Won tickets to see this amazing show Alice in Wonderland- thanks so much Northern Stage!! Possibly the best theatre production I have ever seen! We were all captivated from start to finish, especially my 7 year old. Original, creative and avant-garde. Superb singing and music, imaginative costumes and props, loved the fun surprises, comedy and audience participation- what more could you want?!

User

Went along to the Phoenix theatre at Blyth to see Northern Stage, War of the Worlds.

Four actors

A stage the size of a postage stamp

Biggest prop a suite case.

And it was absolutely fantastic.

Had I a hat I would have doffed it to the four talented actors and the production crew.

The only thing that could have improved it would be Justin Hayward coming on at the end to sing Forever Autumn.

We were at the relaxed performance of James and the giant peach yesterday and I have to say the entire cast/director and staff were all completely amazing and understanding. They had clearly researched what the triggers and/or needs might be for anybody needing to access a relaxed performance. The cast seemed to be able to feed off of the audience and adapt their performance accordingly as and when required to do so. It has to be the best relaxed performance we have been to. The size of the venue and the enthusiasm of the venue staff, director and cast altogether for us means it is an absolute certainty that we will be visiting again soon. Simply brilliant!

User

Took my daughters to see War Of The Worlds last night, we all found it totally gripping and enthralling. Amazing what 4 people on a stage can do with just words and sounds. Thank you.

User

Shout out to Northern Stage who gave us the best wedding day ever! My husband and I saw The Last Ship at Northern Stage yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything from the acting and singing to the music, lighting and scenery were fantastic and scene changes were seamless and slick. I’d recommend this show to anyone, absolutely superb!

User

Lucky enough to catch the final performance of Alice in Wonderland today and loved it. Clever, magical and funny, with a fantastic score, it was a treat for all. Our favourite part was joining in with the food fight!

User

User

Just watched a very talented bunch of Northumbria students in their final year perform Dissocia , a mental health related performance with a twist. Extremely funny with a sad ending performed with passion and humour. Well done to all! Tickets still available £9 for the rest of the week if anyone wants a good night out.

User

Just been to see production of Alice and wonderland with my 3 (almost 4) and 6 year old. Weird, wonderful and fantastic. My two (who are usually a bit fidgety) we’re hooked all the way through. Highly recommended!

User

Just been to see Alice in Wonderland with 5 kids ranging in age from 12 to 6. It was absolutely fantastic!! The energy of all the actors was amazing. What a talented bunch! We loved every second - especially the food fight. Staff in the bar and box office were friendly and helpful too. We will be back!

User

I won tickets for alice in wonderland in a competition and really didnt know what to expect but what we got was an amazing, professional show.

Weird and wonderful amd managed to keep the attention of 9 and 5 year old boys for the whole show.

User

I saw James and the Giant Peach for the 2nd time, today-having seen it before Christmas with my 7 year old son and his friend. It was so good, I decided we should see it again with my husband and our 13 year old daughter, too. It was enthralling from the word go. Where the actors get their energy from, I have no idea! Superb acting, dancing and musicianship, throughout. The sets were amazing with a beautiful underwater scene and imaginative cloud men and sharks on scooters! The audience involvement was fabulous-we loved the bubbles and the Giant Peach passing! Just magical from start to finish. The theatre staff were fantastic, too. Very helpful and smiley, happy to talk to children and grown ups, alike.

User

I had my first visit to the northern stage on Saturday to see War of the Worlds. Really cleverly performed by a cast of four, with a nice little twist having it set in the north east. Great work by everyone involved.

Next up - The Last Ship

User

I can't even put into words how utterly amazing this performance was ! A childhood story which I could recall was brought to life in spectacular fashion ! The characters were world class and I was drawn in from the start and glancing to the side to see my children's faces just made it an experience I will never forget !! I can't even pick a favourite each person had their own special part to play even the audience! Please get these guys back together at this theatre in the future !! I will never go pad Northern Stage in the future you have brought out a side if me on NYE I never new existed !! Well done all ❤️🎄❤️

User

Fab venue and terrific show! Best Christmas present and well worth the wait! Can’t wait to return!

User

Came to see the Owl and the Pussy Cat this week with my 2 and 5yo kids. It was awesome! All 3 of us loved it and the kids were mesmerised from start to finish. Simply brilliant. Would highly recommend it.

User

Blown away by the fantastic performance of "The Last Ship". A must see for anyone with their roots in the North-East. Amazing lighting effects and projection eased the audience from one place to another in seamless scene changes. The cast gave an energetic performance with great musical accompaniment. Well done everyone!! We love our visits to this theatre.

User

Been here to watch the last ship - AMAZING. I would recommend this to anyone who was born and bred in the north east. Great venue, atmosphere and performances from a very talented cast.
