The Evening Chronicle have written a lovely article about our ‘Benton Beer Festival’ this weekend. It starts Friday and continues through until Sunday. Come on down!

Friday 17th to Sunday 19th August. Benton Beer Festival at Novos RFC. 12 local real ales, 4 ciders, gin and prosecco bars. Live bands on Friday and Saturday night. Entry, £5 to include first 2 drink tokens.

Congratulations to Imandi! Hopefully, she is the first of many county school girls to play for both Novos and the RGS!

Ex-Novos stalwart Peter Taylor was tonight portrayed in the BBC’s ‘A Very English Scandal’. Taylor would have been captain of Novos in 1956-57 had it not been considered that his studies would stop him training regularly and giving him the necessary administration time. However, Taylor was able to play for Northumberland between 1951-57; later captaining the senior county side.

... Novos offer our deepest condolences to Durham City RFC and the families of Thomas Howard and Tom Baty, who sadly passed away this week. They were great men, both on and off the pitch; all at Novos will miss them greatly.

Novos Under 16s retained the Northumberland County Cup after a thrilling 23-21 victory over Tynedale. The future at Novos could be very bright!

Novos 1st XV take on Gosforth today in their final league game of the season. Tomorrow our Under 16s are in their 3rd consecutive Northumberland County Cup Final and hope to win for a second time. They face Tynedale with a kick off at 12:30.

Novos are happy to announce that we will once again be hosting our very own beer festival!
Held over the weekend of Saturday 18th August we will be looking to build on the success of last year in putting on an even better event for all.

Novos have four senior fixtures today. Before our 1st XV fixture against Guisborough, the club will officially unveil the Mike Perry Kitchen, with a pre match lunch. Mike’s close friends and family will be in attendance as the club toast his memory and generosity. Elsewhere, the 2nd XV are away to Middlesbrough, the 3rd XV host Tynedale and the 4th XV take on Rockcliff.
