We were here for a private party. The bar staff were excellent - the choice of beverages superb. The buffet - delicious - something for everyone. Having once been a racing cyclist this place brought back so many memories with all the memorabilia on display. My last serious race was on a bike not too dissimilar from the restored Moser for sale. Love this place and will be sending them memorabilia from my collection to share

There are three interconnected units:

The Urban bakery sells beautiful artisan bread and homemade pies and cakes. Next stop a coffee or a great tin mug of tea in the cafe bar. They serve tasty veggie and vegan paninis and a whole other range of food. I haven’t tried the bar yet. The theme/decor is cycli ng and has a relaxing feel to it. Best of all , i had my bike serviced and "fixed" at the Repair shop . Great value for money and the guy could not do enough to make sure I was happy with the end result. He went the extra mile and then some.

So after work today and seeing as you guys are always coming into where I work, I brought the husband along to "Pedalling Squares" fora late lunch after work.

You came highly recommended and we weren't sure what to expect. Have to say what a fabulous place "Pedalling Squares" is.

It's modern, and yet old with lots of interesting little bits and bobs hanging around. It has a cosy little corner with a wood burner and big comfy swallow me up arm chairs. It has the aura and charm of an old village workshop, I absolutely love it.

The menu is filled with choices, we tried a burger and chips.. and it was delicious, it looked every bit as good, if not better than a picture we had seen... The portions are more than adequate in size and price... The burgers just oozed flavour, and the freshly cooked chips were the best we have tasted in a long time. We were well and truly stuffed !! Lol.

We will be coming back, the place is just to good not too....!!

Really nice cycling centric café and venue. The ambience, food & coffee (even with a knackered coffee machine) were all really good & the service excellent. Even enjoyed a game of pool with my son. Also as it's on my regular training ride route, I've now got somewhere good to drop in for that mid ride coffee. We'll be back! Also the nice touch was somewhere secure to leave your bike. The only downside I could comment on is they only seem to have a single toilet for all, which might be a problem when they're busy.

Our first visit and we liked the place. We had drinks but there were others having food which I must say looked fantastic nice homemade thick chunky chips. If you have kids there are games to play. If your cycling you can park your bike there and have refreshments use the toilet etc. We will be visiting again

Love this place. Went yesterday for the first time as a friend recommended it for a cooked breakfast. (Was planning a hangover). It was fab. Food spot on and great vide about the place. Everyone was really friendly. Even the other customers who must have been regulars. 🙂

It's lovely to see emergency workers coming in for a warm drink before they are back out there looking after us all in this harsh winter weather. Thanks for the lush food guys x

I'm a runner, and I love calling in after a run through the Derwent Valley. Love all the cycling memorabilia too.

I was encouraged to try the peanut butter and banana toastie (me the obsessive porridge eater!) and was NOT disappointed !

User

Great place to stop of for a bite to eat after a long bike ride.

User

First time here, why have I not been before? Not like the normal cafes where you walk in and feel uncomfortable In all your cycling gear hot and sweaty, bloke said outside to 'get myself in with the bike ' hung bike up on the hanger and sat down to a decent coffee and scrambled eggs on toast.. Will have to go back for something more indulgent, very chilled place and decent ambience can imagine it being a decent atmosphere on a summers day, loads of beers to choose from, decor is retro and stylish adorned by cycling memorabilia the way a cycling place should be but not just a cycling cafe. SPOT ON.

User

English breakfast was spot on, proper coffee and really unique atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.

Another superb lunch yesterday with one of Josh's rugby mates from Blaydon Under 12's. They both went with the pulled pork burger with wedges. It was Ewan's first visit to Pedalling Squares, but he was waxing lyrical to his folks when he got home that we may have to arrange a team breakfast after training one Sunday morning!! Get yourself along, as I keep saying it's not just for cyclists!! Cheers JC
