1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth. This iconic Ford has just been collected by our team here and is to be offered for sale at our September Classic Car Auction to be held on Saturday the 15th. Sold as a Restoration project which has been dry stored for the last 15 years. Our September Auction will also hold a number of further interesting vehicles including a 1972 Ford Escort RS1600, a Jaguar MKIV and a Bond Bug !! Many thanks to all of you who supported the sale last Saturday - many of you travel far and wide to visit us here in beautiful North Yorkshire and we really do appreciate it.
Here's Gaby and Sandrine from France - they flew over to collect 'Bertie' this morning - we wish them a safe trip home!

It's been all hands on deck today - Nick from Dodds Transport is becoming one of the team here at Mathewsons - and he's still smiling!! They have been busy collecting the rest of the tractors for our sale on August 11th - as you can imagine - space is definitely becoming a premium !

The lads have had a busy day collecting some of the tractors and machinery consigned for our August sale. We couldn't have done it without our good friend at Dodds Transport who helped us move this fantastic Ransomes Thresher - what a beautiful beast!

Who knew that driving across the North York Moors in a classic car while being filmed from a helicopter would be all in a days work!!? The opening sequence to the show was filmed early this morning - we were blessed with both the fantastic weather and the amazing crew from Air TV. Once back on site Steve and Phil did their best to direct us with some 'Hero Shots' - look out Hollywood !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Continuing with our tractor theme .......................... how about this! To be offered at our August 11th sale is this large scale Field Marshall Tractor - powered by a 4HP diesel engine fitted with a 3 speed gearbox and complete with working lights and electric starter.

The crew from Air TV have become part of the furniture here at Mathewsons.
They are following the whole process from the initial contact, to the collection, the marketing, the auction sale and the new home of a number of our entries through the classic car auction operation here in Thornton Le-Dale.
All exciting stuff eh !

We had a visit from the The Veteran Car Club of Great Britain this morning and of course we couldn't resist having a look at their amazing vehicles. What a slice of history -from the oldest Vauxhall to a 1901 Progress - not exactly a comfy ride, but a delight to see!

A great big shout out goes to Margaret who very kindly donated her MX5 into our auction last month with all proceeds to YAA - how very generous indeed!
We are proud to support two worth while charities - YAA and Marie Cure - and would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to all of you that have helped us raise £££££'s over the years. Give yourselves a pat on the back!

This super MG F was driven to our premises by a lovely elderly gentleman from Scarborough - he handed us the keys, announced that his driving days were over and returned home via the 128 bus!
He generously requested that all proceeds from the MG go to charity - so we decided here at Mathewsons that while we raise funds for two worthy causes, we will give you lovely folk out there the chance to win this sporty little number for just £5 !!...
Raffle tickets are available from our office in Thornton le Dale - priced at £5 each (also to be available online via our website soon) - all proceeds will be split between YAA and Marie Curie.
The winning ticket will be chosen during our 50th Auction on 15th September 2018.
So....... if you're feeling lucky..........!

always call in to have look when down visiting my dad in Scarborough was there last weekend

Well I'm hardly going to mark it down as 1 star am I......LOL...

We visit the museum every time we are at Whitby or Scarborough. Amazing value for this day and age. Really friendly, knowledgeable people. 5 stars is not enough. :-)

Really enjoy a visit to Mathewsons. So many great cars and automotive stuff to look at..

Oh to have a shed like these! Brilliant place and very cheap entry to stay as long as you like

Love this place, place, know anything about it until we passed it heading to Scarborough. Will visit again

Have visited Mathewsons many times over the past few years, and always take a look around the museum. Great value for money with plenty to see! The staff are fantastic, very knowledgeable and friendly. Always a nice selection of cars on site. I'll be dropping by again when I'm on holiday in October! :)

Brilliant place to be...fantastic family run business

My first visit - probably wouldn't go again - the 'museum' had a few interesting bits- the cars were nearly all auction entries - not really a museum.
