Wow! I had a 3 course lunch with friends. It was divine. Incredible flavours to excite the palette. And, completely unexpectedly, taster dishes were served before the starter course and again before the main course. Warm mini loaf with smoky whipped butter. Vietnamese open sandwich, just to die for! And 2 other delicious sampler dishes. I am not keen on fish and almost never order it anywhere but l decided to try the red mullet and now l’m a convert! Individually the portion sizes may seem small but the entire meal ensures you are completely full at the end of it. So, unless you have a monster appetite, don’t be put off. The surroundings and ambience is beautiful and the staff thoroughly attentive, friendly and helpful. We all agreed we will be going back.
What an amazing experience we were there yesterday for my birthday we had the 3 course lunch and ordered many sides (which we really didn’t need as the menu was enough but it was my bday and it sounded so good ) food was soooooo good and the team that look after you from the moment you enter were brilliant we will be back again soon to try the 10 course tasting menu 😃
Went today for lunch and wow it was amazing! Can’t wait to go back! Literally every meal was fantastic! Thanks! And they were super helpful with my mother in law who is a coeliac!
We were told about this restaurant, so booked, from the outside I had reservations however once inside the place was beautiful, the staff attentive and great service, the food was delicious and well worth the visit, a good choice of wines went down well with the superb food this place is well worth a visit we will be back again when in Newcastle
We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The starters were amazing! I had the pigeon - it was to die for. I would definitely go back. My tastebuds we’re having a disco! Totally recommend it 100%.
We went for a great family meal on Good Friday, and I just had to say how incredible the fish and chips were. Such great value with the fantastic bread, canapés and brioche burger with home made sauce. The hoisin duck starter was one of the best duck dishes I have ever tasted! As always we had excellent service from the Peace and Loaf team. Can't wait for next year
We came all the way from Canada to eat here and we were not disappointed. Shout out to Chef Simon, Front of House Linden and all the staff for an amazing and delicious experience.
Visited the peace and loaf in jesmond today with my partner and 4year old.
I got the raw stake and mushroom pie starter, wasn't 100% sure on my choice but it was amazing big 10/10 so much flavour and just nice for a starter before a dinner.
Our mains were both the beef mine was pink and my partner had well done (nice to have the choice) our daughter only wanted mash, broccoli and gravy and they were more than happy to do this for us. She ate the lot, so I was very happy with that.
My partner got a pudding he said it was lovely. All in all we look forward to our next visit!
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening working our way through the tasting menu - each course was delightful (but special mention for the minced raw steak with kimichi mishrooms & the pressed duck)
The staff were fantastic ... knowledgeable, enthusiastic, helpful and supportive.
Finally the cocktails at the start, the vet alcolic sorbet and the recommended dessert wine “Elysium Black Muscat” were all exceptional
We’ll be back!
Thanks for a delicious lunch and for looking after us so well. A lovely afternoon, fabulous food and great service.
Only in Newcastle for one night and Peace & Loaf recommended. As a lone diner felt very relaxed.
Three courses, and the little extras, was so filling.
Excellent food and great service. Will be back next time in the vicinity.
My partner and I visited this restaurant for my birthday yesterday. The whole experience was brilliant, the service was fantastic and the place was beautiful.
The food was unbelievably tasty and not usually something I'd choose, however each peace would blow me away!
Our waiter was welcoming, he recommended a wine for us, talked us through the ingredients in each course and was an all round star.
Even the temperature of the room was perfect haha.
Thank you a lot for making my birthday great!
I had a promotion meal there last night with my work. The service was excellent! and the staff made sure to explain everything which was served to us! I loved the little taster bits and all the rest of the food! Presentation spot on and the taste was brilliant. I would certainly go back!!
Had a fab night in Peace and Loaf tonight Thank you to Sami and Luke for taking the time to explain the menu and wine pairing and answering any questions we had, would highly recommend the taster menu.
Absolutely delicious menu xx
Food and service absolutely top class.......and the appetizers between courses are always the nicest of surprises. One gripe ; the last twice I have been I was asked when booking if it was a special occasion. Once it was my 65th and the second time my wife's 60th birthdays. No idea why we were asked because nothing happened. Don't ask if you aren't going to mark the special occasion in some way.
Exceptional menu. The food at this restaurant is of a very very high standard. Absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend and can’t wait to return.
Everything was delicious.....gorgeous little loaves with truffle butter. Raw steak and mushroom pie, did not know what to expect but it was lovely and the steak melted in the mouth. The roast dinner with all the trimmings was exactly that, lovely soft pork belly with wafer thin crackling, every vegetable you could possibly want and I particularly loved the red cabbage! Huge Yorkshire pudding and delicious hot gravy! My dessert was banana and popcorn, lovely, and hubby had the textured beetroot, very unusual and very tasty!
The service was impeccable and we look forward to our next visit
Can't believe I waited so long to try this place
Food was amazing
Staff so friendly and do anything we asked
Drinks nice and cold
This is way better then house of tides
Can't wait to come back
Amazing little gem in Jesmond. Everything about this restaurant was first class. Champagne top notch and Cote De Provence nice and chilled. The 3 course menu was excellent value fir the high standard of food. The tasters in between the courses were a nice surprise and generated a lot of discussion... beetroot and marshmallow WOW.
This was certainly a lazy lunch and certainly a return visit will be made soon.
