A few simple things to know when it comes to lifting weights:
Compound lifts - a lift involving multiple joints and muscles. These should be done early on in your workout. Examples of compounds - deadlift, squat, pull up, bench press.
Isolation lifts - where one joint (or one pair of joints) is in motion working one muscle. These should be done at the end of your workout. Example of isolation lifts - bicep curl, leg extension, pec fly, tricep pull down.
... This could help give you proper structure to your workouts.

Wow where to start? I'm just starting my second batch of PT sessions with Joe and my progress so far has been outstanding! My fitness levels have increased to the point of being the fittest I've ever been, I'm doing things I never thought I could, I'm shedding pounds I thought were stuck with me forever and now I'm a dress size I thought I'd kissed goodbye too at 19!
