Northumbria Gliding Club Description
Northumbria Gliding Club welcomes members of the public and glider pilots from other clubs to glide with us at extremely competitive prices.
Power pilots welcome £5 landing fee / £15 commercial
**OPEN WED, SAT, SUN, BANK HOLS AND BOXING DAY**
Clubhouse provides drinks, snacks and toilet / shower facilities. All welcome to our BBQ's and other regular social events.

Trial Lessons available, all include 28 days club membership (please do use this to fly at members rates! )
Aerotow to 2, 000ft - £70 (approx 15-20 minute flight)
Aerotow to 3, 000ft - £85 (approx 20-30 minute flight)

Congratulations to Stewart and Tony from Cairngorm Gliding Club for completing their cross country endorsements with us yesterday!
We’ve had an absolutely outstanding week with 145 aerotows completed.
Our visitors from Nene Valley Gliding Club and Peterborough and Spalding Gliding Club departed today, having finished their week yesterday with wave giving climbs to 10,000ft (and could have gone higher with oxygen).
Special mention also goes to Sebastian and Martin who managed to gain their Motorglider ratings on Friday, Mark who successfully converted onto his Grob 109B and finally to Dave who climbed back into a single seater this week after a number of years and today soared for more than 2 hours in some absolutely smashing thermal!
An absolutely wonderful evening flying 15 scouts. Our visitors from Nene Valley Gliding Club and Peterborough and Spalding Gliding Club also had their site checks to get them started for the rest of the week! It was even soarable with some weak North Westerly wave, allowing extended flights right up until sunset :)
One of our visitors enjoying her flight and is quite welcome to come back and do it all again hopefully on another good day like today.
A successful day with 124 takeoffs and landings completed! 🙂

A very productive weekend last weekend! Lots of soaring and training to be had. Our Dimona finally got its UK registration number too! ☺️
The weather turned out better than expected but rained later on in the afternoon with 6 visitors getting to fly and thoroughly enjoying themselves
