Our page is for parents, carers and extended family of the children attending Morecambe Road. We are all extremely proud of our school where our students continue to achieve and flourish both educationally and socially in a supportive and friendly environment.

The Information, Advice and Support Team at Lancashire County Council will be running a six week course "Making Sense of Special Needs" for parents and carers in this area after February half term.
Subjects covered will include: The 2015 Special Needs Code of Practice Support for children at school –who does what... Education Health and Care Plans Behavioural issues

The next PTA/Friends of Morecambe Road School meeting will be Tuesday 28th April in the HUB at 2.30pm - all parents and friends welcome. You can check the dates of future meetings on our website below.
On Monday 20th January, Miss Cassidy, Mrs Weldon and Gurpreet travelled to the Netherwood Hotel & Spa in Grange-over-Sands for a celebration meal in aid of the success of the 2019 Boxes of Hope, Cumbria campaign. We enjoyed a 3 course meal whilst meeting lots of different people from around both Lancashire and Cumbria who all volunteer to help with the campaign. We got to hear about this year's trip and what plans Boxes of Hope have for the future. It was a great afternoon to top of a successful year, we cant wait for the Morecambe Road school campaign to start again later on in 2020.
As a part of S1 life skills topic, they have been volunteering in the community. This week they went to John Kay court and ran their own coffee morning for the residents. They made all the staff very proud and represented the school beautifully. Well done S1!
We have a PTA meeting scheduled for Tuesday 4th February 2020 at 2.30pm in the Garden Rooms - all are welcome!
A massive thank you to everybody for your amazing support for our Elf Run which we held in December. We are delighted to announce we have raised a staggering £503.50 to support this wonderful charity. We look forward to taking part again in the future. Once again, thank you for your continued support and Happy New Year.

Following on from Catherine's successful trip we have had another message of thanks from Gary Stoll, a missionary in Romania -
Just to let you know that this weekend we have delivered all of the shoe boxes were received from Boxes of Hope Cumbria to children in 4 locations... Bodesti (poor local village where we have a weekly children's club) Bargauani (as above)... Piatra Neamt (the city where we are based) Poieni (a very poor local village)
I spotted a number of shoe boxes from Morecambe Road School as we were giving them out in the above locations. I have attached some pictures that you can use if you like.
Thank you again for supplying so many shoe boxes. What you have done as a school has brought joy to many children in Romania this Christmas, many of whom will not receive any other gift.

Class 2 have just completed their 'Delightful Decorations' Design and Technology project. Check out the beautiful decorations we have designed and hand stitched!
Last week Class 2 visited Barton Grange Garden Centre and the Riverside Cafe. We made choices and used our communication skills to pay for our lunch selection. Well Done Everyone!
Day 5: For the final day of the trip we visited Tinca where we got to see lots of children in the classroom then to the church for a special Christmas performance and for the final distribution we visited the village of Bihor where 150 excited children were waiting for us, brilliant way to finish an amazing week and some more MRS boxes were spotted.
Day 4: This morning we took a quick visit to Cluj to visit the tip where some of the Roma community live then on to Sălaj and Zalau to hand out around 800 boxes, lovely to meet some people who are working so hard to make changes for the Roma communities. Some more Morecambe road boxes were spotted including a few of Mrs Weldons boxes.
