Well we had a fabulous Ladies Day in the Park View suite - our table of ladies ate a lot, drank a lot and laughed a great deal all day long. The weather was brilliant and I know we will be back again next year, hopefully share a table with the lovely people we met yesterday. Worth every penny. Just a shame that our evening was cut short because of a fire alarm going off. Emptied the room sharpish but luckily it was near the end. Excellent and well done to everyone involved :-)

User

We had a fab day yesterday at ladies day.just a couple of things.i think it's shocking that soft drinks are confiscated even when they are sealed nd then have to pay a small fortune inside. Also no programme in picnic area so had to go elsewhere to get one.and finally the walk from picnic area entrance to getting in for us ladies in heels.

User

Mint racecourse. Mint staff n'all, especially that blonde lass, I forget her name.

The bloke that sorts out the social networking of the business is proper sound as well, he gave me a great tip on on 25-1 dead cert horse called 'Lego head'. Awful craic though.

User

Ladies day was fab glad I pre booked my taxi as questions were ridiculous longest I've seen ever the band after racing were fab prices for drinks bit on steep side that's why we have a drink on lawn outside before races were was usual dj keep up good work but think about drinks and food pricing people will get sick of being ripped off and vote with their feet

User

Just had our wedding there. It was an incredible day but massively helped by the hospitality and helpfulness of the staff. Would highly recommend to anyone getting married to consider this venue

User

It’s a great day out and the atmosphere is tremendous

User

Amazing food and free bar... so wished I’d booked tomorrow off... testing times ahead !!!

User

4th time at ladies day and great day once again

Toilet situation still crazy need more ladies loos

Never really had to wait for a drink

One thing the band at the end was good but we only hear the music not really them singing

and taxis will always be mental lucky we waited and got one a bit later on

User

I'm not into hoarse racing. I went haffers with my pal on the racing. I enjoyed the canteen and the surroundings. I would have given 5 out 5 for the ambedence experience however It took only 1 employee of betfred to just about cause mayhem. Lack of customer service skills and shrugged his shoulders at valid points to somthing that could have been explained a bit better.

User

We went yestetday we paid £30 for the picnic area only to have al our bags n chairs searched the woman even openend up our sandwitches which wer in tinfoil n touched them no gloves on so ter al went in the bin never agsin

User

Very much disappointed yesterday attending The Northumberland Plate meeting. I was quite frustrated at the fact that the debit card facility was hopeless and after around for the first hour or so after the first race it was unavailable for the rest of the day! Then we tried the cash points which we were told by the bar staff available - or unavailable as they were all out of order! Then the fosters ran dry - along with the bottled cider! This was all long before the last race! Which at this point we gave up and retreated to the Border Minstrel. Yes I understand this is a huge meeting with big crowds but come on - better organisation I think is needed. Unsure if anyone else felt frustrated but at £70 for two tickets (cheapest at that) don't think it's good!

User

I've been to ladies day for the last 12 years and always have a fabulous time. However yesterday was the 2nd year that the day has been spoilt by the ridiculous bar queue's and very poor staff. At any event of this kind there are never going to be enough bars to prevent queues but waiting over an hour to be served is disgraceful. Hopefully it gets sorted for next year and it's the only down side to what has generally been a brilliant day.

User

Was totally shocking on ladies day as when we went to plate day soft drinks were allowed in the picnic area so when we phoned for our tickets we asked if soft drinks were allowed to which we were told they were. When we got to the entrance they took them off us. We said we had rang and the man told us they had just been told that morning to take them off. We said we would come back for them which we did and we're rudely told they had thrown them away. Why have designated area for picnic when you can't take soft drinks in?

There was not enough tables or chairs in picnic area and when I asked if we could get one from the other end which there was hundreds we were told no. I asked where would I put my drink and was told just to hold it!! £2.50 for a bottle of coke Is ridiculous a total rip off.

Very disappointed as they change the rules as they go. Won't be back and have gone for the last 8years.

User

we have always loved ladies day every year and thought we would "upgrade" to the picnic package for £96, NEVER AGAIN! we were in a pen that to access u had 2 enter via the grandstand and paddock and climb over everyone else and disrupt them,to be sat miles away from any toilets, bar,or betting stands!!! ridiculous!!! there were some ladies from York next to us who were so disappointed too.really ruined our day :(

User

Well after months of looking forward to my 1st day out in 9months (my new baby is now 9weeks old) I can honestly say what a let down the "premier picnic hospitality package" was for £96 we were placed on the far side of the parade ring with no easy access to any premier facilities and in fact had to walk right through the grandstand area to bet, toilet and get drinks (other than wine and beer available in the shed on the picnic lawn), which involved stepping over 100's of people picnics.

When we brought our concerns to the attention of the customer service / hospitality team all I can say is she did not give a damn! Our group were not alone in complaining and statements to the effect of "where do you want me to put a toilet"

and

"if you can find space for 17chairs on the premier lawn go ahead"

Are 100% unhelpful and quite frankly rude.

I just hope that future race goers read this post and do not purchase this particular package!

5* hospitality I think not!

User

Been coming to Ladies Day for almost 10 yrs , and each year the quality of it goes downhill that bit more , too many people in , not enough clean amenities and long queues for everything , not the most cleanest or up to date racecourse at all, and to top off this year , the racecourse have in their infinite wisdom introduced a ban of no food and picnic blankets and furniture! How to alienate a big chunk of your loyal goers in one fell swoop ! Other racecourses in the UK actually let people in with food and DRINK ! Lost my business now

User

Attended ladies day yesterday - will not be back again!! What a disgrace and VERY badly organised!! To start with, the time of the first race changed without much notice?! So we missed the first race due to this and the second due to it not being sign posted at all where to go to our area (grandstand) and the horrific queues at the bar and people pushing in and getting served before us which ended up is waiting at the bar for 30 mins for 2 drinks! When to start of with was only about 7/8 people in front of it. At the end of the races we decided to get a taxi home - what a shambles!!!!!! There was no organisation at the all and I feel like after all the years it's been on surely something a lot better should be in place by now, it's not rocket science?!! There were no barriers to corden off the taxi queue so people walking past pretending they were walking to the entrance, were pushing in the front of the queue and the 1 security person was letting those people get in taxi's first which resulted in us waiting 1 hour 35 mins to get in a taxi. Only 15 mins before we got in one did they start managing it and putting up a barrier to corden off the barrier. The road should be shut to the public to let the traffic out.It was shocking and has put us off ever coming here again!!!!!

we have always loved ladies day every year and thought we would "upgrade" to the picnic package for £96, NEVER AGAIN! we were in a pen that to access u had 2 enter via the grandstand and paddock and climb over everyone else and disrupt them,to be sat miles away from any toilets, bar,or betting stands!!! ridiculous!!! there were some ladies from York next to us who were so disappointed too.really ruined our day :(
