In a fast moving, ever evolving generation it's become all too easy to get stuck in a whirlwind of fad diets and fitness crazes that promise to deliver that 'beach ready body' in no time. Great! But now you've binned every last carb in your cupboard, you're onto day 129 of the 30 day squat challenge because 'I'll start again tomorrow' became all too familiar and the only six pack that seems possibly attainable is the one sitting in the fridge.

I'm Sinéad Bennett, a fully qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor focused on delivering tried and tested methods of traditional fitness. After all, it's not a short term diet, its a long term lifestyle change and I am here to guide, teach and motivate you through tailor-made exercise plans. From the age of 2 attending dance classes in a snowsuit to now training regularly in the gym and completing half marathons, I can honestly say fitness has been a core passion that's stayed with me my entire life. From athletics, county level hockey, Irish dancing to tennis and many more I've built a vast skill base and I'm now ready to pass this knowledge on to help build confidence and change lives.

To find yourself, be the person you're meant to be and have that be enough because after all the world breaks everyone, and afterward, many are strong at the broken places. Just remember the way you think about a person isn't the way they actually are so first be kind, be gentle and ...do no harm. You don't get to chose if you get hurt in this world but that's the thing about pain - it demands to be felt, it doesn't change you, it reveals you. So many people live within unhappy circumstances because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity and conservation - all which appear to give peace of mind but there is nothing more damaging to the adventurous spirit. So after posting this picture on my story I was asked ‘what kind of image are you trying to portray of yourself?’ 🤔💤🤦🏼‍♀️ So here it is .... . 🌱 STOP BODYSHAMING 🌱... . What am I portraying myself to be? ... A young HEALTHY, happy, confident young woman who has spent HOURS upon hours of work to build a body that’s strong, powerful, that I’m comfortable in. . This ‘body’ reflects hard work, SELF RESPECT, discipline, patience, work ethic and commitment to what I do, and THAT is the message you should be teaching your children to see rather than body shaming women for flexing a glute rather than a bicep. . I’ve seen endless backshots of Middle Aged women’s behinds showing their 5 stone weight loss in little knickers on pages like slimming world or ‘weight loss journeys’ and society seems to applaud these images ... yet act in horror when young, fit healthy females show their weight progression. . I’ve still a long way to go, but to get this far I’ve had to be endlessly dedicated to respecting the body I have. This is not about flashing your bot in little pants for a ‘like’ on social media. This is about EMPOWERING each other to be happy, healthy and confident in your own skin. . This picture shows nothing more than the effort I have put into looking after myself, staying disciplined in the gym, becoming stronger, lifting FOUR TIMES my bodyweight in a 240kg rack pull . Truly powerful women do not explain why they want respect. They simply don’t engage with people who don’t give it to them.’

A bit late to the woman’s day hype ... but wouldn’t be like me to ever be on time, just keeping it real 💁🏼‍♀️SO ... . I’ve been trying for five whole months after hitting a wall with dead’s to get a new PB. I’ve struggled, hit setbacks, had NUMEROUS failed attempts, changed my training, eating, approach to lifting, but I NEVER quit, I nev...er stopped trying and I never said ‘that’s the MAN’s section of the gym so I’ll just stick to cardio.’ 🤦🏼‍♀️ . I often get told ‘that’s a big weight for a girl.’ ‘You don’t see many guys pulling twice their weight’ ‘You’re strong for a female’ . But you know what? . I’m strong because I’m consistent. . I’m strong because I’m resilient. . I’m strong because YES I am a woman ... and give a woman pain, and she will turn it into POWER. 💪🏽 . ‘She was fierce. She was strong. And when she was down she got right back up. She was a beast in her own way, but one idea described her best. She was UNSTOPPABLE.’ . Girls ... please don’t be afraid to pick up a weight just because a man, or someone else is lifting more. One year ago, I struggled to just lift the bar, and nothing would have changed if I didn’t get the balls to go do something with it because ‘women don’t lift’ 🤷🏼‍♀️ .

❗️KNOWLEDGE IS POWER👇🏽❗️ ➡️ @principlephysique . FIX YOUR LEG PRESS
... So ... I hear and see a lot in the gym people saying they can stack the leg press, or thinking they can do hundreds of kg’s on the plated presses ... but when it comes to leg gains there’s nothing to show for it 🤔 . There’s probably a reason for that ... are you using the leg press correctly to train your muscle fibres, or your ego? . ✖️ The leg press is used for predominantly quad isolation, glutes and hams may get involved depending on feet position but the main focus is QUADS. .
✖️Its a common mistake that a short range keeps tension on the quads. IT DOESN’T. . ✖️Often guys will load up the leg press and only move the platform a few inches ... it may still stimulate the muscle in some way, but if you want your legs to grow you need to move through a FULL ACTIVE RANGE OF MOTION to load the tension up on the quads and engage each muscle fibre for GROWTH. . ✖️You should be aiming to let your thighs almost touch your rib cage - this will depend on flexibility and limb length, but don’t use hands on knees to aid - if it’s too heavy drop the weight or increase the effort 🤷🏼‍♀️ . ✖️If you want to build tension and keep the load in your quads, lower the back rest as close to the floor as possible. Complete a FULL rep, but ensure your lower spine is pressed into the bottom of the seat or emphasis will shift to other areas. . ✖️When you lock out, you deload your quads and rest on your joints and bones. It’s not always unsafe to do this if using a sensible weight you can manage (another myth), but if your aim is time under tension, don’t lock out 💁🏼‍♀️ . ➡️ Working out is not a game of paint by numbers. If you want to build thick, dense muscle, you should be working through full complete heavy reps. It’s great to hit the big PB’s, partial reps are at times useful, but they don’t increase quad tension, they have a time and place. Like Frank Zane said ... ‘Your body doesn’t know the absolute weight of what you lift, it only recognises how heavy it feels.’

Guys ... your results are a mirror of YOUR EFFORT. Your self discipline. ... . ❗️Your goals may be different, I’ve still got such a long way to progress, but I KNOW that it won’t happen by sitting TALKING about it.💪🏽 I’m TIRED of talkers. . ❗️ My job as a PT is to watch, coach and push people to their LIMIT. I see in the gym or in classes the average person working at 50% - 75% max. If I don’t feel I’ve got the focus and effort level to my maximum in a class I stop, go into the gym and find another way to get the best out of myself for that last 20 minutes. I’ve still got so much to work and progress on, but I’m committed to the process, are you? . ❗️I hit a 200kg rack pull and 56kg dumbbell rows this week, did YOU smash YOUR goals? Was I born lifting over 3 times my bodyweight? NO. . ❗️BUT did I get up and work my ass off for it week in, week out, stay DISCIPLINED, CONSISTENT, and RESPECTED MYSELF enough to push to maximum effort in my training? YES. . And there is NO reason why YOU can’t give YOUR best effort either. . ❗️”They copied all they could copy but they couldn’t copy my MIND. If only everyone would get in the zone for a workout the way that Bluebelle does 🤷🏼‍♀️🐶😂 . If you go to the gym to enjoy a chat, to socialise, to have a mess around, that’s ok. But don’t question why your aren’t seeing the goals you want ... ... . If your main concern is where you stand, in a gym class, what gym pants another girl is wearing, what weights another person is using to achieve THEIR goal, then you need to ask yourself, why are YOU there. . It doesn’t matter WHERE you stand in that room, what you put on to chase those reps, if your insta video looks as good as the next girls, YOUR progress and giving YOUR best effort should be your ONLY concern. ☺️ . I am in competition with no one. I run my own race. I have no desire to play the game of being better than anyone in any way, shape or form. I just aim to improve, to be better than I was before. That’s me, and I’m free.’💁🏼‍♀️💪🏽 .

‘I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.’ 💪🏽‼️➡️ Principle Physique . FINALLY managed a body weight wide grip pull ... and wasn’t satisfied with the form so stayed there till I got it right 💪🏽 AVERAGE never cuts it. . But here’s the thing ... this didn’t happen overnight. What you don’t see behind 10 second Instagram shots of PB’s is the hours of work, effort and determination that goes into them. Ho...w many times I’ve swung from this machine and not moved an inch. . It’s took me a FULL YEAR to get from close to wide grip pull ups. Now that doesn’t mean it will take you that long, I reached a plateau in my training after the summer. I wasn’t gaining muscle, there was no progression in my weights or reps, and I was getting frustrated at the entire process. . With a few changes, a structured programme and a four consistent meals along with two shakes EVERY SINGLE DAY, in the last three weeks I’ve added 20kg a side to my squats, went from 30 to 50kg single db rows, I did a TWENTY MINUTE wall squat hold, hit a 180kg rack pull, eventually hit a 40kg bench press for reps ... I FINALLY got the pull up 💪🏽 . With the right mindset, diet and training I honestly believe there’s nothing you can’t push your body to do ... and I’m proving this and surprising myself every single day and LOVING training for it. . You have to start somewhere. There’s no reason you can’t make these progressions yourself but you need to START. Rise up. Grind out. FIND a way. ➡️ Principle Physique . Hitting 50kg ‼️ single arm rows 🤷🏼‍♀️ Bit of work to do to get these up perfect form and range but I’m weeerking my ass off to get up to 56’s ... next week🤔🤔 . There’s nothing wrong with partial reps, or having a go at bigger weights to push yourself and see just how far YOU can go. But I ALWAYS drop back to a lighter weight and hit higher paused reps after these heavy working sets to focus on a deep contraction and imp...roving that mind muscle connection. . Big weights are great ... but ask yourself are you there to grow your ego or your body?
