I get people all over the world staying at the guest house but it is lovely when people from the area come back for a visit and stay here. Today I cooked breakfast for Hilton Valentine, guitarist for The Animals in the 60’s. The talk around the breakfast table was fascinating.

After breaking my right arm at the end of November I have been unable to do a lot of things over the last 12weeks. However little by little I have achieved small goals on my road to recovery. These have included being able to tie my own apron, cut bread and make the smoothies. Today is the first time I have been able to make hollandaise sauce! I can now do everything on the breakfast menu again. Thank you all for your understanding and support.

Just received this from the talented Streetdoodler. I am really pleased with the final picture which will be hanging in the guest house this weekend.

Well my sling and I are parting company after six long weeks of a close relationship! Well for most of the time but the consultant recognised that they would be times when I need to wear it for a bit longer eg cooking breakfasts. It’s almost healed but it’s now down to physio. Still got a way to go but I’m getting there. Thanks for all the support from family and friends xx

So pleased for Adam and his team. If ever you stay at the guest house then a trip to Riley's Fish Shack is a must if you like fish and seafood and if the queues aren’t to long. The food is excellent.

Well it’s that time of year again when the smell of mince pies wafts through the house. However last week I broke my right arm so I had to ask a lovely friend of mine to help me make these this morning. It also means that I will not be able to prepare all the items on the breakfast menu. Hollandaise sauce is difficult to make one handed! I should be back to full strength after Christmas.

This would be exciting if we are included.

When you visit Tynemouth you should check Riley’s Fish Shack out. It is a great place to eat

As many of you know I have been part of this event since the beginning. I have loved being an organiser of the Tynemouth Food Festival and I am so sad we are saying goodbye but it is the right decision for all of us xx

My first ever demonstration at Tynemouth Food Festival this weekend seemed to go down very well. I was even asked for the recipes.

So I have finally been persuaded to do a demo at the Tynemouth Food Festival that I organise!

A busy morning for me baking, then spent a relaxing afternoon enjoying the sunshine in the garden. It's so lovely to at last feel the sun on your face!

A full English breakfast on Master Chef tonight, so looking forward to what the contestants do!

It's so good to see local businesses getting the recognition they deserve. As most of you will know we have Tynemouth Espresso at the guest house. Recently a couple from Brazil said it was the best coffee they had had in England.

A great day yesterday with Mary and Martin who really enjoyed their Taste of the Sea cookery lesson and meal. Look how hard Martin is concentrating to get the white meat out! I love doing these sessions and thank you Mary and Martin for being such fun.
