We will be investing £150million across our sites by 2023.
In all, £92million will be spent on buildings, with The Northumbria seeing a brand new ambulatory care centre, so those who need help but don’t require an overnight stay can be seen faster

this is the 3rd time we have been in with my little boy and every single time they have gone above and beyond for him every single nurse and doctor that come into the room are so friendly and always let me know whats going on and what the plans are it takes alot of worry away knowing hes in such good hands here i dont think the staff get the recognition they deserve on the childrens ward working long shifts and still having a smile on there face no matter what hour of the day or night it is they even came in to let him decorate biscuits this morning which may not sound much but it got my little boy up and put a smile on his face they dont get paid enough!!! thank you to every single one of you for the care you have given and i hope that this gets back to all the staff who was on shift monday 11th june and tuesday 12th june you are all amazing xxxxxx

User

You are super heroes!!! I am over the moon with the treatment my son received at the paediatric a&e. My son had a head injury. We were in two days and both days we were seen quick and efficiently. Your team give a shit about the care and the person. X

User

Would just like to say thankyou to the labour ward. It was a nightmare getting in but that is due to cut backs and everything. I can't thank the midwife the student midwife the doctor and the guys that done my epidural eoungh. Amazing team work! My labour could of killed me and my daughter if it wasn't for the professional outstanding work of the team around me. Now I have a beautiful healthy nearly 8 month old. When I have another baby I hope for a very much so smoother labour but I would definitely have the same midwifes and hopefully the student midwife is through university and back at Cramlington she was amazing for being younger than myself!!

5 stars!

P.s can't say the same about the pregnancy assessment unit. Far to busy, was forgot about had to keep buzzing for help out of bed to get my crying baby. Didn't get offered any pain killers. Until I asked for them and then I had to keep asking for them. Then they forgot to discharge me so ended up in for nearly 3 days my partner had to go and ask when I was being let out they response was "we forgot to discharge them because we have been so busy" not a very good ward in my experience.

Was admitted through my doctor and 111 on fri , for a sebaceous abcess on my back .

Was seen quite quickly although it said 6/7 hr wait .

Cant thank all the staff enough for their care and general niceness .

Staff on ward 6 were amazing , nothing was a bother .

The theatre staff , especially the lovely anaesthetic dr were all so lovely and janet , the nurse who was with me when i came round , a truly lovely team of people .

Thank u again to everyone involved and well done NHS i am so grateful for the care I received.

User

Thank you for all that you do I seriously can't thank the NHS enough who have been great with my with daughter when she was really poorly and me recently too.

User

Paediatric a&e is absolutely fantastic! First time I have ever had to use this hospital tonight. My 4yo son split his head open, the staff were incredible with him. He came away all glued together again and a very happy boy with his new teddy for being so brave. Such a lovely thought. Thank you very much to the staff that seen to him!!

User

Outstanding care by all staff. My daughter was in very good hands. Excellent care from

The same doctor and twice daily reviews.

The nurses were so lovely and caring to my

Little girl and even consoled a very upset mummy.

The nursery nurse Lindsey was amazing and went out her way to help my little

Girl stay occupied even when in isolation.

She took time to spend

With my little girl on a 1-1 and even made crispy cakes with her.

Thank you to all the team.

My daughter and her partner have just had their daughter and my granddaughter in the NSECH birthing centre. I had the privilege of being a birthing partner.

It was evident from the first that the staff ethos is person centred and professional to the last. Every staff member are us welcome, kept us informed and showed such care and personal attention to my daughter and coped with our anxieties when things did not go quite to plan.

The midwives made us feel like we were their only patient when we knew they were also dealing with other ladies also in labour.

Michael Burns was the midwife who eventual delivered our little bundle of joy and she gave my daughter the strength to get through the birth.

The lovely ladies who came to help breastfeeding , the ward sister Aurora , the reg Rachael , the student midwife Annabelle, Janet, Joanne and Katie all had the same warm and caring manner which said to me that this wasn’t a one off but just the way they work as a cohesive team.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and for the safe delivery of our granddaughter and the care you gave our daughter.

Thanks is really not enough

User

Massive thank you to all the doctors and nurses that cared for me for two days..I was treated with care and dignity and I don’t think you get the recognition you all deserve..so thank you you are all doing a brilliant job x

User

Just want to thank all the staff on the birthing ward for helping my partner bring my second daughter into the world I cannot fault any part of the process or assistance from all the staff and I'm sure if daisy Mae could speak she would thank yous as well

User

Just left the hospital after having my first child. I don’t normally leave reviews and even though I have to look after my newly born daughter I felt I had to leave this, as the least I could do is give the staff a shout out. Without going into specifics there were a few complications after the birth meaning my partner needed to stay in an extra few days. The staff in the birthing centre were unbelievable throughout. They were literally faultless in their care and staying tentative without being intrusive. Even though I wasn’t a patient I was allowed to stay and was also looked after as they understood the emotional stress I was under when the complications occurred. Anyone who is wondering if they should go to the RVI or Cramlington then I would highly recommend Cramlington as you will be in excellent hands throughout your stay.

Thank you so much to the birthing centre staff you are all a credit to the NHS

User

I would just like to send this quick message to say a HUGE thank you!!! My daughter and partner were involved in a car crash tonight, I took them to hospital as they were both in a lot of pain. The staff / doctors were amazing, they were both seen straight away and the level of care was outstanding! Well done to you all in the A&E department, once again thank you

User

I recently suffered an extremely painful herniated disc combined with bladder issues and was taken here last weekend. I had an MRI scan and spent 4 days on Ward 1 recovering.

I honestly cannot express my gratitude enough towards every single member of staff who looked after me during my stay.

Special mention to Lucy (night shift) and Sarah (day shift) from Ward 1. Always made sure I was comfortable, made me as many cuppa’s as I could drink and always bringing me little treats

I’m currently recovering well and am no longer in a lot of pain. Touch wood I’ll be back at gym in no time

Thank you again and keep up the good work

User

I have been in Cramlington hospital since Thursday evening and have just got home. I just wanted to thank all of the staff that helped me during my stay on ward 12 and ward 15. You are all amazing at what you do! A special thanks to Nursing Assistant Colin (ward 15), you cheered me right up! Take care

User

Cant thank you enough for what you did for my dad in September when he collapsed at home. If it were not for you i would not have a dad, he was admitted on the cardiac ward. His treatment was fantastic, as were all the staff, i left a review on the Northumbria NHS trust page, my dad had a sickness bug while i was away on holiday an did not tell me he was ill while i was away on holiday, all this happened the day after i got back, even the paramedic crew was fantastic, his heart rate was 30, bpm but after a few shots of atropine an a drip for rehidration he was stable enough to go to hospital where he spent the night, the staff here were fantastic, wards were clean to, he had dignity an respect shown at all times, wish i could give this more than five stars as you saved my dads life,, thank you so much, please pass this on to the staff on the cardiac ward at this hospital. His after care was fantastic to, thankfully no lasting damage an it was all down to his treatment from Northumbria NHS trust an of course this fantastic hospital.

User

Attended the A+E unit with chest sensations and a general sense of being unwell and weak. The service provided was outstanding, every staff member I came into contact with was friendly and tried their best to make me feel comfortable. Efficient and fast triage. Having to go to hospital is never a pleasant experience, but I felt truly safe and looked after. The facilities are a beacon for the NHS, clean and modern, with nice touches like orchards in the waiting area. A nurse took my blood, I hardly noticed the needle going in with almost zero bruising after. Once I was on the ambulatory care ward I noticed how a cleaner thoroughly cleaned the seats in the room and wiped tables. Its good to see that high standards of hygiene are maintained, not giving MRSA and other bugs a chance!

User

Absolutely amazing in & out with in an hour my son had dislocated his shoulder seen by lovely nurses and the Doctor was fab huge thank you from robert chambers & his scared Mam xxx

User

Had to take my grandson to the hospital today after an accident he had climbing . When we arrived the receptionist was very nice took our details printed them off gave me paper work and headed me in direction of children's a&e . We were met walking down the corridor they put us in a room quickly read Josh's notes and got him on pain relief immediately as soon as he was comfortable Claire assessed his injury and cleaned the wound all the time talking to Josh and reassuring him . Then explained in detail what was to be done with the help of Jane and Katherine they managed to put Josh's stitches in all the time making sure Josh was comfortable and in no pain he enjoyed lying watching the 3D tv then they gave him stickers and a teddy bear for being so brave . Teddy even had same dressing in place as Josh's . Well done girls thank you so much for making this experience a good one for him he even said himself that it wasn't that bad going to the hospital ! He was crying hysterically about going saying he didn't want to go and when we got there he was still frightened but soon was put at ease by Claire and Katherine . Well done and thank you

Took my 5 year daughter here after being referred from wansbeck. She's not been right since end of February. High temperature, vomiting and other symptoms, doctors were dismissive told me that it was viral and to give her Calpol, after I made a fuss they took some swabs, gave me a sample kit and sent us home. A few days later my daughter was poorly again with ear ache, local doctor deemed it was an ear infection, checking the notes from the test results they confirmed that she had an infection at the earlier appointment at cramlington hospital. The notes from there to my gp said that they had prescribed antibiotics and sent us home? They did no such thing! My baby girl has suffered another week because of this hospitals negligence! Even the nurses at the hospital complained about the level of care from the ever changing doctors at this place. I will never use this hospital again and will be writing an official complaint to the hospital trust!
