We had my son's 21st Birthday meal here last week. I have to say i was very impressed. From the start there was 15 of us we pre ordered all our meals 2 courses each and everything came out correct piping hot and very delicious. They allowed me to decorate the table with balloons and banners and nothing was any trouble. The staff were amazing very attentive and made it a special night. They allowed me to bring a cake and they brought it out all lit for him. He had the best night and i just have to say a huge thank you to all the staff nothing was any trouble . Empty plates all round and will definatly be back.

User

Stopped here by chance and so glad we did, warm and friendly atmosphere with great bar staff who couldn’t do enough! Highly recommend here if your a gin lover, great selection

User

Popped in on the way back from the tall ships.First time wont be the last.Light and airy with a great ambience.

User

Lovely food and cocktails, good value for money, didn’t get the waitress name but she was very nice and worked hard all night

User

Lovely bar. Came in with the girls mid-week for a 'ladies who lunch meeting'. Such a lovely atmosphere, bar staff lovely and so friendly! Mid-week 2 for £10 cocktails.. what's not to like!

User

I have been a few times for Sunday lunch and each time it has been great. Generous portions at a very good price, especially given the fact you can choose between 1,2 or 3 courses! The place itself is lovely and in a perfect spot right by the beach!l giving views out over the sea!

User

Had food with my girlfriend, buttermilk chicken burger was amazing the staff service was superb thankyou Cara lavelle

User

Great staff, great service, top food & cocktails to die for.

User

Best atmosphere, service, cocktails and the food all quality couldn’t pick a fault. Richard was a great host nothing was too much to ask really added to our first experience in the restaurant! Highly recommend:)

User

Arrived about 12ish, quite quiet so grabbed table by the window. Ordered the pea soup and watermelon salad as starters, both delicious. Hubby ordered turkey roast and I ordered the cabbage roulade. He thought the turkey a little tasteless but turkey can be like that. The vegetables and Yorkshire puds done to perfection. My roulade was heaven. Quick service by friendly staff. Two starters, two mains and two pints, £32. Excellent value. This was our second visit and will definitely be back.

User

Good food.... after an hour and a half wait for starters and mains. Poor service and I don’t find the staff very friendly they have serious attitude problems when asked how long our starters were going to be. A lot of customers complaining that night about the poor service. Nice place and nice food but think they need to find some more warm and welcoming staff... knocked our drinks off our bill for the wait so cheers for that 👍🏻👍🏻

User

Food is lovely, everything came in dribs and drabs because there was 6 of us. There are a good selections of drinks. Music too loud, we couldn’t speak to the whole table, which you could have done as the table was round. I spoke to one side of the table. My husband spoke to the other, we didn’t speak to each other even though we were sitting next to each other! It was for my daughters 21st, it was her choice and she thoroughly enjoyed it, which is the main thing.

User

Went yesterday(Christmas Eve) lunch time. Booked table for 1:15 but arrived just before. Service was very slow. Ordered drink/cocktails and food . There were 5 adults and 2 children . Had to wait an hour for food and wasn’t worth the wait. My husband ordered the lg nachos - didn’t enjoy so left them. My sons meal of fish and chips arrived on a cold plate- so the food was cold. My 3 yr oldsl grandchild child’s menu of fish and chips arrived on a plate far too hot for any of us to handle. It was actually too dangerous for a 3 yr old. Sent them 2 meals back and asked where other child food was, was asked what we ordered. One child menu came back on cold plate but the other child and adults took another half hour. Complained - why do they not deliver child food first, after all it is off a child menu??? Very very disappointed. Manager took price of children’s food off and gave us a round of drinks. Really does not compensate for a “family Christmas Eve lunch”.

User

Went for birthday trip, Sunday lunch was poor, lumpy mash, hard roast and parsnips, no crackling and hard yorkies, double cooked chips were a soggy mess and the runny eggs were not runny! Cocktails were great to start, no happy hour as described, ordered a cotton candy with no cotton candy! Overall very disappointed in what should have been a fab night out and away with some of my girlfriends.

User

Visited on the weekend of the Tall Ships. I bought a bottle of prosecco which was put in a plastic bottle bag with ice and plastic glass to take outside. As we went outside I was approached by one of your security staff who asked how I had walked out with a bottle. I advised him that it had been put in the bag for that reason. He then asked me to go inside and proceeded to pour the whole bottle of £20 prosecco into a plastic pint glass. I was absolutely disgusted. My drink was now flat and I was disgusted at how I was treated. Why put the bottle in a plastic bag if you can't go outside????? I had also bought a bottle of gin from reception which I carried in the paper bag and asked the security staff about that glass bottle, he told me to keep it in the bag. We spend not short of £100 that day in your pub (including the gin from reception), I'm most upset how you can treat your customers like this needless to say we won't be visiting again.

User

So second week we’ve been to ‘attempt’ to get Sunday dinner. Last week waited 15 minutes to be seated, whilst numerous staff walked past and didn’t even acknowledge us. To the point we chose to sit in the bar and seat ourselves!

Tried again today, to be told we can sit in the bar which was fine as weren’t booked, but due to a 35 minute wait on food we were unable to order for another 10 minutes when we got to the bar. Such a disappointment as the bar itself is great. But avoid the place on a Sunday like the plague!

User

Booked a table for 8.30pm there were 5 in the party,we ordered the 5 tapas to start but bib not bring cops etc out!! Then by 9,40’still no main however after complaining it eventually arrived I had burger which was warm with burnt chips 3 people had pies and veg was freezing one had raw pastry on!! We complained as there was only one other lartge table in and a couple so there for this should not have happened it’s basic food. They waived the bill which was the right thing to do but what a shame the place is going downhill

User

Turned up to poetic licence at 8pm tonight for a bite to eat prior to going to the cinema as we have been before and really enjoy the food however on this occasion we stood in the designated area waiting to be seated where the waitress walked past us 3 times with 0 acknowledgement! As we stand there for a good 10 minutes a lovely waitress comes from the bar and asks if we have been seen yet as in her words we had been standing there for ages! She sat us at a table and gave us a moment to order our drinks........... however no one returned.....

30 minutes later with no service we have walked out. Never have I been so disgusted in a service received from a food establishment.

The waitress who walked past us 3 times again walked past us as we were being seated by another waitress not even in the restaurant section with not even a passing comment. How people can work in customer service with this attitude I don't know .....

User

Loved the atmosphere and decor in the bar/restaurant with a fantastic selection of their own distilled gins. However steer clear of the food. Ordered lamb kofka hanging kebab - arrived after quite a while and it was really pink inside so after trying to get the waitress attention for about 15mins, she agreed and took it back to the kitchen. Apparently chef thinks it’s perfectly acceptable so serve minced meat pink! They prepared another one - same again, very pink inside, plus was handed a dirty plate to accompany it - nice. So I ended up not eating that evening after looking forward to it all day. It’s unacceptable!
