We would just like to say "thank you" to everyone who came to our Table Top Sale 2 weeks ago, in what was appalling weather! In spite of that we managed to make £192.59 for much needed church funds, as well as some extra rent for the Hall funds.. Thank you also to all our lovely, friendly stallholders - for their patience and good humour on such a rainy day, and to all who helped in the kitchen and behind the scenes. Please also support Marsden Marketplace's sale next Saturday, for the Cuckoo's Nest and Holme Valley Mountain Rescue.

Pentecost (Whit Sunday): We welcomed friends from the United Church to our service of Sung Eucharist and to the Revd Dr Steve Dixon for conducting the service. Pat gave the reading from Acts 2 v 1 -21 - there was a mighty wind and tongues of fire and the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit. The sermon and the children's activities were based on this reading. The Gospel was from John 14 v 8-17,25-27. and Sue offered prayers. Jon was the organist and sideswomen were Sue and Jean. Coffee was served by Val and Doreen. This month's charity appeal is for the Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team.

Come on in and see what our lovely people have to sell - hand-crafted jewellery, cards and even animals; scented candles, plants, honey, Avon, artwork. And as well as all that - they've been de-cluttering - so lots of toys, clothing and general household bric-a-brac. Sausage/bacon sandwiches for lunch. And you can go home feeling virtuous because you've also supported your local parish church - thank you in advance!

Just a day to go! Two more of our sellers have lovely hand-made goods on sale - Rachel Hurley's beautiful "My Little Tea Cup" scented candles will be there, along with Pamela Harris's lovely hand-knitted animals. Tony White will have his local honey, and Fran White and Julie Walker will have plants - so if your garden needs a summer boost - you know where to come!

We have two jewellers on Saturday - Diane Eastwood - who also has hand-made cards - and Caitlin Warrior. Caitlin has showed her gems on FBook before - here is how she describes her work "Out of the ordinary handmade jewels & treasures. Dark, grownup & unconventional, Dark Cherry's work means you won't spot someone else in the same thing". And we look forward to seeing Diane's jewellery for the first time.
