I would tell everyone to get married here. On a summers night like mine- it was magical.

Thankyou all so much

Il be back through week to pick up centrepieces etc.

I cant believe its over.

Forever grateful.

What an absolutely fabulous hotel, we had our wedding yesterday and it was amazing. All the staff were tremendous with especial thanks to Michael and Siobhan who made the day perfect. Our room was superb and breakfast was spot on!!

User

We wanted to stay here for a while and finally got the opportunity over the Easter weekend. We upgraded to a junior suite with a river and piers view. It was stunning and well worth it. Staff were very friendly and professional. The restaurant served great food and the breakfast was also top notch. We will stay here every time we come north from now on.

User

We stayed here after we got married in 2017.

The service was exceptional, the room clean and breakfast choice was fantastic.

We returned 7th July 2018 and while our room and breakfast were once again great, we found the service lacking in comparison to the previous year and left disappointed.

I emailed a complaint and received a reply from Graham the general manager.

The response was respectful, honest and apologetic. While I had my doubts, the email correspondence with Graham made me feel valued and that our bad experience was a one off.

We were invited to return to the hotel and did so last night with our daughters (6 & 1.5) in tow, as an end of school year celebration for my eldest daughter.

The service was impeccable. Once again the hotel was fully booked, which I felt may have been a reason for our poor previous experience, however everything felt very calm and staff very pleasant and friendly. I observed this towards other guests and not just ourselves.

I feel any points I made were taken on board and changes made.

In hindsight I wish I had spoken to staff directly on our previous experience. In truth, I didn’t expect management to be approachable, to be listened to or taken seriously, I expected excuses. Never once, during any correspondence, were any excuses given.

The room once again was fantastic - great views and very clean. We had an added bed for my 6 year old. She loved it and found it very comfortable.

I am very grateful for the invitation to return and I am very glad we did.

Not only will we be returning for our yearly wedding anniversary, but we will now also be returning to kick off the end of the school year in style.

Thank you so much. You have not only restored our faith in the hotel but you have made 2 little girls very happy.

Neither them, nor us, wanted to leave.

We had our wedding reception at the Little Haven last week and can't thank the staff enough for all of their hard work, especially Siobhan. The room looked perfect and we all had the best time.

Thank you for everything, Mr & Mrs Dennett xx

User

We are here for 3 nights stay and will be leaving on Saturday. The hotel is fab the staff are very pleasant and obliging. Finding the food worth the money no complaints. Added bonus was Wednesday evening which was karaoke excellent singers a lot of tallent among them. Heard songs you don't normally hear on karaoke. Aparrently they meet every Wednesday here and I would certainly pay good money to listen to them. The hotel is kindly moving us to an upstairs room tomorrow to accommodate the 3 nights. Also the hotel is pet friendly and morning papers are provided we will be coming back.

User

Took the dog and staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Very clean comfortable room with plenty of space

User

This is the second time in two years we've stayed here to celebrate an occasion. We kindly got upgraded last year and we loved the room that much, we've booked the same room again. Everything about the hotel is top notch. Service is second to none and all the staff friendly and welcoming. Even in this Beast of the East blizzard I can't think of anywhere cozier to listen to the howling wind outside. The location is superb for so many different reasons.

Thanks again

Stayed overnight after working in South Shields for 2 days.

Lovely comfortable room with great food & choices.

The staff were very friendly.

Loved the views but would of liked to spend more time to browse around.

Thanks to everyone for making my stay nice and relaxing.

User

Stayed 3 nights.. lovely hotel, lovely staff, stunning location by the sea, beautiful walks along the sea front, the best sands, views of the ships coming in, food delicious & rooms beautiful.

User

Spent the night for my sister birthday staff where great food lovely and very reasonably priced for a hotel so that’s top marks in my eyes room was very clean and just loved watching ferry’s coming in from your room was great not 1 fault at all can not believe why some people put some negative comments u just have to try it yourself well done to you all will be back soon

User

I had a night away here with my 9 year old daughter as a treat for her. The room was absolutely immaculate and my daughter stated it was better than she could have imagined it to be. Breakfast was lovely and a wide choice of food. The staff were friendly and very polite and professional, would definitely recommend to others.

User

Excellent service, friendly staff, and lovely surroundings. My family visit the hotel on a regular basis and while we have never had a complaint we appreciate that sometimes problems occur. However, management are very approachable and more than happy to resolve any issues raised.

User

A lovely hotel overlooking the sea. Very comfortable room, superb breakfast and extremely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend a stay at The Little Haven Hotel.

User

Good view of sea from my room which was clean and spacious, but it was the staff that made my stay so pleasant, they were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, food was good also, would stay here again.

User

Stayed in the Little Haven ten years ago for my dads 60th and thought it was great. Booked a night for myself and husband last night and really quite disappointed. I messaged asking for a sea-view (which I paid for) but to be away from the restaurant. Reply said they would do what they could to fulfil this request. Sadly this didn’t happen. View was fantastic and couldn’t fault it however the noise was horrendous. Arrived at 4pm and could hear nothing but loud talking and children running around shouting and screaming and parents not supervising them outside of the restaurant area for 3 hours until we left for a meal elsewhere. I understand the hotel isn’t directly responsible for this however I did ask not to be in this area or this reason. Room was very clean but dated as is the whole hotel. Definitely time for a referb. Breakfast was lovely so not all bad. Had I been spoken to by reception staff on check out I would have spoken to the directly regarding my stay, however, I was simply asked for my payment, told to wait for a receipt and that was it, no rapport or friendliness.

User

Had a nice pot of coffee with my cousin , nice staff . Please sort the taps out in the toilet so people can actually wash their hands !!! The water stops as soon as you let go of the tap i had to hold it down and wash one hand at a time , i know water costs money but do you have to be that stingy

User

Booked a table for 6pm yesterday, ten adults and a child, family came from Essex and asked to have a meal there. The menus arrived, mainly fish on the main course, a lot of of our party wernt keen and we found out by a regular there was a different (cheaper) menu on the before 7pm menu. Ordered our meals and that took an age, drinks orders were ignored and eventually most of the meals arrived apart from two meals, when asked where they were, blank looks on the faces of the waitresses, extra chip orders never came. The man who had taken our order who we found out was the restaurant manager went into hiding when we asked to see him, eventually with apologies the other two meals arrived when the main party had finished theirs, it was quicker to go to the other bar to get drinks and that was painfully slow too.

We eventually had a word with the manager who offered a round of drinks as an apology and a cock and bull story blaming the warm weather and walk-ins and lack of staff!! We had booked beforehand remember.

We were given a substantial discount on the bill but that left a sour taste and we informed the manager we won't be returning. Pity because the food when it eventually arrived was nice.

Sort your staff out and it will be a lovely place to dine. We've since found out that it has a bad reputation for service which we can confirm.

User

Been to the Little Haven on many occasion always been lovely however todays visit wasn't too grand. Lukewarm coffee and dried up scone, well past its sell by date, served with rock hard butter (impossible to spread) Staff were ok, not much interaction. Didn't complain as left in a hurry because my Dad wasnt feeling too good.

Won't be rushing back .
