if you are sitting in do you take a seat or wait at the counter and she said you could do either if you had a child. I was standing at the counter and my husband had already sat down with our son and he had no one come over to serve him? It took 20 minutes to be served for a sundae and 2 lattes, the girls were lovely and weren't getting stressed but looking at previous comments on this page i have to agree that you need to make it clear how to order. The 3 girls behind the counter were taking orders from some tables and taking icecreams etc. To tables but no one was being served at the counter? Alot of people came in and turned around and went back out. You need at least one person serving at the counter and someone coming to greet people at the door to ask takeaway or sit in and direct to seats which would free up the counter for takeaways only, or a sign on how you order? Overall we did enjoy it when we finally got served.

User

Fab place amazing food and friendly staff...went to the hulk breakfast this morning my little boy loved it! Deffo be back again.

User

Breakfast with hulk, well organised kids had breakfast before hulk arrived, adults while hulk played games with kids. Hulk ice cream before they left. Good breakfast.

User

Absolutely amazing! Not only do you serve amazing ice creams and coffees, you recognised additional needs to a breastfeeding Mammy and brought me a banana and iced water as a gesture. Amazing service. I will be back. Thank you

User

A great ice cream shop with a huge choice of flavours. I've been visiting for years now and i'm always happy with everything i've eaten. I've had about half of their main menu sundaes, a banana split and even their waffles, all delicious, and the sorbet they make is the best i've ever tasted!

User

Went here for the first time yesterday. We had a lovely time in fabulous 50s style decor. The wait was the only draw back as lovely as it was watching them prepare food ordered by others. We will deffinetly head back but this time for a "Sundae" ! Hopefully there will be more staff working to cope !

User

Ice cream is fabulous but the prices are now horrendous. The sundaes have increased I price by over £2. I bought 4 cones today and it cost 14.60, which is ridiculous. Prices need to come down or you will lose custom.

User

Lovely Ice Cream and great concept, but please sort out your serving strategy, we waited nearly quarter of an hour at the counter to get served, and the gentlemen in front had been waiting longer. With the school holiday approaching and the nicer weather continuing, might be worthwhile considering allocating tables to the staff; they take and make the orders and have one or two people behind the counter that just deal with the takeaways.

User

Considering we walked straight in and got a booth (not at all busy), our table and menus were filthy from the last customers and no one came to clean them. We had to remind the waitress we’d ordered drinks as they didn’t arrive. Pretty shabby. Pretty disappointing and not at all what I was expecting

User

So disappointed. To start the menus were filthy on one of them could barely read the menu due to what looked like chocolate all over it. Placed my order got asked if i wanted onions on the hotdog to which i replied YES, the young girl actually asked me the prices for each item I had ordered which i informed her of. Paid for 2 cans of pop only got 1. Asked for the second when the young girl tried to deny me paying for it which I know I defo did (im not going to forget the fact I paid £3 for 2 cans of pepsi). Hotdog came no onions so sent it back then literally got given a teaspoon of onion on my hotdog what a JOKE (I have a picture as proof). The bun was hard/stale the sausage was overcooked and coleslaw well words escape me on that. The only reason I did not complain was for the fact they could not organise anything on this visit.

User

Diabolical service, food didn’t arrive together was a five minute wait between each dish, and then the waitresses didn’t know who’s dishes was what in the end the the wrong person got the wrong food, food was just about nice bread buns where dry and stale, more organisation is needed, when offered a condiment, there was another 5 minute wait and then when on asking them where it was there was actually none left but they didn’t think to come and tell us so was sat waiting, staff need training in all aspects of the business
