Hello everyone. It’s with regret that we must inform you that we can no longer open today. We are working tirelessly to get the range up and running again but it’s proving a little more difficult than we originally thought. Just a little message to let you know that we are CLOSED tomorrow TUESDAY 6TH FEBRUARY for essential range maintenance. It will be business as usual from Wednesday 7th February as we re-open for the best fish in town 🐟🍟🤡

We would just like to inform all of our lovely customers that we are closed today and will remain closed until further notice. We have had some issues with our range and ducting extraction this morning and the fire service is on standby to be on the safe side. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but this was totally unexpected and we are working hard to get everything running safely again. Our staff and customer safety is our priority, therefore we have chosen to close. Hopefully we will see you all very soon for some delicious food 🐟🍟

Pan fried fillets of Mackerel with celeriac, kipper and caper slaw.

Good Morning snow birds, just to let you know that we are open for business as usual.
However, we are having to close at 3 o'clock, due to the Church Street road closure and flood possibility.

We had a great time with fast service and positive staff accompanied with well made and presented food for all. Thank you for this experience and for improving our Whitby visit.

We always eat at Mister Chips when we visit Whitby and have never had a bad experience. Not only is the food delicious, the staff are incredibly polite and friendly even at the busiest times when there are queues outside. Tables are kept clean and cleared and the toilet facilities are clean and fresh. I've recently gone gluten free and there was plenty of choice for me yesterday. I had grilled cod with lemon and dill butter and chips. It was fabulous. Thanks and well done to everyone who works there.

This place is phenomenal. The best in Whitby. Had an amazing goats cheese starter and a trio of seafood for my main of scallops, prawns and cod and it was truly amazing. This place is a hidden gem.

This is proper fish and chips as I remember from my childhood the fish was so fresh I think it must have been landed that morning. Fantastic crispy batter and they even gave me scraps.

However my wife had a main of scallops in a cream sauce with bacon and samphire. Absolutely delicious and the whole meal was very cheap for the quality we recieved.

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Would we go again. If it was close to home I would be there every week. But it's a good reason to go back to Whitby.

I can’t be bothered with all the Trenchers/Magpie hype... or the queue. Anyway this place is lovely and the fish and chips were exceptionally good.

Had a lovely meal this evening in Mister Chips Whitby, a big thank you to our server Jessica for her attentiveness � Who would have thought two vegetarians would enjoy a fish restaurant so much! The pasta, chips and salad were all great, but not a patch on your delicious and warm homemade crumble..... � Highly recommended!!

Can’t think of a better fish and chip meal I’ve ever had. I’ve been to quite a few in Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington and this was the nicest I’ve had. We went to Mr Chips on Friday evening, The batter was a light golden colour and so beautiful, the fish (cod) was white and fluffy and tasted gorgeous. The chips were spot on and very hot. Topped by great service and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend Mr Chips.

A very popular place and advisable to book when Whitby is busy.

The Fish Platter was the the best in Whitby. Service was friendly and efficient.

We have been before and is now my No. 1 place in Whitby for F&C....

Visited yesterday, staff very friendly and fish and chips very good.

Didn’t buy but noticed they charge 25p for a sachet of ketchup!

Come on you’re charging enough for the fish and chips so a free sachet of sauce won’t break the bank!

We visited yesterday and had lovely service restaurant very clean and tidy ! Staff are very friendly and helpful ! My Husband had the Panga which he said was very nice ! I had Haddock as I’m a Cleethorpes lass it was ok !

Visited yesterday, my advice avoid a staff member called Jessica. We witnessed her belittle a staff member. We also saw her disgraceful attitude to some customers because they cash. She wasn't sure how to add cash to the new till. It's not the customers and they were teenage lads from France. We were in around 30 mins and witnessed contstant digs at a fellow work mate followed by nasty remarks about her to another work mate. It ruined our lunch and day as we were disgusted with what we had seen!!!!!!

Nothing bad to say about the place but nothing good either. No better or worse than other fish and chips that I've had in Whitby.

Wine was nice. Because that’s all we had. Hour and half after being seated. 6 tables served and eaten and we had our starters. Walked out. Disgraceful.
