At Premier Inn, we’re proud to say we have so many amazing women working for us. From work placements and training courses to leading apprenticeship programmes, we are always striving for them to go further. Here’s just one of the many stories we have to share about the talented women who work at Premier Inn and is proof that hard work pays off!
At the age of 18 Michaela Reynolds was one of 172 people put forward for 19 jobs. Despite having to catch five different buses to an...d from work, this didn’t stop her determination as she worked her way up from Housekeeper to Head Housekeeper to Reception Team Leader. After achieving her Level 4 apprenticeship, she became Hotel Manager of not just one, but two of our Birmingham hotels. To achieve all of this in just five and a half years is incredible.
She says: “I truly endorse this business as a great place to work. I was lucky with the support I’ve had from my managers here – when I joined I was a shy 18-year-old, but my managers along the way have recognised my potential and helped me to develop.”

For Level 4 apprentice and Assistant Manager Neil Hunt, since working for Whitbread, it’s all been about the growth in his self-confidence. Neil believes Whitbread has so much potential and scope for development for employees wanting to progress through the company and that the opportunities are endless. We’re proud to say that Whitbread are committed to investing in quality apprenticeships. Of the 647 apprenticeships Whitbread currently have in learning, 300 of them started last year. To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we’re sharing the stories of just some of our amazing apprentices who tell us what their apprenticeships have meant for them.
Reception team member Beth Walker realised hospitality was her calling after a week’s work experience with Premier Inn. Now a full time apprentice, she says working for Premier Inn has built her self-confidence and significantly grown her organisation and communication skills. I don't really have the words to describe my gratitude for what you did for us on 3rd May. Thank you so so so much. After being let down by the accommodation we had originally booked and on the morning of OUR WEDDING no less, The Premier Inn, Wolviston came to our rescue. My husband spoke to a 'Natalie' at the front desk who was sympathetic kind and helpful and we booked a very last minute room. On arrival the room was decorated with towel swans, champagne glass banners, confetti sprinkles and a bottle of wine. This was amazing and such a wonderful surprise, so unexpected. The best end to a fantastic day. Thank you again. xxxxxx

I cannot start to begin to express how helpful the staff were in this hotel. Especially Georgia on Reception. She was so kind and helpful as while I was in Stockton I was dealing with a difficult and stressful situation. She even got me a coffee whilst I was on the phone at 07:30 in the morning sat in reception. All the staff had a smile on their face and the restaurant staff were also chatty pleasant and helpful. The hotel room was excellent as always and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you to all the staff.

User

Highly recommend all the staff are really friendly and would go out of there way to help.

User

First class accommodation, service and breakfast. Five star review, no question.

User

Enjoyed the stay, top sleep only issue was been told me n work colleagues looked dodgy when we went for breakfast, wonder if the same would of been said if we were suited n booted, instead of construction work clothes!!!!

User

Brilliant as always clean, fresh, and very helpful! Magic Toby carvery next door, well worth the money!!

User

Another great hotel, although all the same, restaurant was good in hotel and staff very helpful. We stop at Premier inns all the time as we travel around the country a lot, can't be beaten for value and comfort

User

had a lovely nights sleep and breakfast was great However the screaming parent at 7:00 am I wasn't impressed with🤔

User

I booked this one as it’s about £30 cheaper than the marina. We were put in the new extension so the room was very nice and clean and new (my brother n family were in the old bit and a bit jealous so asked to be moved).

Checked in on line, nice welcome when we arrived. Everything good. Always find the 4 little milks in the room a joke as you need all of them to make one brew. Breakfast was ok, have to order your fry up, no self service. She forgot black pudding n mushrooms, beans were congealed on the plate. Still did the job.

Toby carvery next door was good for a bed time drink. Will defo stay again.

My husband and i booked a double room for us to stay over 2 nights, new years eve and the night after. We had to change our booking, a week before, to a family room as our son is Autistic and decided he wanted to come with us. The staff were very helpful on the phone and understood the situation and accomodated us by changing our booking with out any problems. As my son had a meltdown the day before, he didnt want to come with us so when we got to the hotel it wasnt a problem at all, the bed was very comfortable.

The only issue i have is when we got into our room the bathroom wasnt cleaned very well. The mirror hadnt been cleaned and the toilet smelled of urine all around it which caused the bathroom to smell rather unpleasant. There was a few speckles of dirt or something else on the tiles next to the toilet.

User

In need of slick if paint and the carpets need a good clean , room had a musty smell but was clean .

User

User
