Working with a personal trainer is the best decision I've made - really love it

Went today and enjoyed a Great work out in a friendly and happy environment. Staff and other users are all fantastically helpful, the change room/ showers were very clean in fact the whole gym was. My only moan was running facing a wall and being to tiny to run watching a screen ... Later found a treadmill that has a window view and curved my opinion. The app is quite helpful if your not big on asking for help I even found you can keep track and plan your classes. Miss the sauna from the other gym I used but for the monthly fee I really can not complain! :)

To me it the perfect gym which has everything from free weights 2 machines loads of different classes 2 do as well and loads of gym teachers that help you

Thanks to Pure GYM great facilities and Step and Tone Clasees I have lost 11 lbs since I joined this year! I feel Great!

I love My Gym, but a little bit disappointed or disheartened that the Bikes go up to only Level 25. #AlwaysLevel25!!! #EasyPeasy #LoveitwiththeMusicOn I just wanna know how far I can go on it! -and get better! :))) ;D #LiketoSweat #LovethemBikes xxx

Pure Gym Gateshead is excellent. It's been exactly 3 years now since I joined it, and not only have I transformed my fitness levels but I've also met some fantastic people. The gym has a friendly atmosphere and the staff are welcoming and helpful. For the past 1.5 years I have trained with Chris Chorlton - one of the PTs at the gym. Working with a PT was the best decision I've made. Chris is a first class trainer who got me interested in boxing, running events and HIIT type of training. If you're looking for group boxing sessions, 1-to-1 boxing training or 'tough mudder' type of event prep, book yourself sessions with Chris Chorlton. Well worth the investment !

I thought that once you pay every month that the machine's would be free

So why is it still trying to charge me 70p for a chocolate bar ...........rip off

I have been a member of other higher priced gyms and im more than happy with what you get for the price. Anyone looking for a gym bud get in touch i hate working out alone :)

For someone who is a bit of a newbie it is easy to understand the equipment, there are descriptions on everything. They have free leaflets with good sets to do to achieve what you want (i.e. abs, legs etc) If you are still stuck or want some advice there are always friendly PT staff about.



They are very helpful, for some reason my bank was being awkward about taking the direct debit out, it took 3 times for it to work, all during this time when I hadn't paid they still let me use the gym and reactivated my PIN with no issues.



It is also very clean, equipment is well kept and nice atmosphere.

Have been a member at Puregym Gateshead for nearly 2 years now. The best gym I've ever been to. Good choice of classes which I join in on a weekly basis. Only bad point I would give is the best classes are before 5 when most people only finish work at 5 so a bit difficult to get to when I travel from Consett.



The gym is always clean and the staff/trainers are always friendly. The equipment is of good quality and there is always a sign of they are out of action when most gyms just leave them. Parking is good as you can park at Tesco's for upto 4 hours and the council car parks are free after 6.



I currently have personal training with Jack Spencer who is brilliant he always listens to what in looking for in my fitness and body. I've come from not much exercise to being able to do weights, running etc. I love it, keep up the good work puregym.

Good quality machines staff is very friendly and pure gym gateshead has changed my body I am now toned

First experience of a gym and I really enjoyed it loads of equipment very calm friendly atmosphere

Changed from my regular puregym and i doubt ill be back as this one has sooooo much more and i like how everythings on different levels / rooms mine was all open no privacy any where. Love it here will take some beating for me.

Staff all seem aproachable and freindly... deffo stuck with me for a while. A good way from me but worth it for the extra equipment

After joining the gym a while ago to then having to cancel my membership due to work i re joined a few month ago and will not be cancelling again love the classes and staff are very friendly and helpful

I train at puregym Gateshead, I am an off-peak member as I like to train at night after my work, the gym itself for what you pay for membership is fantastic, well equipped and the cleaning staff are really friendly. My only issue is with the disrespect that some people show the place, most nights it's OK but others the place can be a bit of a mess, with people not putting stuff back and weights etc lying about everywhere, the other night I was training and went on a bike only to find someone had left a sweaty piece of tissue in it, disgusting, i'm not saying all folk do it, but it does say in the rules to put stuff back where it's meant to go

Stopping clients mid set, making them rerack all their weights and move out the way so a photographer can take pictures is unacceptable. Some people are on a schedule, some people have work and some people pay a monthly membership so they can actually use the gym. Pathetic.

I recently joined PureGym paying an additional charge to use 2 gym sites, and I hoped to use the Gateshead gym mid- commute home. Unfortunately I am going to have to cancel using this gym already, as I was not aware of the car parking charges for non Tesco customers. There are also no clear instructions for non Tesco customers about how to use those god awful parking machines. Disappointed �
