Our friends at Tumbles and Grumbles are running a free session next week designed to teach valuable, life saving skills to children. Perfect for our Nemo Pre-school swimmers.
We’ll be doing a lot more with Tumbles and Grumbles over the next few months. In the meantime, here’s some more information about their fab half-term event

Calling all little Nemos! We will be at this event in September, and we can’t wait - it looks FIN-tastic! The organisers are running a competition which will see one lucky 0-5 year old become the ‘face of the event’. Full details below for anyone who is interested 😊

Parents often ask us; "when should my baby be able to hold on their own?", "how old will my toddler be when they start swimming independently?", "when can I expect my child to get their first distance or Stage badge?"...
The answer is hard to predict, as every child learns and develops differently. Just like the milestones that they master outside of the pool, our little Nemos progress at different rates in the pool too.
They will shine when it's their turn to shine🥰

Last night, we hung up our SwimFins and got all glammed up for the Tyne & Wear Business Awards. We were there as we had been shortlisted for the Best Child Orientated Business, along with our friends at Kalma Baby South Tyneside, Tots Tea Rooms, and Little Play Café. It was an amazing night, and so lovely to meet so many FIN-tastic business from across the region.
We are absolutely delighted to walk away as winners of the Best Child Orientated Business. Yes, we posted about i...t last night too, but we just wanted to say, again, a big THANK YOU to you all!
To our customers – we can’t thank you enough for your continued support, and for all your nominations for this award. As we enter our tenth year of business, we are lucky enough to say that we have taught thousands of young children across the North East how to enjoy the water safely, and we have loved every single minute. We have a FIN-credible customer base that is continuing to grow; with the addition of our first franchisees last year, we are also now welcoming little Nemos across the UK – big WAVE to you all!
To our instructors – where do we start?! You guys are absolutely amazing, and we simply wouldn’t be where we are today without you. Our little Nemos (and their grown ups) are always singing your praises, and you played a HUGE role in helping us secure so many nominations for this award. We’re sure that everyone will join us when we say – WELL DONE, YOU FIN-TASTIC LOT!
Of course, that thanks needs to be extended to the rest of the Nemo Swimming team, also. They work really hard ‘behind the scenes’ making sure that everything runs smoothly, and they do a great job!
Finally, a huge CONGRATULATIONS to all the fantastic businesses who were at the awards last night. We are so proud to be a Tyne & Wear-born business, and we were blown away with the amount of talent, enthusiasm, and drive from organisations across the region. Snow! Love it or hate it? And, more importantly, who has been out building a snowman?! Show us your pics below!
Our lessons are running as normal today, but we will let you know if there are any changes 🤗

Breath control in the water is one of the most important steps in teaching our little Nemos to be safe in the water, and to be able to swim independently. One of the ways we encourage this is by teaching our swimmers to blow bubbles in the water. This doggie here has well and truly mastered the skill; looks like he is having a FIN-tastic time! 😂

We absolutely love what we do here at Nemo Swimming - seeing our little Nemos take their first paddles in the pool, helping them to enjoy the water safely, and then watching as they gain the confidence and skills to swim independently... yep, we really do have the best job in the world!
It makes us so happy when our customers get in touch to tell us how much they, and their little Nemos, love our classes. So, when we saw this lovely review from Jo, we couldn’t help but smile ...😊
